John...
Thanks for sharing this one.
Suicide is often hard to understand, but you point out how one feels.
Like no one really cares.
Thanks, John, for sharing this poem. I had a friend whom I lost due to severe depression. The sad part was that he kept it bottled inside, and by the time I knew, it was too late.
Thanks, Brenda, for sharing.
Thank you, John, for writing this poem. It certainly creates an awareness about giving an ear to suicidal persons. Since my teenage days, I have had many suicidal thoughts. But I have always digressed away from those thoughts and have made myself understand what a blessing it was to be alive and what more, the blessings of a long and healthy life.
Thank you, Brenda, for posting John's significant and eye-opening poetry.
Suicidal thoughts seem to be a lot more common than many of us realise, Rosina. I am glad you managed to get on top of yours and realise the many blessings of life instead. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I agree that there is more suicide today. There are people being bullied, and there are numerous other reasons causing severe depression. I like your article and your poem, John. It really spells out the desperation some feel.
Beautiful poem! Loved the quotes! Thanks for sharing, Brenda! And thanks for caring, John!
John,
Thanks for sharing the painful wording crying for help to a blind or be busy to notice world. Now, someone should write about and name all the agencies that can help and reach out to ones in need,
Your poem could give solace to someone in need.
Thanks John,
Bobbi Purvis
Hello John!
This was different but on an important issue. It’s painful to see people getting so depressed that they decide to end their life. You have expressed the emotions very well.
Excellent piece of writing. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Brenda for highlighting this one.
Thanks John for allowing us to feel the despair, the pain and hopelessness of a would-be suicide victim. Thanks also for the Jodi Picoult quote. We must not forget that such people sometimes spend time in our presence, giving us an opportunity to spark a little hope into their lives through a kind word or deed. Wish we were always aware. Thanks, Brenda, for sharing.
You've written a powerful and important poem, John. In a real-life situation, I would feel sorry for the train driver. He or she would have to live with the situation for the rest of their life, even though the accident wasn't their fault. Thank you very much for creating the list of resources to help people at the end of the article.
Thank you for reading and commenting, Linda. Yes, I too would feel sorry for the train driver. I worked in the railway department for 17 years and have actually experienced such incidents. Drivers often have to undergo long-term therapy after such an occurrence. Some are unable to drive again.
