      Excellent response to the word prompt, Patience. I enjoyed reading your well crafted poems.
      Some thoughtful references by you, especially with respect to the fast paced modern World. The reference to the pandemic is so appropriate.

   John, I enjoyed reading all of your wonderful poems. A very interesting and delightful read as always. You are so right about Covid. I think maybe it has stayed with us for so long to teach us patience. Barcelona is once again under curfew from 12 am to 6 am  because of Omicron. I'm hoping it'll be over soon.

         John, like you I can be a patient person; I recognize that "stuff happens." There can be unexpected interruptions or delays. But this COVID thing is pushing that virtue out of my grasp. I just want to be able to be with all of my loved ones again.

            Hello Linda, I think the COVID situation is trying everyone’s patience. It has finally reached our little town after two years, and is now too close to home. I guess we had been building a false sense of security and now we getting a bit nervous and on edge. Visiting loved ones and vice versa looks like being on indefinite hold. Just got to try and stay patient though. A blessed New Year to you also,

   Without a doubt I am a tortoise and yes, I've won my share of races.
   
   As far as COVID goes, I'm reminded of an old cartoon I saw once....it's a one-frame of a vulture, and the caption is "Patience my ass! I'm going to kill something!

   Forgive me, but I think I wrote a book as I was reviewing this one.
   
   You give us some sound advice in the beginning of your article.
   
   If we're facing something negative or scary, sit a spell ~ take a moment to ourselves.
   If our mind veers towards negative thoughts, make a conscious effort to think positive.
   Get back into the right frame of mind.
   
   That picture is so cute with the tortoise & the hare.
   
   "Patience Always Wins ~ Be a Tortoise Not a Hare!" Reminds us to take our time.
   Don't worry if we're running late.
   It's not the end of the world.
   
   But honestly...I've never heard a date say take your time when you are running late.
   Maybe this poem will be the start of something new. 
   
   I know I could use it.  I think I'm the slowest person to get ready sometimes...
   Other days I run faster than a horse in a race.
   
   You are so right about Covid-19.
   
   It's like we are living in a Science Fiction Movie...
   I wish it was just a movie and not our new reality.
   
   Every day, I learn of someone who has either caught the virus or has passed away from it.
   It seems to be getting worse and not better.
   
   I'm getting a little bit anxious & losing my patience also.
   
   I've been vaccinated, except for Booster shot which I will get soon.
   I was supposed to have it yesterday, but had to cancel...but I find myself daunting my favorite new apparel...A Mask.
   (After months of not using one)
   
   "Road Rage, a Semi-Satirical Poem" describes how we can easily lose patience when dealing with other drivers.
   
   "Micro-Poem ~ The Art of Patience" is a cute little poem.
   
   It shows that one has  patience now & they'll need patience later when they wait on you.
   
   Great work on this word prompt.

      Brenda, your comment could almost be an article in itself haha, but I appreciate it. I don’t think I have ever said take as much time as you need to get ready for a date either. I hate being late for anything. That part is fiction…right!
      Glad you liked the picture of the tortoise snd the hare and other poems I included.
      We had a false sense of security in my little town as we had been COVID free up until now, but the recent opening of our State borders and easing of restrictions in southern states has but an end to that. We are under mandatory mask wearing and have to sign in and produce proof of vaccination at most venues. No hope of visiting family now. So, if anything is trying my patience it is this damn virus.

         Sorry to hear you cannot visit family & the mandate has been brought back.
         
         Here it hasn't been brought back yet, but I look for it after the new year begins.
         
         Unfortunately, I think they are waiting so everyone can have successful business venues on New Year's Eve.
         
         The covid here is out of hand again.
         Many people are meeting their maker.
         
         Ron hates to be late for anything too.
         As for me...I've always been told I would be late for my own funeral.
         
         I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope your patience stays in check.

            Brenda, we are allowed to travel but with the explosion of new cases  I don’t want to risk visiting the city. I also have one son in Brisbane who refuses to get vaccinated.

               I can understand you not wanting to travel.   I've been wearing masks when I have to go out to the store for the same reason.
               
               I dread going to any nearby cities right now, but even more so...the doctors office or hospital.
               
               We had to go to Emergency Room the other night, and as luck would have it...there was an active covid case..
               
               I'm so hoping that little mask protected us.
               
               Sorry to hear that your son isn't vaccinated.  This virus doesn't seem to cares who it attacks.

We should only worry about what we can control and still need to get on with our lives as best we can. Let’s hope this New Year is a better one for all moving forward.

   I could not agree with you more about this virus, John. I am sick of mandates as they aren't working, so even that tries my patience. We finally have some treatments for the virus but they are not talked bout much. I am normally a very patient person. LOL!
   
   As for your poems, they are a joy to read, as always. I really like your pictures also as they are all fitting to the subject.

      Thank you for reading this, Pamela. I am impatient because everything the authorities have done so far in regards to the virus seems to be for nothing. Mandates, restrictions, vaccines, and it is still raging out of control and getting worse. We must have to hope and pray (and be patient lol) that some miracle is around the corner.

      Another good discussion starter. It isn’t really a case of who is faster, but who is in front at the end of the race. A lot of things can happen between the start and finish.
