Frog posted this:
bgamall - I call a spade a spade and an idiot an idiot. Now I suggest you travel on to where you make sense to others. It isn't here. I'm not a right winger, left winger. I am a Tea Party conservative who believes in adherence to the US Constitution. In closing, the document mentions that the primary role of the "limited" federal government is the defense of this nation. Every citizen should contribute to that cause via the federal income tax which pays for that defense. Now wise up and move on. Spend some time reading exaqctly what the US Constitution says. It might help you think straight.
The Frog
Frog prince called me an idiot. He is a Tea Party radical, who thinks he knows something. But really, he knows very little. And he is a rude host on his hubpages. This is what he pleads on his homepage:
"I prefer to not be attacked for my views as they are my own and not necessarily yours."
And yet this guy who doesn't want to be attacked calls me an idiot. It is ok if he does the attacking as long as we don't attack the poor wittle thing.
You owe me an apology Frog.
And not only that, he calls the 47 percent sponges, when he gets a military pension from, guess where, the government!
With all due respect, this post is neither about politics nor social issues. Something like this should be handled privately, via email, or in the comments section on the hub where it originated.
I disagree. This is because of a political discussion, that if we aren't Tea Party we are idiots. It is how many tea Party people act. It has value in exposing the real politics of Tea Party, which is offensive to most of us.
Son you are reading all kinds of things into what I wrote. Off the deep end you went. Give people a link so they can go see exactly how you conducted yourself on my Hub.
Don't call me son. I am 63 years old. Now youare saying I am off the deep end. Why don't you Tea Party people get some manners.
I don't mind sharing your hub, and they can read my reasoned comments:
thefrogprince.hubpages.com/hub/Did-Ya-Hear-Women-Just-Dont-Care
Here is the problem with the Tea Party, they are the old John Birch Society. Dwight Eisenhower, military leader in world war 2 and president of the United States said that the John Birch Society were a fringe group.
The Tea Party is funded by the Koch Brothers, and their father cofounded the John Birch Society. Eisenhower believed that the military industrial complex was a threat to freedom. He also believed in helping the poor, and he built the freeway system which now is considered socialism by Froggy.
there will be more people along shortly to see immature conduct in action on your part. You reap what you sow son.
I have had thousands of libertarians rail upon me at business insider. I don't care. Bring them on.
B eat that chicken chest aboput yourself Son. No one cares but maybe you on a good day. LMAO
You do realize that if you get a pension from the government you depend on government, Froggy. You do know that right?
And your point is? Did you walk into danger for 23 years to defend this nation? I doubt it. My pension, as you term it, is known as deferred compensation and I earned every penny of it and more defending your ability to continue to run your mouth. You realize that now? If not, too bad so sad.
But you do realize that if someone is collecting a MILITARY pension, that means they are a military retiree who spent decades in service to the US Government? That's not a great argument. You might want to leave that out as you move forward with this. Just a thought.
I know clueless when I see it Motown and obviously you do too. He doesn't know when to stop Maam.
I understand that. But he is talking about dependency on government. If he gets a check from government he is dependent upon it, and so is a government contractor. See how the stock of Raytheon works if that company does not get government contracts.
Point is, government "welfare" comes in many forms. Government pays many businesses who are dependent on government for their survival.
And as Lindsay Buckingham once said, justice is just good business. Even the cops rely on government for their checks.
My point being, that no one would consider any of this socialism. Yet Froggy is so afraid that if we give out a food stamp we are socialists.
First of all, I would hate for you to come into contact with police officers and soldiers that you accuse of being 'dependent on the government' for their pay. Public servants, including police officers and soldiers depend on the government for the ADMINISTRATION of their pay, but the money comes from the taxes paid by the people they willingly choose to defend. To accuse them of collecting 'welfare' is one of the most insulting things in the world, and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Lastly - government support of those who cannot or will not work is indeed a type of socialism. Those who can give to those who can't. The reaction from those who don't like it comes from the fact that it is often abused. NO ONE is unwilling to help those who need it and who are unable to help themselves. What they do take offense to is helping those who are able to, but refuse to work in any capacity.
