Okay, Farah. I am taking off my mask for all to see the real me.. smile
Thanks for sharing this great poem. Yes, we are all basically the same underneath, and want similar things. What you see isn’t always what you get however.

Great poem on Imposter, Farah! There are so many people like that in real life that we need to be wary of them. Yes, deep inside we are all the same and want similar things. Good job well done. All the best.

Thanks, John, for highlighting Farah's poem.

Thank you so much, dear Surovi, for your kind appreciation. Yes, we all try to hide and keep away our weaknesses and show off only the positive sides to get social recognition of how successful we are. We put on our happy faces despite swimming in the depths of depression because no one wishes to see a sad person. But if we are all alike and all going through similar problems then why not acknowledge and face them? Why hide behind that happy mask we wear all the time? Subconsciously or consciously we are all playing the role of an imposter, trying to fool the world with our happy masks.
Glad to know you liked the poem, Surovi. Much love and blessings to you.

I really like your poem, Farah. You are so right with your description of people that hide their depression and we do all have similar problems as we move through our lives. This is a well-written poem.

Thanks for posting Farah's poem, John.

This is a very good read and so unique. A mask may hide depression or even a smile but that's not all it hides. In today's world the mask is hiding far more than it is protecting. Sadly, we will all need more awareness of fake scam artist around every corner. The world as we've known it is long gone.

Thank you so much, dear Diana Lee, for your insight and inspiring words. You are right. A mask can do a lot. Depends on how the user uses it and we should be aware of such scammers....and then there are those of us who subconsciously wear such invisible masks of happiness just because society demands us to be happy people, successful people, to an extent that we prefer to fake happiness and hide our insecurities while they keep growing inside until they turn unmanageable. Nobody’s life is perfect and so this pretence is uncalled for.
I am glad to know you liked reading this poem. Would love to get more feedback from you. Please do pray for me and my blessings to you as well...

    Farah...
    Nice one.
I often find myself putting on that mask so others don't know my pain.
    Tis better to look happy.

But you are right...we all do this and we should just be ourselves.

I like to be at home where there is no masks and I don't need to play in the game others play.

    Live life.  Be yourself.

    Great work.

Yes Brenda, I totally hate putting up with the social expectations, which is why I also love staying home so that I can just be myself. If only society was not so demanding! Thank you for your kind support and insight. Much love and blessings to you!

Nice Poem Farh.I agree we are all putting a mask and pretending in some way or the other. In my opinion this mask might not be bad if it is used to make someone happy,to make others feel stronger and also not to wither away under troubles. Thanks for sharing this wonderfully thought provoking poem.

    THanks for sharing John.

Yes, you are right, Ravi! If the mask makes other people happy then why not wear it? But what about yourself? Will hiding yourself get rid of the problem? We need to speak about our insecurities and stop them from growing inside us. Society should not be so demanding that we cannot show our true feelings or find it shameful to admit that insecurities and weaknesses exist.
Thank you so much, dear Ravi, for your thoughtful insight. I am glad you liked the poem. My blessings to you... smile
