   White councilman in Indiana sparks outrage after proclaiming himself a 'lesbian woman of color' who is 'living life as my true self' - but angry trans local calls for him to resign.
   
   A white Republican councilman in Indiana has sparked outrage after jokingly declaring himself a lesbian woman of color in a Facebook post made earlier this month.
   
   Delaware County Councilman Ryan Webb wrote that he considers himself an Indian American woman, saying he finally feels comfortable sharing his 'true authentic self' - but many have not played into the farce.
   
   'It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well. I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well, since I am attracted to women,' he wrote in a post. Webb, a staunch Republican, first shared his 'true self' with the world on April 12.
   
   'Whew, that felt good to finally get that out there and start living life as my true self. I'm excited to bring some diversity to the county council,' he wrote.   
   
   'Until today we didn't have any females of color or LGBTQIAPC+++ on the council. I'm glad that now we do!' he continued. In a later edit, he doubled down on his statements by declaring himself the first lesbian woman of color in the county council's history.
   
   'It has come to my attention that I am more than likely the very first lesbian woman of color in the history of Delaware County to ever serve on the Delaware county council. I am honored to be the one to shatter that glass ceiling. #GirlPower,' he wrote.
   'I'm hoping that this individual is not making a mockery of what it means to be more in a marginalized community, but I have a feeling that that's exactly what is happening,' Black told WISH-TV.
   
   'I think he's a nonfactor. There are real issues that people need to be focusing on, policies that are going to impact lives. Unless he's writing a policy that is going to harm communities, that shouldn't be our focus,' Black continued.
   
   Not all who found the post were outraged, however, as many showed their support for the councilman. 
   
   'I love you, Congressman Webb…..about time to bring out the idiocy going on,' wrote one woman in a comment to his post.
   
   'The ironic thing is that I've always thought this about you. Stunning and brave!' another responded.
   
   'You go girl!' responded one more commenter.

   This is disgusting, assuming his behavior was a deliberate ploy. He has mocked the identity and life of others. He should resign, be fired, or undergo whatever legal process is required to remove him from office.

      Is it mockery when a man proclaims himself to be a woman because he took a few drugs, had some surgery and wears a dress?  Or a woman tells she is a man for the same kinds of reasons?
      
      That seems to really a matter of personal definitions, and transgender people are NOT the ones that get to set those definitions.  Regardless of how many times they scream it out, the definition of sex remains the same.

         I disagree. I don’t think the situations in your first paragraph are a mockery, though any surgical changes should be made when a person is an adult. People should have the right to identify as the opposite gender if they wish and to get medical and psychological advice when they reach the age of majority in their country. In addition, the councilman identified himself as a “woman of color.”
         
         I agree that there are some problems with people who wish to live their lives as the opposite sex, such as the use of male or female washrooms by people not born of that gender. In our present society, there are some lines that can’t be crossed. Hopefully, in the near future these problems will be solved.

               If he is sincere, he needs to demonstrate that he is because of his sudden admission. In addition, if it is true, he became a councilman under false circumstances or at the very least has changed his opinions since he became one. That could be a point for discussion. You don’t seem to think he is sincere because of your comment below that “he is holding a mirror up to the left.”

                  He is holding a mirror up to the left who support a man who identifies as a woman and then wins the NCAA swimming championship. Let us ignore the fact "she" still has "her" man parts as well as a girlfriend. There is the left support of a man who was a convicted rapist saying he was a woman during the trial and then being put in a woman's prison.  Guess what happened?  I must also mention the women who have been assaulted in a bathroom by a man claiming to be a woman.  These are just two of many examples. The left needs to look at these things and realize they are the reason these things have happened. 
                  
                  Far from resign, County Councilman Ryan Webb should be given a bravery award for brining attention to the stupidity and ignorance of the left. Not to mention the harm it has caused biological females.
                  
                  If I could, I would vote for him.

                     I agree that the incidents that you have described are horrible. How do you know the motivation of the councilman in such detail, though? Also, how do you know that everyone on the left supports the activities that you have described?

                           I said “assuming” and was taking his post at face value. The councilman did mock others and deserves to receive consequences. I want to know why he did it in more detail.

                        He's not trying to put it to his advantage, he is only trying to make a point. He's not altered himself on bit.

                        Without the support of the left, they would not be able to happen. It is the left that protects the Trans swimmer, it is the left that protects the trans that attack women in the bathrooms. In Virginia, they tried to cover -up a trans boy attacking a girl in a bathroom.  It is the left that has enabled a male claiming to be a female into a women's prison.
                        
                        Where is there any outrage from the left? All the rage comes from the right.

                           There are many on the left that support such activities, not all. Just as there are many white supremacists and white Christian nationalists among the Rightwingers, you don't want to be considered one of those do you?

                              Minnesota and California just passed laws that underage youth from around the country can go there and receive transgender treatments WITHOUT parental consent.  Those are two states with large populations.  I think this speaks loudly about how the majority of those on the left feel about the transgender issue.
                              
                              If not everyone on the left supports the majority opinion of the transgender issue, who on the left is opposing it?

                                 I, for one, am on the left, and I oppose it. And if there is one like myself, there are others.
                                 
                                 I hold parents responsible for minors, consequently, such procedures should be made available only to those over 18 or for minors with parental consent.
                                 
                                 I wouldn't let my 16 year old nephew get a tattoo without my approval, because if something goes wrong, I am responsible. When he gets to be 18 he takes his own risks and bear the responsibility for his decisions and actions.

                                    I believe you are the exception. Most left leaning states have passed laws promoting trans gender transitions.
                                    
                                    There is a trans gender woman (biological man) in our area who refers to biological women as "chest feeders," "bleeders," gets angry if you refer to a "pregnant woman," yelling it is a "pregnant person," and has told teenage biological girls that having ovaries does not make them a real woman.
                                    
                                    A real gem of a person.

                  No, he does not need to demonstrate he is sincere. We have been told by the left that all you have to do to demonstrate that you are a woman is declare yourself a woman. You can then participate in womens sports, use womens bathrooms, etc.

            Then was it just the claim to be Native American ("of color") if not the claim to be the opposite sex of what he was?
            
            When it comes down to the bottom line, both (my example and the councilman) are claiming to be the sex they are not.  If one is a mockery then the other must be as well.  Outside, of course, of the race claim...which may in fact be true.  We don't know about that tidbit.

      I applaud him. He is holding a mirror up to the left.  If there are no absolutes and anyone can be what they want with no regard to biology, this is what happens.
      
      Is he any worse then men who become women to win at sports?

   People have the right to identify with whatever they want.
   Trying to force the rest of us to join their charade is a completely different subject.
   Funny how those demanding we accept them as the opposite sex, cats, furry things, or whatever, are now outraged. Pretty intolerant from those who demand tolerance.