And don't start any stupid TP arguments with me. I'm not a fan of the TP either. I'm a fan of the American way of life, and those who have chosen or choose to (now) defend it.
According to this logic.......
Companies are ADMINISTERING pay to employees, and customers are providing the funds. It's technically correct, but misleading.
The company decides how much to pay an employee, just like government negotiates with police and fire UNIONS (yeah you righties love to leave out that police are heavily unionized. do you want to break those unions too!?!?!?!).
His point isn't that Frog didn't earn it. He never claimed that, quite the opposite actually. His point is that, any member of the military is technically a government employee, and is paid with tax dollars.
He was attacking Frog for saying that all government "dependence" is immoral. Frog's entire salary comes from the government, and this just goes to show that right-wingers are not actually thinking before speaking, because the military, police, firefighters, and teachers are all GOVERNMENT employees, yet they are all essential to the functioning of our society.
Sometimes government can be...positive.
Umm. I'm about as far from a 'rightie' as one can get. But, thanks for the response. As regards what bgamall is actually trying to point out, I am not hear to argue his point or its opposite. Originally, he was just hear to call someone out on something they said on their own hub. What followed, followed. Either way, I don't have a beef with him or you.
I do have a beef with a personal matter being brought into a public forum when it should have been handled between the two people involved and/or the moderators on the site.
Sooner28, I don't even have a dog in this fight, so I apologize if I don't continue this argument.
Lol. If you think, "Lastly - government support of those who cannot or will not work is indeed a type of socialism. "
Food stamps are socialism, as well as Medicaid...Call yourself whatever you want, but you fit very well with the American right.
Okie doke. Unlike you, I don't feel a need to label myself or call myself anything. I am who I am and believe what I believe. If you're curious to know what that is, you may feel free to ask. Otherwise, yup, government support of its people is socialism. Nope, we don't have a socialist government, but we engage in socialist practices.
Enjoy.
Actually I now own my own business. Stop jamming your foot in your mouth son.
Regardless of how it began, the situation is about your feelings being hurt by a specific person. The way you're handling it is inappropriate. If you truly feel that you were called an idiot, report the individual and let the mods handle it. This is just about embarrassing someone in the hope that they'll cave and soothe your wounded spirit.
Excuse me? Froggy needs to be exposed for his radical beliefs and the manners that accompany those radical beliefs.
You have your opinion and it is noted. But I don't agree with you.
Uh, I'm guessing his 'radical' beliefs were quite well exposed on the hub where you commented. Having some familiarity with the political leanings of many hubbers, I can say Frog doesn't often hold back when you ask what he thinks.
bgamall, let it go. You may be overreacting, and this isn't making Frog look bad.
Actually, It won't make frog look bad to those who share his beliefs. But we know many obviously have criticized him in the past, because he wants to avoid the criticism while he himself insults others.
I write Hubs. You can either read them or not. You can also stay on topic or not. I warned you more than once and you obviously either don't understand English or thought I was kidding. I wasn't. Nowe you know that I don't play silly left wing games.
The Frog
You are a game player, a silly one at that. But you don't know it. You still haven't told me why you don't think your pension is sponging since you said people dependent on government are sponges. You are a hypocrite.
Explain yourself.
Oh I told you son. Just keep reading.
Calling me son just shows you are condescending. You are not that smart. Not saying you are dumb. You just aren't smart enough to call me son.
Then stop acting immature and grow up a bit. I always have a thrreshold for lunacy.
That's exactyly what happened. I told him more than once to remain on topiuc and he failed to listen. Then he began his self-promotion routine which I don't allow. Now I'm a radical? This guy has more conspiracy theories than Carter has little liver pills.
The Frog
That is BS. I was on topic. Your hub covered every topic. If you carefully read the hub, it includes all the topics. The last section talks about women who make budgets, pump gas, pay bills. I covered, in my posts, finance, gas and oil and the rip off of the budgets of people by the bankers. I was totally on topic.
We'll let people go there and see exactly how off topic you went and stayed. You obviously aren't familiar with the protocols involved in blogging therefore you probablyt either need to learn or get slammed around a bit for not doing so.
