My dad listens to this clown only to mock him and I happen to catch this babbling idiot tell his listeners that he would pack up and move to Costa Rica (a country that has universal health care) if the Health Care Bill passed. Well it passed (although I agree that it needs some revisions and amendments) and he's still here! I'd be willing to help him pack! What's he waiting for?

          What Rush said was -

“I’ll just tell you this. If this passes and its five years from now, and all that stuff gets implemented, I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.”

He later retracted and modified - but the original offer was to MOVE.

Rush Limbaugh Chooses Costa Rica for Health Care
            Aug 23rd, 2010 | Category: Health
Coming from a conservative icon, this is a great compliment for the Central American nation.

In March 2010, Limbaugh stated on his radio show, with listeners in the tens of millions, that he would go to Costa Rica for medical treatment if Congress passed the reforms to the US healthcare system, commonly known as Obamacare.

You do not listen to Rush or you would know that he said he would get his Health Care in Costa Rica.  He never said he would move there.

But the left wing media misquoted him, thus your diatribe!

      1. kerryg profile image85
kerrygposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Regardless, if he's going to get his health care in Costa Rica, he's going to be treated by doctors trained and paid for by a medical system far more socialist than anything that was ever even proposed in Obama's health care reform efforts, let alone what eventually passed.

This information has to be coming from somewhere.  I begin to wonder how true it is, with all the Democrats jumping ship...  Makes me think there is some truth to what is being said.

US President Barack Obama has expressed his desire to stay at Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, which bore the brunt of the 26/11 terror attacks. During his stay in Mumbai, Obama is also expected to visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, which was also one of the centers of the terror attacks, said Government sources.

That's about the dumbest threat I've ever heard. Move to a place where they have universal health care because the place he lives in now passes universal health care.
He does realize that they speak Spanish there, right?

Here's what the Costa Ricans would no doubt say about Rush coming to their country. They would refer to him as:
Ma'e, used akin to the English word "dude", although literally meaning something more like "idiot". Generally spoken among friends. It's pronounced 'my'.

We have Universal Healthcare in the UK. That doesn't mean you get it for free. Every working person contributes, then any time you need healthcare you can have it, in the confident knowledge that you are not going to be stitched up with unexpected bills just when you need it least.

  6. lovemychris profile image77
    lovemychrisposted 13 years ago

    Rush on drug addicts:

Dec. 16, 1994: "So we're not going to get on -- we don't fault these
animals for a lack of discipline, but we get on human beings who are fat
for lack of discipline and you know it and I know it. But here's the
thing that struck me about this. We have alcoholics and drug addicts in
our society, don't we? And what do we say about them? Well, they can't
help it. Why, it's genetic. Why, they have a disease. Why, put one
thimbleful of scotch in front of them and they can die.' We totally
exempt them from any control over their lives, do we not? Some athlete
will spend two years snorting lines of coke. 'He can't help it.' You
    know, it's -- it's just -- it's not -- it's -- it's genetic. These
people -- they're predisposed to having this addictive syndrome. They --
they can't help -- yeah, like that line of cocaine just happened to
march into the hotel, go up to the athlete's room and put itself right
there in front of him on his blotter."

    Even better:

Jan. 15, 1996: "... there were a couple of drug convictions out in -- I
think it was a Colorado court. And these guys had -- had done some
really bad stuff, and there were mandated federal sentences for the
crimes they had committed. And the judge apologized to the criminals
while sentencing them because he thought it was too severe. He
apologized and the community was outraged. So we've gone from a judge
sentencing a mother who makes her child beg six months in jail, to
judges apologizing for getting dope dealers and crack dealers and drug
salesmen off the streets with too severe a sentence."

Remember how he was crying that the gvt was unfairly targetting him for Doctor Shopping?
Ooooo, then it was too severe for him, but of course, not for a mother.

In all honesty not all hubbers that lean to the left sound the same.

            Every individual is different.

Grouping people together as in "liberals" makes it easier to disparage the entire group, that is not fair.

I do not appreciate when someone does that to conservatives so "I do not believe that two wrongs make a right"

I try and treat all of the hubbers in the forums as individual human beings instead of categorizing them just to attack the group.

            Just a Thought!

Thanks! I believe in calling a spade a spade. Anyway I think it's fair to put liberal thinkers in a group because they are proponents of collectivism, so it's fitting. Why would I treat them as individuals when they don't believe that individualism is good or worthy of protection?

You are free to think and say whatever you want, my point is that each human being IS an individual with different thoughts.

"Why would I treat them as individuals"

Because it is the foundation of conservatism and each and every human being deserves to be treated as the individual that they are.

Either way they have a right to think and say whatever they wish to say.  I will defend every humans right to free speech, even if I disagree with the message.

It is so much easier to have negative feelings towards a group.

It is much harder to treat everyone individually.

Actually, LMC, the president is going to India to talk about trade.  More outsourcing.  The study of global economics and global sourcing tells us that in order to maintain a status quo among nations, to elevate less priveleged countries, we source products from them even though we can create the same product at home.  We pay tariffs, have trade deficits, impose embargos, etc. all in the name of fair trade, to put it simply.  Many corporations outsource (have business in foreign countries) because it is cheaper to do so.  They pay little or no tax until the product is exported back to the U.S.  Ironically, it is still cheaper for them to do business this way.  If you owned a business, I am confident you would find the most cost effective way to do business.  I could be wrong though.  Maybe you are a true idealist and would simply give all your money to the poor.

