Hi Wendy
I woke up this morning feeling sorry for myself or how we like to say, sitting on my pity pot, and was having some coffee in front of my laptop, wondering what I was gonna write about, and decided to look what was up with other members. Then I come across your page. I am a recovering heroin addict Wendy, and I have been clean for 17 years. I work in treatment primarily with Post Conviction Drug Court, and I am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor through CADDE. How interesting how God directs a person to something that person needs.
I have been clean quite awhile, and the judges, parole officers I had that were involved with my going to prison on numerous times, are now considered my best friends. I work along side of them in Superior Court making decisions of what type of treatment is necessary for addicts. The reason I mention this is because, it is great to read a person involved with recovery, and using all the cliches that are posted on the walls of NA/AA. For me it is a breath of fresh air! Good for you! Continue with your journey of recovery one day at a time, and remember that your first day of recovery is still better than your last day of use! Why I forgot why I was sitting on the pity pot! Thank you, I needed this!
