I would say "and you think this why?"  I would listen but my god isn't due back quite yet.

I would laugh. That's what I usually do when I hear crazy talk!

Namaste. Also described (in English) as "The Divine in Me honours the Divine in You" - or thereabouts. A person making the claim that their individual, separate self is Divinity-Manifest either understands it to be true, (therefore understands that Truth of all Beings), or is delusional. Either way, "namaste" is a perfectly appropriate acknowledgment.

I'd wonder if they were off their meds.  That's from my days in mental health, natural reaction for me.

I think I would pretend that I didn't hear them and walk away, muttering "weirdo" under my breath...

Jesus told us.........do not be fooled......do not listen to false voices proclaiming........

When God appears, we will ALL know it.........believers and unbelieves, and fence straddlers alike...........

We will ALL know it is God!

onegoodwoman  said it all. that is what the Bible says we will know when God comes here and no one will have to tell us at all.
I also don't believe that God would walk up to any one saying this

But if some one did that I don't know what I would do maybe tell them that's nice and walk away and if they followed me I would turn around and deck them then tell them they need help and give them a phone number to call or call the men in the white coats to come and take them away

I would strongly suspect mania, esspecially if the pronouncement was accompanied by pressured speech, staring eye contact, hyperarousal and a mood that appeared overly high.
I beleive I would be safe and would respond politely. I would not ask him/her to prove he was God as this might cause them to do something extreemely dangerous.
If he was engaged in behaviour likely to injure himself or others I would seek help to detain him so that he can be taken away for treatment.

Show me the sign that you are God. Spiritually, God appears when I am in meditated state. If God is to appear in human form, then I will need to have proof.

I live in New York City, and things like that happen all the time LOL!  I just carefully step away and don't look them in the eye.  Sorry, I'm a New Yorker.

Biblically, God has always been more dramatic than that. I really doubt He'd resort to an avatar of some ragged street waif when the Rapture actually promises to be something far more entertaining, and closer to his MO.

I'd probably say "get away from me freak" and walk away quickly.

Then later I would probably think "but what if...."

Then I would feel guilty and say a prayer... just in case. Because you never know.

I would keep walking VERY FAST!

We will KNOW when it is God!  When Jesus returns.......it will be obvious to everyone.  Every knee will bow.

I probably would say something to the effect of "thank you, I really appreciate your efforts on my behalf."  I personally could not take this that seriously. I am a bit of a realist and if there is one thing that I do believe it is that Jesus Christ or God himself will never come before me in a fashion that I do not recognize of them.  There is nothing to be gained by fooling me unless you are simply testing me. Otherwise, if you truly have come with that message, it will not be masked in such fashion. As the comic once said of David Kuresch, if you really are the son of God, how come he doesn't fix your eyes...why do you wear glasses?  Personally, I am not sure when the world will be ready to see its Creator and its Savior once again but I am quite sure that when it happens there will be no doubt that they have arrived. "Let me buy you a beer"

Whether the guy is lying or not, I'd really like to know what his reality is like.
