snakeslaneposted 6 years agoin reply to this

Each line conjures up so many possibilities, I'm stunned, Rinita. We need Andrew!
I, as usual take this literally, Autumn is hidden now (in the womb!), for its gestation period, and winter is melting away, along with the seasonal sadness one endured, I suppose. And, the birth of Green! (Spring?)

Verlie Burroughs you have it, you have it. Nice summing up....I think...can't be sure...oh no....

    3. chef-de-jour profile image60
chef-de-jourposted 6 years agoin reply to this

There's something seasonal going on that's for sure, so we're into cycles beyond our control, so name your favourite cycle - that we have no management of but ...succumb to..... and begin your journey thus...I think Rinita should explain the last line although of course the creator's prerogative to reveal all or not as the case may be..!!

    4. Senoritaa profile image80
Senoritaaposted 6 years agoin reply to this

Thank you all for your marvelous explanations. All partially true. I was going for different aspects of green. The first two lines being the season between autumn and winter (spring/summer depending on where you live), and the last line is about the emotion known as jealousy, and how it is negatively treated even though it is green, the color of nature.

    Soul #

    dreams amoeba

       eyes the fly

         orchestrates songbirds

    when planets die.

    1. snakeslane profile image85
snakeslaneposted 6 years agoin reply to this

A multi layered little piece of poetry as well. I'm sorry, but I had to look up amoeba (I know, I know), and then my head just started spinning at all the possibilities. Mostly, (for me) a sense of time that stretches far (eons) into the past, and at the same time far into the future (to the end of time?). It's like Stephen Hawking wrote a poem. At the same time so organic, and earthy. Enough from me. I hope you are going to fill us in on the 'meaning' Andrew... Or is it rude to ask?

  30. chef-de-jour profile image60
    chef-de-jourposted 6 years ago

I wanted to write about a particular sculpture, I really meant to include an old friend interacting with that sculptured piece but something else emerged because I couldn't shape the words or they wouldn't behave and were like chaotic creatures or wild pets...I abandoned them all in the lost valley of never to be written short poems....so this friend has been ill, quite ill - I've known him for donkey's years - and to see him having fun in real life, also in my imagination, with this tree sculpture, his reactions and verbals and what not, it kind of got to me a bit, and I felt I had to include the word soul, as misused/overused as it is...but I veered off course and ended up with this pseudo mystical 10w .

    1. snakeslane profile image85
snakeslaneposted 6 years agoin reply to this

Your explanation is so helpful, just to understand the process, thanks for that. After I left my comment earlier I remembered seeing a news headline today that the Dalai Lama is in hospital, and I thought what a huge loss it will be when he passes away, and I wondered if your poem was about him (I didn't read the article, so I don't know how he's doing), so your intention came across well (not pseudo mystical) I think.

    2. Senoritaa profile image80
Senoritaaposted 6 years agoin reply to this

Gorgeous 10w, deeper as it was written for a friend. It reads sincere, especially the comparison of dreams with amoeba, unique.
