      Very useful information shared by you. I always feel pained to see elderly people suffering from Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s issues etc. Good to know that the ongoing research will benefit the affected patients.

      Yes, it's amazing that Deep Brain Stimulation can now be implanted, rather like a heart pacemaker. Such strides in medical technology! Pamela gives examples of conditions that can be helped by this therapy.

    A very informative article, Pamela.. It must help be of much help to people with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and many other diseases that make day to day activities so difficult for the patients. The advancement Rin medicine today, is really amazing. Thanks Rosina for sharing.

    Wonderful article Pamela.DBS looks like a good solution for mental disorders like Parkinsons disease and others where suffering is very high.THanks for sharing.One question - is DBS available commonly across the world or on,y in specific countries ?

    Linda, Thank you so much for your comments. I think when no other treatment  works this treatment could change lives.

    Chitrangada, I feel the same way about seeing people with Parkinson's disease or some of the other disease that cause involuntary movements. It is such a difficult disease. I appreciate your comments.

    Ravi, I read the DBS is available in most other countries around the world. DBS is a good solution when all other options fail for these difficult diseases. I am glad you liked the article. Thank you for all your comments.