No, I have only been here four years Froggy. I don't know anything.
I'll tell you again right here so people can see it and understand it. When someone write on a topic, that is the topic and isn't what you want it to be or become. You failed to understand that even after being warned off many times. I don't care how long you've been anywhere son. If you don't follow the protocols of blogging then you don't belong here or on any other blog.
Whatever froggy. I wouldn't want to be hindered by your protocols anyway. But what about your pension frog?
I earned it. But you still are dependent on government to give it to you.
As I told you and it says on my profile, "I am a small business owner." I built that myself after I stopped defending the document that allows you to run your gums incessantly.
As opposed to how you're acting in this thread, which is like a six year old. "Miss, he called me a poopoo head!"
Fascinating coming from one who laughed at Karl Marx. Part of the argument I had with Froggy was that capitalism has survived in the face of Marx' prediction of failure precisely because we have some socialism, like social security, etc.
+++++++++, totally concur with you, Motown2Chitown!
How we discuss political and social issues in public forums (such as hubpages) is very much an important political and social issue. There are, and I would bet everyone would agree, certain people whose presence degrades public debate, due to things like name-calling and poor argumentative techniques (strawmen). It behooves all of us to stand up for polite, respectful, and constructive dialog (and to call out the opposite as unacceptable).
Me and Josak in good faith answered a question the other day and were bombarded with being called idiots and morons multiple times by Tsadjatko and Frog Prince. Tsadjatko (who asked the question) then closed it to new comments so we couldn't even defend ourselves. That sort of thing should be unacceptable to everyone here.
Maybe the specific complaint has no place here, but the broader issue I think does, and is important.
I didn't call you an idiot and the moderators can check out exactly what I said. You really are a piece of work. You first sentence is exactly what I wrote. If you project that onto yourself that is not my problem.
Motown China - I think you see the situation clearly. Obviously he got his feelings hurt and I really care less. If I call someone an idiot they will know it because I am rather direct as most people who know me come to realize. This one doesn't have a clue.
The Frog
Stop it. We know what you meant. And you owe me an apology You think you are cute in getting around the subject, but you meant for the idiot criticism to be tacked on to ME.
No you think you know what I meant. There is a difference. One thing has become obvious to me. You have an English comprehension problem. A serious one.
The Frog
The FACT is you tagged what I said onto yourself so live with it.
I can live with whatever. But the Tea Party is going down, and it is because of guys like you. I have debated with hundreds of Tea Party people, and they all have one thing in common, they love the TBTF banks, and they hate helping the poor. They have it backwards. All of them.
So, this forum post is intended to bring down the Tea Party?!
Evidently he has that axe to grind too Motown. I'm telling ya he has a conspirator hiding behind every tree.
Actually your debating skills leave much to be desired so don't beat your chicken chest about that issue.
I believe in some conspiracies, like the Basel 2 conspiracy to blow a housing bubble, and the new housing bubble that is being blown in selected cities like Phoenix with cash. We are in a mortgage depression but cash is driving up real estate prices. That cash comes from the 1 percent.
And who cares besides you? Ypou seem to miss that point.
As a real estate broker I totally disagree with your notion that cash is driving up real estate prices. Sale prices are driven by other like sales which has been driven down by Short Sales and Foreclosures. Cash buyers only take advantage of depressed prices T market rates.
BTW; the Tea Party isn't going anywhere; you'll see Nov 6th.
Brick on brick. Eventually you bring down the Tea Party as people come to see that the Tea Party leaders are in bed with the TBTF banks. Cantor and Ryan are totally in bed with the banks, and want another housing bubble.
You are so good at calling attention to yourself. I find it a bit pathetic. Yes, now I know you'll create one saying, "The Frog Prince called me pathetic."
I will just add that to the current discussion Frog. It is all adding up.
But you need to look at your Tea Party. Cantor's wife worked for a bank that was bailed out by TARP. Bet you didn't know that.
Bet I didn't care either. Most people work for someone unless they are a sponge. That all adds up for sure.
