      Love the poem.

If one does not love their work, they can not master life. Work makes love,  visual.  Most do not love their work for most waking hours of their lives. It's the most important thing for each one of us to do. Or nothing that I can imagine, is a greater waste of life.  I Choose a lifestyle over a career. Can't wait to go to work now. For the one with the most joys in life, rather than most toys, WINS in the end!!!

      Thank you for the reminder.

We can have our cake and eat it too, did not ever understood,  why not? Nothing is more of a waste of time in life than being without both.

    Hello John!
Excellent set of poems, and well expressed.
Making a life is different from making a living, as you have rightly pointed out. The selection of quotes is thoughtful.
The second poem is heart touching.
I liked both your poems. Thank you for sharing.

I like your two poem, John. The first one is really describes why we have to make a living, but life is more. The second one is so sad as it describes that loss of a couple breaking up. The quotes were fitting for your article.

Thanks for posting John's poems, Chitrangada.

I absolutely loved your poems. Making a life and making a living are clearly indicated as distinct parts of life. Did you have anyone in mind while writing the second poem? As far as
I know, you seem to be a happy family. Anyways, I loved the quotes too accompanying your poetry.

You won't believe I have written an article inspired by quotes with different themes, which I was ready to publish yesterday but something got in the way. I don't publish on Friday. So it will come out on Monday.

Thanks for sharing, John, Thank you, Chitrangada, for sharing his post.

Hi Rosina, it is great to know that you loved these poems. What a coincidence that you were ready to publish an article also inspired by quotes. I look forward to reading it.
No, I didn't have anyone in mind when I wrote the second one. I had just gone to bed and was jotting random words down...not even thinking of a theme...and this was the result. My muse works in strange ways.

Thank you for reading this and appreciating it, Castlepaloma. We all need a reminder now and then, but it seems you are living this already. Joy wins over toys always.

Thanks Chitrangada for sharing those 2 different poems by John which were inspired by quotes.  For those who work a 5 day week, that quote about adding 5 days to the week if a person loves their job is so true.  Time flies if one is enjoying themselves.  That 2nd poem is a sad one.

      Hi Peggy,

So true, John: "We need to find the balance / Between work and recreation." That's getting a life! Thanks for the reminder. Thanks, Chitrangada, for sharing the link.

That is a wonderful poem here, John. It reminds me of a profound quote by Alain,

“There is no such thing as work-life balance. Everything worth fighting for unbalances your life.”

The message is that if we struggle to maintain our recreation or work and fight to make it happen daily, we are leading an unbalanced life. A balanced life should be natural, with defined slots and schedules for work and recreation. Yes, it is not easy but we all should strive for it. Thanks for sharing these thoughts, John.

Thanks, Chitrangada, for sharing John's work.

That certainly is a profound quote by Alain. Yes, that is what we should strive for. Thank you Ravi.

I enjoyed, as always, reading your poems, John. Thank you, Chitrangada, for posting this. I am only beginning to understand how to achieve this balance of living. The second poem touches my heart as I think of people I know who went through this. Poems always express so much depth.

Thank you very much, Mary. I am glad you are beginning to achieve the balance, and that you can personally relate to the second poem. I appreciate your kind words.