P.S.  We are no longer the richest country in the world and haven't been for a long time.  We could be but we're not.

counter; his agenda for the summit is on his web page, he is asking India for Investment in U.S. based business, not out sourcing jobs.

The decision to out source is a corporations alone, it is not done by the Office of the President....think a bit.

he wants to Tax Corporations that take their profits from Operations outside the U.S.  he is actualy trying to stop it, not help it.

I do not agree with everything he does, but he is not out-sourcing us at all.

He spoke today about a raw goods export deal, and possibly making that tarrif  friendly in order for us to do that, it increases Jobs and exports.

he also spoke of Market opening negotiations to. He knows we need to sell to be able to produce, and have jobs.

India wants a trade deal with the U.S. and also  Military upgrades  to be added on to it, specificaly The F-18 Hornet. to update thier French based out dated air force. France can not support the up-keep of the planes with replacement parts.

Thus: IE one Navy carrier group will be there also. There is much more going on here than what you are implying.

and if you are questioning the arms deal, then think for a min..?
what would Pakistan be doing with it's nuke capability, if India was not there, with us, as a neighbor on thier border..?

much to think about and walk carefully about here... smile

Really, this thread has degenerated into "You lie" and "Rush is dumb?"  Is that the extent of reasoned discussion here?  Rush Limbaugh is an extremely talented entertainer and a clearly and honestly partisan political analyst.

There are plenty of entertainers we are expected to elevate as examples of wonderful thinkers and reformers.  George Clooney and Bono leap to mind.  We are supposed to accept the political analysis of talking heads on MSNBC, CNN, NPR as objective and non- partisan.  The only difference between Rush and these people is his political philosophy.

If one were to spend anytime reading about the recent history of the radio broadcasting business they would quickly understand that Rush almost singlehandedly rescued the AM band.  His syndication model opened radio broadcasting up for thousands of radio programs many of which are not political.  As a radio pioneer on a new frontier of broadcasting he has been very successful and not because of who listens but rather that they listen.

He is in no way shape or form honest.

He is  Dem basher from way back...that's his specialty.

      "Pot-Smoking,Draft-Dodging Philanderer in Chief"

That was the beginning of President-Bashing. That's when I could not believe my ears, and stopped listening. It is now amp-ed up 290%.

Truth has no place in smearing and lie campaigns.

"Mr. Olbermann’s contributions were in apparent violation of MSNBC policy."

Too bad Fox doesn't have the same policy. They are a campaign platform for Republicans and Baggers.

        Evidence to support?

        More lies?

If you had bothered to fact check rather than shoot from the hip, you would have discovered that GE, like most corporations gives roughly equal amounts to both parties (that should tell you something).  If Republicans are in control, they get a little more - same for Democrats.

Fox has nearly all of the potential 2012 presidential candidates on its payroll. And Sean Hannity has been doing fund raisers for GOP candidates.

    Here's proof the windbag lies:

    So does Michelle Bachmann-Turner-Overdrive.
She's the one who started this crap about Obama's India trip costing 200 mil a day.

"Cooper (Anderson) played clips of pundits such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage harshly criticizing Obama for supposedly wasting taxpayer funds on his trip during a time of austerity."

Meanwhile, It's not true. We spend 180 mil a day in Afghanistan... how could his trip be more than that?

Lies and the lieing liars who tell them.......Need I say more?

Evey single Republican in the public eye all spout the same talking points......to the tea. (haha) And they are NASTY ugly and VILE.

    "Oh, money money money....MONEY
Some people got to have it..hey hey some people really need it"

    They never answer a question.

What will you cut? *chirp* *chirp*

Why are you extending tax-cuts when they balloon the deficit? *chirp* *chirp*

Letting the Bush tax cuts expire is NOT a tax increase!

Those tax give-aways are CAUSING the deficit.

They do NOT create jobs in America...we hemorrhaged jobs during the Republican years.

Are Republibaggers in the same universe?

Tax cuts cause deficits?? LOL So letting me keep MY money causes the governemnt to spend money it doesn't have? Spending has NOTHING to do with it? Obviously Chris pays the bills in your household! LOL

We hemmoraged jobs? Gee, in spite of the 9/11 attacks and two wars Bush maintained an unemployment half of wehat it is now! LOL and you say we're in another universe? LOL

Actually, LMC, tax cuts don't balloon the deficit.  Spending does.  If I understand you correctly, you want more money taken out of your paycheck?

I'm not in the same universe you're in.  Of that I am sure.

No I do not. I can barely survive as it is.
I want more taken out of the Uber Rich, since Bush gave them such a good deal when he was in charge.

Time they pay the piper, which the rest of us have been playing in order for them to Jump in income beyond measure.

Look at the income gap....do you think that happened by accident?
No--it was public policy that did it. Cheney; "You are our base, and we will support you."

Enough! They can pay to live here and contribute like the rest of us....many of whom work our butts off simply to exist.

The McCain-Kennedy Immigration Bill, the medicare drug benefit, the steel tariff, McCain-Feingold Bill and George W. Bush signing it... there are several times when Republicans and George W. Bush supported policies with which Limbaugh disagreed that he spoke out against them.  As for speaking out against the Tea Party Movement - what policy that they support would not be supported by Limbaugh?  If there is one I do not doubt that he will speak out against it.

Did he personally insult Bush, or just insult the policies?

His insults on Obama, and Clinton are and were purely personal, and nasty.

Did he do the same to Bush and McCain? Feingold, I'm sure he must have insulted personally.
