Thank you Pamela. I enjoyed reading the history of Thanksgiving and your poetry.
Hello Pamela.
An enjoyable read about Thanksgiving, it's history and the wonderful poems. I love this festival about gratitude, family gatherings, and delicious food.
Thank you for sharing, and thanks to John for sharing the link to Pamela' s wonderful work.
As a fortunate descendant of the Iroquois Confederation nations, I was blessed to attend an event a few years back at our local state university's Indigenous peoples' study program in Ohio where the actual Native American dishes from the 1621 Thanksgiving were served, recipes handed down over 400 years of generations of the Indigenous people who created them and shared them with the new settlers. The annual event was not held during the pandemic, but I hope it resumes next year.
Having studied the histories of Indigenous groups for over 40 years, I delightedly uncover something new every year as well.
I enjoyed reading Pamela's wonderful article. The poems are also very enjoyable to read. Gratitude is very important.
Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” – Henry Ward Beecher.
There are thousands of things in our daily lives to be thankful for. We should never hesitate to say 'Thank you'.
Thank you very much, John, for sharing this lovely piece, and many thanks, Pamela, for creating this fantastic hub.
Happy Sunday and Blessings to both of you!
Pamela
Thanks for your wonderful poetry on Thanksgiving.
It definitely helps put me in the mood for this upcoming feast.
It seems there are usually a few places to visit all in one day & I usually overeat.
But oh...it is so good. There are treats we only seem to fix on Thanksgiving.
Great write.
I loved your lovely prose and poetry. Yes, I know Thanksgiving is a special celebration in the US and many other countries. When I was in the US for higher education, I celebrated Thanksgiving with great pomp and show and enjoyed the meals and the holiday as well.
Your poetry revived me many sweet memories with my sisters in the US during that occasion several years back.
Thank you for sharing this awesome article, Pamela and thanks to John for posting her work.
Thank you for posting my article, John. I love Thanksgiving. I appreciate your and Chitrangada's comments. I am glad you both enjoyed the history and the poetry.
Hi Pamela, You described the joys of Thanksgiving beautifully! I hope yours is extra special this year. Thanks John, for highlighting Pamela's article. Thanksgiving should be every day!
I enjoyed reading everyone's personal experiences and the comments. Thank you all!