You don't work, you get a pension from the government. The real libertarians would say that your pension is excessive, that it should be cut back. The real libertarians say that private jobs don't come with those great pensions. Think about it Frog, before you call other people sponges. That argument, which I disagree with, is often used against your type of pension.
I guess you don't call being a small business owner work. By the way, it's in the field of construction so of course I never work.
Respectfully, Sir, I just read that hub and the entire comment thread. I never once saw him use the word "idiot". I did see you go off topic and all over left field more than once, not to mention try to speak for the women of America. By the way, as one of them, you're way off the mark. Your not agreeing with The Frog's views and arguing back and forth in a comment thread does not justify this which seems to be much more of an attack on him.
Frog Prince is a waste of your time. Just don't do it. He is either incapable of argument or uninterested in it and all you will ever get from him is strawmen and insults. How many times have you been called son? Once was too many for me. My advice is to simply wipe your hands of him. Save your energy for positive and constructive dialog.
"You owe me an apology Frog."
Don't hold your breath. They never admit they're wrong, and they never apologize.
"...when he gets a military pension from, guess where, the government"
This statement is irrelevant to politics. The Frog Prince EARNED this pension by SERVING in our great Military! It angers me that any American would disrespect a U.S. Veteran in this way, regardless of political views. I have friends and colleagues who served and disagree with me in regards to political and economical issues. I still give them the appreciation and respect they deserve for their sacrifices. We just agree to disagree.
As far as the rest of your post, I'd like to see the entire conversation. Partial exposure or (30 sec soundbites) mean nothing. The words can be manipulated to mean something totally different. I prefer an entire video, entire blog, entire conversation in print, etc. before I can make an educational determination.
Everyone, please research credible, non-partisan sources in their entirety. Don't just take someone's word for it, or buy into the ads, soundbites, and the unproven rumors being discussed in the cubicle next to yours.
TO ALL WHO ARE LEGAL TO VOTE, EDUCATE YOURSELVES OR DON'T VOTE.
A lot of people earn the public goods they receive by serving this country and a lot of us get angry when any American disrespects ANY of their fellow citizens. There are a lot of crass and undeserved comments made about people who receive public benefits. Frog himself, makes some of them. I think Bgamall's point was to illustrate the hypocrisy of disparaging one form of public benefit whilst happily collecting another form of public benefit. I don't think their actual point was to disparage military service.
Well congratulations! You should wear that as a badge of honor ! the Frog prince is a little person, who has had his brain replaced by an eight track tape of the rush limbaugh show. I commited the mistake of commenting on one of his hubs once , and found out what a mean , ignorant individual he is , so i never did it again.
If you are angry enough to jump on board with someone else's complaint (gang up), and have nothing left to say to defend your position, chances are you lost the debate. It happens to all of us on occasion...just saying.
Welcome to the club. Frog Prince lives in an ad hominem logical fallacy, all bluster with no ability to argue against your logic or even defend his own points (if he even bothers to make them). I would bet he attacked you personally and repeatedly in his comment, but made no effort to actually argue against what you said. I personally love it when he rears his head to comment because he amuses me to no end. Of course, I carry industrial strength "Troll Away" at all times--Maybe you should go pick up a can at Big Lots. Regardless, he's harmless. If you spend your days worrying about what guys like him think of you, you'll end up miserable. Keep Hubbing, keep pissing him off, and eventually you'll enjoy trying to bait him into logical debate. I treat it like a game: something fun to play with that I certainly don't take seriously.
How true, but Froggy isn't worth anyone's time or energy. He's just another angry bigot and his writing style comes from watching too many Foghorn Leghorn cartoons. Scroll by his posts and avoid the digital dog-poop . . .
Wow Wiz, I thought I was the only one who heard banjos every time Frog Prince croaks some unintelligible nonsense.
I say, I say, here's some mood music for you ta listen to : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI_lRB-ezC4
I'm still waiting to see what it was you, bgamama, originally posted that triggered Frog's response or is it so bad you are ashamed to post it again. BTW you look awfully young fora 64 year old, or do you just like little boys?
