Then you're probably doing something wrong. I have chondromalacia patellae (bad cartilage of the knee cap), and I train twice a week with a personal trainer and do non-impact cardio (elliptical, bike, etc) on my own, and I don't have any such complaints.
To answer the original question, I love me some leg presses.
My favourite two body parts to train are: 1. my feet, to make me centered, balanced and stable 2. my neck, to unblock vital access of bloodflow and oxigen to my brain which then takes care of deciding what other body parts are in need of tuning at any given time.
