John, your interesting poem about the two preachers reminds me of an interesting quote on religion said by Aristotle

"Religion was invented when the first con man met the first fool."

That said, we will have good and bad preachers as long we have people. We will always have charlatans who will have a lot of clout, power, and followers. Ultimately, It all boils down to people who need to use their rational judgment and minds to make the right decision and select the right guru. Thanks for sharing this thought-provoking poem about the two preachers.

Haha Ravi, Aristotle's quote may not be far wrong in a lot of instances. I am not sure that is how it was invented but yes there will always be charlatans exploiting it. Like in every endeavour, there are good and bad people, and people have to use their wisdom to decide who to believe.
      Thank you for sharing.

John, this was wonderful poetry about two preachers along with good quotes. Yes, we cannot simply rely on preachers but use our own sense and sensibility and rational logic to make choices and take decisions in our lives. I liked the awesome message in your poetry.

Thanks, Ravi, for posting John's work.

Thank you so much, John, for this interesting and beautiful poem with a lovely message. I loved it and especially this part:

"The other Pastor said, "Friends,... Does not make you small."

Your poems are always meaningful and powerful, and you know I am a huge fan of your poetry! smile

All I know is that evil and good are at work in this world, and good always triumphs over evil.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."- (John 1:5)

Thank you for shining; you do make others' paths bright! I always find inspiration and beauty in your work; it's the beauty of your heart that shines through your writings. Thank you very much for all you do, my friend! smile

Thanks for sharing John's beautiful poem, Ravi! smile
    Blessings always!

John, another poem which highlights one of the issues in our world. How easily we sometimes fall for the charlatans of the world. I can't understand how this happens, but it does. As you say, we can't judge. We can only trust in the guidance of Universal Power.

Hello, Mary. Good to see your comment on my poem. It is hard to tell the authentic from the charlatan these days ... perhaps it always was.  It is an ongoing problem and some people are gullible, but we have to be careful to make the right decisions. Thanks for reading.

Thank you for sharing John's article, Ravi.

    John,
There are definitely different views when it comes to preaching and cults.

I like the preacher who tells them to make up their own minds.

It's no wonder this world has problems since we are pulled this way and that ...everyone trying to get one's devotion.

Cults are sometimes easy to follow I guess...because one can go with the flow.

I'll take my chance on the good book & think for myself.

    Good write.

The tail of 2 preachers is a good comparison between good and evil.  Sometimes people can be easily deceived and go down the wrong path.  I liked that quote about how one feels when doing the moral decision verses the opposite.  Thanks Ravi for featuring John's work.