You are sick, that is my little boy picture. No more discussion with you.
You are the sick one -posting your little boy on the internet for any wacko to see and identify through your posts - read my profile and maybe you'll learn something.
Oh way to go son. Then you wonder why peop[le call you son? Don't!
tsad - It's over there on my Hub about Stephanie Cutterocchio. He couldn't seem to get on topic and stay there.
Well if he didn't want to be labeled a whiner instead of posting your reply he should have posted his comment from your hub and asked if anyone thinks it merits labeling him as an idiot - instead he just wants to whine and attack you.
This is his post calling me an idiot:
bgamall - I call a spade a spade and an idiot an idiot.
It is also found in the first post of this thread.
He called you an idiot, the very first thing he said to you: "...clue us in to your brilliance."
I must admit my religious discussions are just as mature. Or maybe even more;p
For clarification: here is the bottom line, Frog gets a pension from government. He earned it in the military. I get a pension from county government. I earned it for saving the government money on food stamps and welfare that is issued.
I don't think a just war has been fought since WW2, but that is for another discussion.
Here is the deal, many people who are conservative would tell frog that his pension is excessive, that his pension is much better than you could get in the private sector. These pensions are under attack,
But I believe they were earned. They are a strength for main street that we have these pensions.
Yet some would say Frog, and I are sponges off government.
Raytheon is reliant on government every time the government gives Raytheon a contract. Government welfare comes in many different forms. Welfare for the banks was particularly costly to all Americans, especially since the banks fleece Americans first.
So, point is, Frog should not call the 47 percent sponges. He is failing to understand others think he is a sponge.
Still trying to rationa;ize huh? There is a distinct difference between being an infantry ranger tab wearing soldier and pushing a damned pencil. In the military it's known as deferred compensation. I never made enough money to do what I was often asked to do but I didn't do it for the money. I did it because I love my country. I would do it all again if needed. Now that's the bottom line.
Your problem is that you want to speak out of hand not knowing what the hell you are talking about. I also run a successful construction company right now. You can't survive on a military retirement. You need to stop with your tongue wagging about things you know nothing about.
That's the real bottom line.
The Frog Prince
Interesting to note that there are women now coming onto my Hub to bring facts to your sattention. Facts from a woman's perspective. Thanks for the aditional traffic. I appreciate it.
TFP
Yes' walk away, bgamail. Save your energy and keep your powder dry.
I think people posting insults and pedophillic innuendo need to step away from the keyboard. seriously. Its a pic as him as a kid and if that seem like porn to anyone... um... no comment.
This is not a political discussion. Just like the cheating husband who calls his faithful wife a cheater, in order to draw the attention off of his activity and on to a fictitious activity he projects onto her . . . when uber-liberals "debate" or "advertise" they very often employ this tactic. It is beyond me why anyone buys into it, and I suspect that over time it does fall apart for them. For example, the charity given by individuals has proven time and again that the lions-share come from conservatives - perhaps it is because so many liberals do not work? or their incomes are very low? See, I am honest enough to understand why conservatives give more. There are those that work and give, and those who do not work and take. I have no problem with this except for the huge fraud involved in the taking.
I am not sure what the remark "Must be a Texas woman" means. This Conservative Evangelical Christian Texas Lady will take that as a compliment.
Wow.. 84 posts? Really?
Has anyone actually reported anyone's insults to the moderators?
If so, then they have apparently been deemed within the TOS and generally accepted forum etiquette.
If not, does someone-- anyone -- feel reporting is in order?
Then do it!
