    Hi everyone!

I have lots of poems that I am considering putting on here, some long and some fairly short.  Is there a minimum word count for writing on hubpages.

    Thanks.x

There is a word count - so it is a good idea to add a couple of relelvant pics and maybe some kind of where the idea, what it is about if you like to tell etc.

My other hat is alternate poet and this is how I do it there.

Welcome to hubpages, Good luck, the more poetry the better.

      I've written a 4 chapter poem on 1 hub:  http://hubpages.com/hub/qwark93
There was no limit set for me.
Post one of your long ones. Test it.

          Hi Victoria:
Oh, I'm quite happy with those who have read this poem.
          I'd like much more response.
It took me weeks to write it, rework it, rework it again and again to get the final product, which I am proud of.
I would like to get it's message out to many more but I'm afraid too few are into poetry to make it a means to promulgate a message.
          Nice chatting with ya.

My guess is two words. Kinda tough to rhyme a single word with itself unless you repeat it at least once, and, ipso-facto, you now have two words.

    Victoria:
I went to your site to see if you'd written any poetry. I found none.
    Why?
I'd like to read a piece of rhyming poetry from you.

Hi ya,  Sorry I haven't got any poems on here yet.  I was just enquiring about putting some on here first.  If I do decide to put it on here, then I will let you know.  Thank you for your interest, it is very encouraging.xxx

I have almost given up on this page. I already have Blind Dog poetry corner. Nobody reads it anyway. And this is not Victoria. This is her father. Victoria's blog is SimplyStrong.blogspot.com/

I may be new around here but this seems a pretty low way of trying to drive traffic to your blogspot.

As you have only wrote one article yourself in the last 5 months on hubpages, your efforts might be better redirected if you set about making some more.

there tons of 50 word poems getting good traffic and hub score in HP. There are 500 word poems as well. Don't worry about word count.

I won't worry too much now; people seem to be excepting it pretty will if there are fewer words, when it is poetry. Thank you.x

Hi Saleheen & Victoria- I didn't know that about the word count.  I

I've put some of my poetry in with other pieces I've written when iit was appropriate to do so.

The one hub which is all poetry I placed three different poems together to make sure that it was long enough.  It turned out quite nicely which I'm proud of between the poetry and the pics.

I don't think that poetry warrants a word count as such.  Not all poems are epic and limericks are very short!

I suppose if you wanted to go for word counts you could put in an introduction to the poem and follow it with a discussion section although this would probably not fit with those who like to to interpret poetry in their own way.

I have noticed that I don't get 'lack of content' warnings from hubpages when I write a short poem - although I do if I write a normal text hub

It’s been my experience that if you include some nice pics, the word-count restrictions disappear.

Witness this particular masterpiece of mine that also had 5 pics.smile

I don't get lack of content on my poems but I find that the hubscore is often quite low...guess Google doesn't think poems are of great value in the world of information sad

I agree with every one here. When writing poems, I've felt the need to make a compilation in order to build up the hub. See Haiku Morning ~>  http://hubpages.com/hub/Haiku-Morning-Prayer

Add photographs and videos to add interest and associations to the poem theme. All these elements will make a substantial Hubpages.

    Enjoy!
