Hi everyone!
I have lots of poems that I am considering putting on here, some long and some fairly short. Is there a minimum word count for writing on hubpages.
Thanks.x
There is a word count - so it is a good idea to add a couple of relelvant pics and maybe some kind of where the idea, what it is about if you like to tell etc.
My other hat is alternate poet and this is how I do it there.
Welcome to hubpages, Good luck, the more poetry the better.
Great tip on writing what the poems are about. And thank you for the encouragement, very much appreciated.xxx
what!!!?????? wow...cool.
on second thought, that makes tons of sense and I had noticed some refrences that Im so slow..I was like.."cool, thats two guys with chinese gals"...duh...
I've written a 4 chapter poem on 1 hub: http://hubpages.com/hub/qwark93
There was no limit set for me.
Post one of your long ones. Test it.

I will post one soon and see how it goes. Your 4 chapter poem has got quite a lot of comments on it so people are definatly reading it it.x
Hi Victoria:
Oh, I'm quite happy with those who have read this poem.
I'd like much more response.
It took me weeks to write it, rework it, rework it again and again to get the final product, which I am proud of.
I would like to get it's message out to many more but I'm afraid too few are into poetry to make it a means to promulgate a message.
Nice chatting with ya.
Qwark
My guess is two words. Kinda tough to rhyme a single word with itself unless you repeat it at least once, and, ipso-facto, you now have two words.
Victoria:
I went to your site to see if you'd written any poetry. I found none.
Why?
I'd like to read a piece of rhyming poetry from you.
Qwark
Hi ya, Sorry I haven't got any poems on here yet. I was just enquiring about putting some on here first. If I do decide to put it on here, then I will let you know. Thank you for your interest, it is very encouraging.xxx
I have almost given up on this page. I already have Blind Dog poetry corner. Nobody reads it anyway. And this is not Victoria. This is her father. Victoria's blog is SimplyStrong.blogspot.com/
I may be new around here but this seems a pretty low way of trying to drive traffic to your blogspot.
As you have only wrote one article yourself in the last 5 months on hubpages, your efforts might be better redirected if you set about making some more.
btw, what IS the word count? I didnt know that before..
I'm still not sure for certain but most people in the forums seems to think its 600 minimum.xxx
there tons of 50 word poems getting good traffic and hub score in HP. There are 500 word poems as well. Don't worry about word count.
I won't worry too much now; people seem to be excepting it pretty will if there are fewer words, when it is poetry. Thank you.x
Hi Saleheen & Victoria- I didn't know that about the word count. I
I've put some of my poetry in with other pieces I've written when iit was appropriate to do so.
The one hub which is all poetry I placed three different poems together to make sure that it was long enough. It turned out quite nicely which I'm proud of between the poetry and the pics.
I don't think that poetry warrants a word count as such. Not all poems are epic and limericks are very short!
I suppose if you wanted to go for word counts you could put in an introduction to the poem and follow it with a discussion section although this would probably not fit with those who like to to interpret poetry in their own way.
I have noticed that I don't get 'lack of content' warnings from hubpages when I write a short poem - although I do if I write a normal text hub
It’s been my experience that if you include some nice pics, the word-count restrictions disappear.
Witness this particular masterpiece of mine that also had 5 pics.

Yes. The vile, creepy, disgusting critters are alive and well.
ZOMBIE BABY ALERT!
The bloated veins.
ZOMBIE BABY ALERT!
The bloodshot eyes.
ZOMBIE BABY ALERT!
The lovely skin, and the oh-so-cute nose.

Here are some more words to describe your new best friend:
Revolting, repulsive, sickening, ghastly, filthy, sordid, horrible, nauseating, repellent, swollen, distended.

bump due to the absurdity of the question. A little research would suffice.
I don't get lack of content on my poems but I find that the hubscore is often quite low...guess Google doesn't think poems are of great value in the world of information
I agree with every one here. When writing poems, I've felt the need to make a compilation in order to build up the hub. See Haiku Morning ~> http://hubpages.com/hub/Haiku-Morning-Prayer
Add photographs and videos to add interest and associations to the poem theme. All these elements will make a substantial Hubpages.

Enjoy!

On another thread, a Hubber suggested that if HubPages had a minimum word count, it would prevent some spammers.I know that a very low word count can get a Hub flagged as substandard, but perhaps it's set too low at the moment?

I am writing a piece now, that is currently 3000 words, and still rising; as things stand it appears that it will be around 4000 words. In the past I have written two part articles on HP and they tend not to fly, so I don't want to divide it in two. It would be okay to split it in two and move it...