The way I see it, Frog posted a hub on the pointing out the distorted perspective and spin Ms. Cutter is attempting in speaking for "all" women with regard to this upcoming election. The hub has nothing to do with the Tea Party or the housing bubble collapse. Now Frog, being Frog, is a stickler for staying on subject line. He will allow you to state your case but you need to be on subject. That is not so hard to understand I would surmise. With regard to the Frog's retirement, I seriously doubt that anyone could call a 50% of base pay pension for 20 years of service as "excessive"....ask the the union folks down at GM if they would take it. If one feels so passionate that they must show up on someone's hub and continue to attempt shift the conversation just to air their own views on a different subject, then go back to your own place and write a hub of your own. Otherwise, after you have been warned and still continue to persist, the behavior begins to warrant the award of a title. ~WB
Is anyone else getting a headache? Being new at this, I have learned some valuable lessons. 1) Don't rise to the bait and answer someone who didn't stay on topic. 2) When the headache first shows signs of appearing, stop reading, and stop following the post. 8-)
I must have come in at the end of this "back and forth". All I saw from the Frog was a request to stay on topic. The one post I read from bgamall was not related to the topic of Cutterichio (sp?). 'Nuff said.
If so, a simple, "please stay on topic" would suffice. Why are insults necessary or appropriate? Should we as a collective group accept it? To some extent, as a community, we rise and fall together. It seems worthwhile to fight for discourse to be at an adult level.
Frog has called me an idiot also and many others running to his defense have called me a rainbow riding hippie, delusional, stupid "smoking crack",etc. When these people can't win an arguement they call names and bully the person. The truth is that this is sad and ridiculous. We should all be able to act like adults. We don't have to agree on everything, but I have seen better manners out of kindergartners than in some of the comments sections. Myself, I decided not to visit their hubs anymore. I used to read and comment for the purpose of a true debate and sharing of information. Why do we expect to see bipartisanship in Washington when this is the way "the people" behave? It's truly sad.
I agree. However, you failed to mention that it happens on both sides. I encourage healthy, fact driven debate with sources in entirety. Everybody learns from healthy debate. Immaturity, shouting, and name calling only results in people not listening to your point and causes emotional responses instead of factual.
Hey Cuz. I don't do partisan debates anymore. Waste of time. I prefer actually doing something. Getting ready to right a hub about truth, and I'm going to smash both sides, but I don't even have enough time to write hubs anymore because of the Project, much less getting bunions on my ass defending or attacking a bunch of liars, and thiefs. I WILL get this one out though because when the people figure out that their vote didn't solve the problems, they can get busy and get some real work done. This stuff gets under my skin a little. I know they think they're getting something done with this crap, but it just ain't so.
Hey, long time no see:) I have missed you dearly, someone I HAVE learned from. I just put a new one out, bipartisan, hope you have time to check it out. I'm trying to be proactive as well these days, small scale, city government. But as always, If you need any help that I can possibly provide, let me know! Miss you cuz, glad your org. is doing well:)
Oh, I'll need your help! I'll find it kiddo. Let's show these folks how people of different ideologies show each other respect and learn fron each other. This is the new way. The old way is obsolete and we're going under because of it. I'll be looking for the hub tonight!
jim
Thanks cuz:) it's featured, just put it up tonight. I will be checking for yours as well. Anything I can do my friend, say the word:)
I read your new hub: http://themanwithnopants.hubpages.com/h … eople-Suck
Here is a critique. First of all, I have argued that there needs to be a wealth tax, because even if the 1 percent pay 40 percent of the taxes, they also control 60 percent of the wealth. I am calling for a wealth tax, and a payroll tax DEDUCTION on everyone else.
37 trillion dollars have been offshored by the rich, so that they do not have to pay taxes. Some of these schemes are fraudulent and are at best unethical.
Our corporations have trillions of dollars offshored, and they refuse to pay their share of taxes, while the US goes deeper in debt.
It all comes down to whether you are a sovereign man or a patriot. I don't think these folks are patriots at all. Romney is one of them. There is a new world order, and it is a financial one. It is stripping our government of authority and power. It was not always this way.
And that means rich from all over the world.
What is fair is what government, not the rich, should determine is fair. But the rich own the government at present.
Wealthy people were the beneficiary of Republican and Democrats changing the laws deregulating banks. The wealthy people actually used money they got out of the dot com bubble to invest in real estate, driving a massive bubble in US real estate.
Instead of investing in jobs and manufacturing, the wealthy fleeced main street. You probably were fleeced as well. Not one uber rich bankster has gone to jail for this.
