What part of the 22nd Amendment does the President fail to understand?

I can remember when "Righty" was busy keeping us all in a tizzy about Obama's ambitions for a third term. Well, I have never heard Obama  mention the idea even in passing.

    "I deserve a third term"

Why does Trump have discuss the impossible? In these politically unsettled times, a suggestion like this should not be mentioned by the President of the United States, even in jest.  It makes me nervous as to where such comments lead and whether we can expect a fair election and a seamless exchange of power if Trump loses, or acceptance if he wins.

Acceptance does not mean that he will not be challenged as to his policies, approach and style. Which Chief Executive did we ever elect that wasn't?

Why not simply make clear to people that you will adhere to the laws established regarding Presidential terms of office as written?

    A little background.....

P.S. I don't think that with his portly form and the diet that he boasts to everybody that he has, fried chicken and McDonalds, that he could live through another 8 years on the job.

No need to worry Cred. Even if he believes his bluster, it is still just that. Putin might have gotten away with it, but it won't happen in the U.S. unless the people demand it, (and by people I mean more than just Republicans)

        Worry, me worry?

I have to think hard to find any President previous to this one that would "bluster", not  an man holding the office within my lifetime.

Maybe the Biden strategy has got merit, simp,y stay out of the way and let Trump's errant tongue be his undoing all by itself.

But this is a critical election and nothing can be taken for chance. I am overrun here in Florida with those pickup truck ( the kinds that you need an elevator for to reach the cab) running around with massive US flags and Trump 2020 flags connected on the back fender. There are a lot of those sort lurking around. This sort constitutes Trumps "secret weapon", that would seem to come out of nowhere, but when one look carefully at all theyard signs and placards, Biden needs to have the antidote ready to go.

I am also "overrun" with these types here in rural Oregon. They would LOVE to see Trump serve as long as he wants, which is obviously until death.

His supporters don't even pretend anymore. They want a king, as long as it is King Trump.

I have on a couple of occations heard president Trump make the statement in regard to deserving an added four years, he was stating that ingest. Always following up with him   "probably deserve it due to how I was treated for the first four years. He was clearly being sarcastic.

he did say he would not agree to take the outcome at face value. Always following up with his thoughts on voter fraud. He stated the same in 2016.

I would think he will accept the election if there are no reports of voter fraud. Hopefully, all goes smoothly with counts and nothing points to voter fraud.

Not sure about your thoughts on Trump's life expectancy. He appears to have endless energy, and it seems his only problem is a slightly elevated cholesterol level, which he takes a statin for. I would like to see a list of meds Biden takes on a daily basis. I think we have a right to see his health records.  As we have with Trump. I would think at some point Joe needs to put forward his health records. (You brought up a good point, in regards to life expectancy...  We need to have a good look at both candidates health records) I do know Joe has experienced two life-threatening brain aneurysms that required lengthy surgeries. He appears very frail, and at times disorienting.

Regardless of who is elected, we have got some very old men at the helm and questions about mental faculties of either one of them is valid.

Yes, having good mental faculties is very important for the president of the US. It would be futile for us to compare the two men. You have witnessed Biden in public settings, unable to take a question. Not sure how you could ignore that fact.

I think the debates will be telling of both men's mentation. As did the primary debates...

How?  Neither one will tell the truth, and neither one will actually answer the question asked.  Instead they will pontificate on whatever they want the listener to hear.

That's how debates work, isn't it?  A question is asked and the candidate ignores it in favor of talking about whatever (s)he thinks will give the best political platitudes or will give the poorest impression of their opponent.  At least that's my impression of debates - mud is King and that's all we're going to hear from either one.

The same way you ignore or excuse Trump's slurred words, slow gait, and multiple, unintelligible word salad moments, I guess.

I think what would be fair is when Trump puts forward his tax returns, then Biden would put forward his health records. I think that's a fair trade.

Getting upset about this is kind of funny to me.  President Donald Trump did not say "me" he said "we." As in the Republican Party.  What makes this funny to me is how he is so much more law and order than the Democrats.  Why would the Democrats care?  This is a party that turned a blind eye to the horror that was Benghazi.  This is the party that shrugged their shoulders at Hillary's Email, destroying cell phones, wiping servers and Bills White House treatment of interns.  Ignored the IRS being used to silence opposition groups to obama.  I could go on and on and on...so what do laws mean to Democrats?  It seems to me the only laws they care about are the ones they can get away with breaking.
