    Hi Pamela,
This looks like a serious medical condition and like most diseases, should be attended as fast as possible. Thank you for the wealth of info. It increased my knowledge and I definitely found it helpful like most of your medical articles. I am glad your sister was finally discharged from the hospital.

A helpful and informative article, Pamela. I had something similar to this and had my tonsils removed at about six or seven years old.

    Thank you for sharing, Rosina.

Dear Rosina, You are right.  It can be a serious condition if it is not treated in a timely manner. I appreciate you posting my article and for your comments,

John, This condition usually happens to young people, but my sister is the exception. I had to have the tonsils removed from my oldest son when he was 6 years old. Thanks for your comments.

Chitrangda, My sister was miserable with the pain. She is feeling a little better today, so maybe the worst is behind her. I appreciate your comments, as always.

I hope each of you has a great week!

    Pamela.  .
I'm so glad your sister is okay and got the treatment she needed.

This sounds so scary.   I still have my tonsils.

My mother & I both suffer from parotid glands that swell from time to time.

I remember my mother having a needle like thing stuck inside of her mouth to drain a sac of pus which was in the corner of her mouth.

The doc made it look simple.  Most of the time you just chew on lozenges...something sour like a lemon ball & it eventually draws it out by getting the saliva to work properly.

Glad she's out of the hospital abd hopefully she will be fine going forward.

    Thanks for sharing.

Linda, It was a tough experience for her. We sure hope it doesn't ever happen again. I appreciate your comments.

Brenda, It sounds scary to me too. I had never heard of this when I was working as a nurse.
It sounds like your mother had a very tough time. I think the idea of a needle is needed to drain an abscess is a bit frightening. I am glad my sister is out of the hospital too. Hope it never happens again.
Thank you for your comments, Brenda.

I hope both of you ladies have a great week.