You say there are no evidences of wealthy being corrupt. How about the entire selling of CDO's made from bad real estate loans the banks knew were bad, because they pulled the underwriters in order to push them through? That was fraud in the entire business structure and should have been prosecuted under RICO laws. But the banksters were not prosecuted.
You have to understand that the biggest sector in the US economy is big finance. They made trillions by scamming main street. They did not disclose that they no longer had underwriters and by the way, you couldn't afford that loan. They didn't care because they could pawn the loans off into CDO's. This is the biggest criminal enterprise in the history of mankind and they got off scott free.
You didn't even attempt to cover these truths. What were you thinking?
Holy crap! Two problems here. One, this says "Politics and Social Issues" .. . this subject is a beef one hubber has with another. That sucks, but it happens. I get it. Second, I'm working my ass off putting together the Housefire Project in order to change these things. If folks have this much time to sit at a computer, and argue about these issues, I'd love to have some of that time in order to actually DO something. Amazing. I know, I know. Everybodie's doing it. Thanks for the oppertunity to pimp my gig in any case. By the way ... My name is Jim Brown and I approve of this damn message, and I hope you don't delete it. "Saving a nation is a very cool thing to do."
I wrote this today, now more than ever, I realize why:(
Change A Nation
Torture of sidelines and watching the falls
Arrogance of knowing but knowing nothing at all
Learning is at a small pace and past is gaining speed
To remind of failures and complete shattered dreams
History in the making and repeating itself
Futuristic chaos and mishap is all that is left
Tomorrows can’t survive in conditions of our mind
Ignorance isn’t bliss nor knowing yet not having time
To alter the vicious cycle of mistakes of generations
One by one in ideas and actions could surely
Change this nation
So beautiful, and so true:) People are going to have to change before Washington will ever change. We must accept our responsibility in this mess.
Yes indeed we must:) They say it is never too late to make a forward move yet it will take so many to make a mountain move. Kinda like the getting a horse to water theory LOL
Hope you are having a wonderful evening Tammy
Thank you Momma Mia,You know, all of us love our country, heck we live in the best land on earth. Everyone likes to talk about our founding fathers; well I think they would be disappointed in all of us.We are Americans, we can do anything if we work together. I hope you have a good evening as well:)
bgamall: Frog is capable of defending himself (and then some), but I do feel a bit compelled to comment regarding your take on the Tea Party. You stated,
"The Tea Party is funded by the Koch Brothers, and their father cofounded the John Birch Society."
Really? News to me. I'm a politically active member of the Palominas Tea Party in southeastern Arizona. The founder of the organization is a lady who had attended a number of Tea Party meetings in Sierra Vista but decided she'd rather have something closer to home--so she simply up and started our group. She and her husband (also a member) have become close friends, and I can vouch for the fact that there has never been ANY "funding" from ANY outside source, be it the Koch Brothers or the Smothers Brothers.
You also mentioned in that post that Tea Party folks don't like helping the poor. Again, that hasn't been my experience...although a fair percentage of our members ARE poor, at least by American society's current standards. I've known Tea Party people who've given the last $20 they owned to a homeless man, opened their homes to both human and animal refugees from the Monument Fire in 2011, and a whole lot more. Every dollar of what funding we've enjoyed has been produced from our own pockets.
Certainly you must realize that what you just did is entirely different from what Frog usually does. You encountered something you disagreed with and responded with a fair and thoughtful counter narrative without using insults and without being dismissive. That is an entirely useful.
Frog doesn't do that. He dismisses and ignores arguments and then calls you names. Entirely un-useful.
I'm not in favor of directly calling people out on a forum, unless they did something like use a racial or homophobic slur.
It's better, in my opinion, to keep the forum discussions to political issues.
If you would have said a HUBBER (without mentioning who), called you an idiot, and used it as an example for something, I'd be fine with that, such as a Tea Partier not having facts on their side, or something of that nature.
bgamall,
Really? I've been called much worse on HP and either fought back or considered the source.
Perhaps what is needed here is a good dose of "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Maybe you'd be better off sitting at the kids' table over in Facebook. Just MHO, of course.

He has issued legal threats against local...
