Collectable Labrador Retriever Souvenirs - Gifts for Lab Lovers

Updated on January 20, 2010

Labrador Retriever

Labrador Retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds. They are known as being very docile, great with kids, fast learners, and intelligent, but they're also bad diggers, chewers, and can be quite destructive. On average, a lab is going to be a puppy for at least two years, which is far more than most people are willing to handle, especially families with younger children who just wanted a dog that would be good with the kids.

But, all in all, although labs are not my favorite dog breed or anywhere on my top five list, they're still good dogs. People love the breed, and you'll find that there are some people who grew up with having several labs around the house, and continue to do so throughout adulthood. These are true lab lovers.

These people know the ends out outs for raising labs. These are the people that will enjoy a Labrador Retriever gift the most, whether it be a simple shirt or a blanket with a lab on it.

When finding a gift for a lab lover, there are many options that range from pretty inexpensive to a little pricey all depending on what you are looking for. Some of the gifts are pretty common whereas others may be more rare and valuable. Depending on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend, your options will vary.

Below, I hope to have pointed you to a starting point, where you can get a few ideas and start figuring out what the perfect gift for your labrador retriever lover may be.

Lab Lover Gifts

Labs are one of the most popular dog breeds, as their reputation deems them the best family pet. Now, I don't find that the most accurate statement, but they can be great in families.

Labrador Retrievers typically dig a soft spot in a dog lover's heart, and some find them their favorite breed of all times. For these people, you'll want to find something special with choosing a gift.

Labrador Retriever lovers will find that anything with a lab on it, especially their favorite variation, is something special. And, when looking for a gift for a lab lover, you will be able to find products that feature yellow labs, chocolate, and black labs. If you search hard enough, you may be able to find something with a white lab or a red lab on it, but being that those varieties are not as common, the products featuring them won't be as easy to find.

Common gifts typically include coffee cups, shirts, vehicle decals, signs, calendars, garden flags, and figurines. You will also find signs, license plate frames, collector plates, and other personalized gifts are popular as well.

Personally, my favorite dog breed gifts are the calendars, shirts, decals, and signs. When I purchase dog breed decals, though, I try to get at least two of the particular decal. You never know when you may sell or trade in the current vehicle, so you need a spare. The good thing is that the car decals are not hat expensive.

If you are trying to pick the perfect gift for a labrador retriever lover, consider your price range. This will definitely help your search. Some products are much more inexpensive than others, so if you're wanting to spend $10 and under, consider a shirt, key chain, cup, calendar, and other simple gifts. Sometimes you can find a great deal on something that normally costs a fortune, but you'll just want to check around and window shop before you make your final purchase.

eBay is a great place to start your search because the prices are wonderful, and in a lot of cases, you'll be able to find free shipping or discounted shipping costs. Sometimes you can even find sellers offering free personalization, which is definitely a great deal.

No matter what you're looking for, eBay will have it, and you'll usually be able to find a few sellers offering the same thing or something similar, which allows you to shop around for the best price.

Lab Collector Gifts

If you're looking for a gift that is a collector item, you will find that the cost will be a few pennies more depending on what you're looking at. Plus, trying to find a collector's gift with a labrador retriever will cause for a little more searching.

The best place to start is eBay. You'll find that there are many sellers offering collector's plates, statues, paintings, vintage jewelry and charms, signs, and a few vintage items.

The options are not as wide when looking for a labrador collector gift, but you'll find if you can locate something, your lab lover will be thrilled with the gift because they're not as quick and simple to find.

If you just can't find what you're looking for, try to find something personalized. A personalized lab gift will be just as special, if not more.
