It's not quite Tuesday yet, but this is in the news thread tonight. Count me a few hours early, I guess, which is a change - since I'm always late to everything else!
Wings spread like a butterfly, It feels good to fly!
Haha, yes, it could be eh, me and you, and lots of us writing away merrily in our different time zones as the world turns...and thank you for always being here on Tuesday Poet!
Rinita, you are psychic I think. The barn swallow has become a sort of muse. I've been observing these lovely blue birds up close for weeks, as they built a nest, and now the chick (just seen one so far) is hatched! This is definitely part of a longer poem I seem to be dreaming in my sleep (working nights?) Thank you so much.
It must have been a real treat to have watched such a beautiful bird hatch. I have never seen them in real, but from whatever I have seen in pictures, I can say for certain that your 10 word tribute here is as beautiful!
We have several bees here, and at times one or two get into my tiny garden. They are beautiful to look at, but hard to capture in a photo frame. That is why we need poets like you, Verlie, to capture them in the frame of words!
Seeing the 'starlight' always triggers me, been trying to write about it too. Taking it to another level is what poetry is about? The reader makes up their own story, it's very freeing, for me as a writer, to know that..
Fascinating is the word! Your poem your rule, and this poem rules the eternity. Black shimmering light, indeed! Wow! We are all incurable romantics for certain!!
Oh man, sorry, I was just reading a poem and comment by Sarita! My bad, I knew I was going to do that one day! Rinita! All these names and pen names, and I'm notoriously bad with names, no excuse.
Thank you Poet. Yes, I was happy to see we are on the same page (literarily, and literally)...Have a great Tuesday Rinita! Not sure what your time is, still Tuesday I hope.
Thanks, yes safe where I am, but there are 600 fires burning across the province, and I don't know how many in Western US. Many communities on evacuation alert. A province-wide state of emergency has been declared here in British Columbia. I just read that we are experiencing the worst air quality on earth! Some places worse than others. Outflow winds are funneling the smoke out to the coast and mixing with fires burning here. Worth a poem I guess
Does anyone have any tips for beginning to write poetry?I haven't written very many poems in my life. It's just not something I'm good at, but I would like to get better. Thank you!

Do you think poets and or poetry can help change the world? In ancient times art was always used as a sort of symbol of change, we have experienced a great deal since then as humanity has somewhat evolved using intellect, and cunning wise ways of technological advancement. This question targets the...
I came here to just read articles and creative writing. One day I found a poem and thought, "What the hey, I'll check it out."It spoke directly to me and yet I understood only two/thirds of it. My own ignorance was the cause of the understanding issue. This thread I...
