The Well Held No Water

Updated on October 8, 2010

Happy birthday!

You wonderful child!

I went back to the well,

To get a drink of water.

The only word the well would give,

                                                                  was "daughter".

The word brought a smile and a tear.

There's a smile of pride, I cannot hide.

There's a warmth, a glow,

That simmers inside.

I gave her life?

Oh, how contraire!

The touch of her hand,

The smell of her hair!

This precious thing,

Came from love.

Oh God, thank YOU!

THANK YOUR STARS ABOVE!

The well holds no water.

                                            The "WELL" holds my daughter.

Happy birthday Josie Lee!

I love you,

             your dad,

                          Micky Dee

I hope that God does keep her wise,

So that she might recognize,

The tears of joy that a father cries,

And see that love in her father's eyes.

I love you Michaela Josie Lee!

MD

This poem, just above was left at McKenzie's hub:

"My Son His Son"

I hope that God does make him wise,

So that he might recognize,

The tears of joy that a mother cries,

And see that love in his mother's eyes.

I just substituted her for his, etc., MD

God bless everybody!

Happy birthday!
Happy birthday!

I love you Josie Lee!

Beautiful, your love shows through your writing.

your love for your child is clear

for you are a father most dear

your heart is filled with love

it will be carried by a dove

as it lands within her sight

she will feel her father's love

Great! I envy your ability to bridge the gap, father to daughter, a place where I've failed and lost 6 grand kids in the failure, 50

Beautiful tribute to your beautiful daughter. I copy 50 Caliber, I don't see birthdays of 3 of my 4 children. Sad isn't strong enough a word, it's deeper than sad. Peace my friend enjoy the relationship, no father should ever be without his child in his life.

Brother the love of a child is all you really need. Being a father has been by far the best thing in my life and I'm happy to say my son, now 35, is still my favorite thing in life, we talk daily. As with all hilarious people I think that other side is very cool. Thanks for your always positive vibration mon! Peace and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Josie!! Tom

You’ve touched my heart with this, Micky Dee. I know a father who takes his daughter’s love for granted; he will forget her birthday if somebody doesn’t remind him and persuade him to pay her at least a visit. I voted this all the way up!

Reading this I thought and- I hope you do not mind me saying that I can see in your words and photos that this 'well' contains the love for your daughter and it is a wishing well too - and it is deeper than any ordinary well. She is beautiful and has a wonderful smile. I hope she has a wonderful birthday.

I have only heard of one female with that name and I love it. Great tribute to a daughter. I would have loved a lifetime of a closeness with my dad, but at least I had a few years.
