What weird hangup do you have?

My son came home today with balloon animals.  The sound balloons make is truly cringe worthy to me and then there's the whole being on pins and needles worrying they will pop.  I HATE balloons.  I know they make little kids smile, but I think they are the scourge of the Earth (ok, maybe not that serious lol) What weird hangup do you have?

I can not stand the sound of cloth/fabric being torn/ripped.. I have no idea why, but the sound makes me cringe.

Maybe not quite the same thing, but I have this issue with people being in the kitchen while I am cooking. I hate it, can't stand anything about it, and I can't concentrate on anything if anyone is in there with me. I will literally refuse to cook until everyone gets away from the kitchen sometimes. I'm ok if it is planned like making cookies with the kids, but other than that STAY OUT OF MY KITCHEN!! Lol! No one in my home cooks in there but me, yet every time I need to cook everyone flocks to it like it's a cool hangout. It is NOT a Hangout! It is MY kitchen. Sadly everyone forgets this 5 minutes after I tell them so I usually just hush about it so I don't come off as an obsessed, nagging, stingy, space hogging mom!

Perfectly normal for safety issues and retrieving stuff to cook.  Have a great day.

I really can't think of any. I really don't have any weird or idiosyncratic hangups in my opinion.

I have three that others around me think of as "weird".
    1. I will not eat cold fruit. If fruit has been refrigerated, it loses its flavor.
    2. I will not drink through a straw - people that have to use straws really suck.
    3. When I was younger, I would drink cups of hot water while everyone else drank coffee. Water really does taste different when it's hot. Now, I drink coffee, but prefer iced coffee to hot coffee.

I prefer to drink cold liquids through a straw because it helps keep them off my numerous fillings, which is painful. My husband would agree with you though because he wears dentures. I guess I suck. LOL

I like my water lukewarm.  If it's too cold, I get nauseated.

Actually, Yoleen, I prefer water lukewarm, too, but being a Southerner, I love my iced tea. People think I'm weird because I drink it with a straw.

Ew, iced tea through a straw? Well, I guess I'm weird. I just can't drink anything through a straw.

That is hilarious! About the hot water! I used to drink that when I was young....and yes, it tastes different. Hehehehehe.

I can't bear the sound of iron cutting and welding machines. They are very harsh making my ears and tongue experience very unbearable sensations.

I can't stand a broken fingernail. I have to cut it immediately, and if there are no cutters, I will bite it smooth (and I'm not a nail-biter).

Yes, broken nail sometimes harasses me too much. I can't even cut it as it is into the bare tip of the finger and cutting it means cutting your finger also. After one day's torture it grows a bit and allows to be cut or bitten smooth.

If I have a nail break into the "quick", I put a small bandaid on it for a few days until it grows out enough to cut evenly. Ugly, but it works.

It's good for those who need not wet hands frequently,  MizBejabbers. Wet bandage becomes very uncomfortable for me as I have to wash hands frequently doing kitchen work. So, I prefer leave it open.
