Assuming you had food, clothing, and shelter, where would you like to be marooned and why?

....on a woodsy windy hilltop with a view for miles, because you would have the deer, the squirrels, the rabbits, the song of birds changing with the seasons to keep you company, and a breeze would blow to cool your sweat and keep the mosquitoes at bay in the heavy shade of the trees.....something like that.

Well since I am living on an island, I'd rather preferred to be 'stranded' somewhere in the mountains surrounded by a deep lush forest. I can simply sit down and meditate on my marooned situation smile

A huge library like the New York Public Library or Library of Congress.  I'd never run out of reading materials and no one would bother me while I was reading.

This time last year I had just got married and right at this point in time I was sitting on a boat in the Maldives, I was with my new wife and 2 people that I had just met that day (we are still close friends) and our honeymoon was just beginning.

I f I could be marooned anywhere in the world it would be the Maldives, to me it symbolises perfect beauty and is the home of one of the greatest moments in my life!

Who wouldn't want to be marooned in one the the greatest moments of their life?

    Great Question

Somewhere tropical with lots of green and the ocean nearby.  I grew up at the beach, but left there in 79.  Never go over missing it.  The past few years have lived in extreme climates; Montana, North Dakota.  I would love to feel the fun on my skin and hear the ocean and not FREEZE while doing it.

Hypothetically, I want to be marooned in the same place where the playboy yacht in this fantasy got marooned. Unfortunately, Hef didn't survive the crash.  Thus, the responsibility to ensure everyone bunny's safety on what I now dub "babe island" will not be an easy task.  However, I'm up for the challenge.  The island will be like the island from the movie "The Beach".  My new name will be Captain Yohimbe.

Definitely the south pacific. And even though I do like a certain amount of solitude I wouldn't want to be alone, and I wouldn't want to be with anyone except the love of my life and my best friend which happen to be the same person, my wife. How about me and my wife marooned in a beach front Hawaiian hotel. That sounds good.

I would love to be marooned on a very isolated island off the carribean because I love the ocean and the sunny skies. I also love the idea of being so far away from civilization. I would also love to be in the company of my dear friend Wayne Brown....my husband? Not so much, he isn't a poet like Mr. Wayne LOL. Nice question, Cheers.

An island, with plenty of food, water, and shelter. It would be nice to get away from civilization and find myself, and do some soul searching. Being alone with yourself for weeks on end has to change who you are as a person, probably for the better.

I would like to be marroned on an island. Sandy beach with lots of fruit trees near. The temperature would be great all year round. I do not like the cold, so everyday would seem like a vacation.

If all the equipment as you specified already  exists.  I want to be in a museum that has a very complete collection. And supported the library with a complete literature. Because I am very pleased with the history and civilization  of the past  and ancient literature.

Monte Mouie. Beautiful tropical island in the French Polynesia. Currently up for sale and on the top of my wish list. Now if I could just figure out those winning lottery numbers.

    As for the why...

Temperate climate, self sustaining, and away from all the trials and tribulations associated with politics and general stupidity. Plus as a bonus its only about 3-4 hours by boat from Bora Bora for a change of scenery.

With the proper food clothing and supplies, if I was marooned but could choose where I was marooned, I'd have to say somewhere on the grounds of the Playboy mansion.

Marooned, okay WB I would be Marooned with food, clothing and shelter in your house in your master bedroom. Because I told you to get back to writing with your witty self and leave this Q & A stuff for people who have no talent.

And if you are saying to yourself " Like You Blake4d" - then I must admitt I was just thinking about that one myself....

Damn I am a talentless hack after all. But at least I am Marooned in your master bedroom. You got a wife or girlfriend? I can wait....

I would love to live on the Jurassic coast of Dorset in the UK.  It's far too expensive for me to live there, but if I had food, clothing and shelter then I wouldn't need anything else.  It's a beautiful coastline and is the inspiration behind the fictional area of Wessex in Thomas Hardy novels.  As you walk along the windswept coastal paths you can almost see the characters from the book, its my most favourite part of Britain.

A forest in northwestern New Jersey! People think that the state is all parkway, turnpike, expressway, and pollution, but the forests around High Point, Netcong, or even the Blue Army Shrine would prove that it's beyond that!

I would say, possibly on the mountain directly overlooking Boulder, CO

One of the most amazing scenes I have ever laid eyes on

    personally.

You can see so far, and pick out the distinct towns/cities as they are all unique in appearance. And of course, the mile high city is clearly visible, towering over the flat, incredible landscape.
