My dad listens to this clown only to mock him and I happen to catch this babbling idiot tell his listeners that he would pack up and move to Costa Rica (a country that has universal health care) if the Health Care Bill passed. Well it passed (although I agree that it needs some revisions and amendments) and he's still here! I'd be willing to help him pack! What's he waiting for?
What Rush said was -
“I’ll just tell you this. If this passes and its five years from now, and all that stuff gets implemented, I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.”
He later retracted and modified - but the original offer was to MOVE.
I actually heard the show. You are wrong! He said he would go to Costa rica for healthcare, and he was joking!
If anyone is interested in the TRUTH!

Rush Limbaugh Chooses Costa Rica for Health Care
Aug 23rd, 2010 | Category: Health
Coming from a conservative icon, this is a great compliment for the Central American nation.
In March 2010, Limbaugh stated on his radio show, with listeners in the tens of millions, that he would go to Costa Rica for medical treatment if Congress passed the reforms to the US healthcare system, commonly known as Obamacare.
You do not listen to Rush or you would know that he said he would get his Health Care in Costa Rica. He never said he would move there.
But the left wing media misquoted him, thus your diatribe!
Regardless, if he's going to get his health care in Costa Rica, he's going to be treated by doctors trained and paid for by a medical system far more socialist than anything that was ever even proposed in Obama's health care reform efforts, let alone what eventually passed.
He was joking! He is brilliant at PR and he knew the mass media would jump all over the story, thus More listeners.
Rush may be a lot of things but dumb He is not!
Rush Limbaugh is not brilliant at anything but duping rubes into believing his nonsense.
That may be true, but he does have the largest radio show on the air. He also receives quite a bit of advertising money. I would like to be as dumb as Rush.
PT Barnum made a fortune in a similar fashion. It's better to earn a more modest income and do it honestly.
C'mon Rush is a legitimate businessman. Even if you disagree with everything he says, you cannot deny his success. PT Barnum was also a great businessman and actually defined advertising.
He is dishonest, hypocritical and the classic snake oil salesman. He does make boatloads of money. So do drug dealers; I don't respect or admire them either. Anyone who does needs to do some serious soul searching.
I respectfully disagree, he is a successful entertainer. If you do not like him that is fine. To call the man dishonest and hypocritical is opinion only with no basis in the Truth.
Snake oil salesman? What does he sell?
He does sell, more successfully than most, radio advertising spots for all the stations that carry his show making them profitable and able to continue employing people. Considering his show is on over 600 radio stations his 15 hours a week keep thousands of people employed - maybe President Hussein should institute a Rush Cloning Program as a job creation solution.
The video you posted was all opinion. I did not even here the quote that caused the controversy. All I saw mas Ms. NBC using Rush Limbaugh's name once again to try and improve their ratings.
The worst thing about the video is the realization that our Troops are in harms way and some of them are making the ultimate sacrifice. Anytime a troop is injured or killed the Nation takes an enormous loss. I want our troops HOME!!!!
I did see this though Rush's actual words.

NEWSFLASH!
Keith Olberman suspended without pay indefinitely from MSNBC for violating their ethics policy in making several maximum contributions to democratic candidates... liberal bias in the media??? NO!
http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2 … donations/
Olbermann Suspended From MSNBC for Campaign Donations
By BRIAN STELTER AND BILL CARTER
Keith Olbermann, the top anchor on MSNBC, was suspended on Friday after the channel discovered that he had made campaign contributions to three Democrats.
The MSNBC president, Phil Griffin, issued a statement saying, “I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay.”
No one at NBC News would speculate about what this might mean for Mr. Olbermann’s future, though one NBC executive suggested this was not a step toward firing him.
Politico had reported Friday morning that Mr. Olbermann’s contributions were in apparent violation of MSNBC policy.
Mr. Olbermann hosts the most popular program on MSNBC, “Countdown.” He worked at MSNBC in the late 1990s and re-joined the channel in 2003.
He has long been a volatile figure inside MSNBC, in part for his polarizing points of view. He has sometimes clashed with Mr. Griffin and other managers over editorial decisions, and he has been publicly critical of some of his former bosses.
Mr. Olbermann did not immediately respond to a request for comment after the suspension was announced Friday afternoon.
The "they do it too" defense is used desperately and frequently by some.
I am no fan of Ohlberman, have stated so many times here. I hope he gets canned for this. Liberal BS is no more palatable than conservative BS, you just hear much less of it.
But not balanced..that would be going to far
I think this country would be waaaayyyy better off if ALL the democrats packed up and moved to Cuba where they can live their lives under the form of government they seek with all the wonderful benefits!
The Democratic party does not advocate a Cuban-style government. You are lying once again.
You mean no American democrat will admit that's what they want! They are the liars, working to enslave us all with entitlements, wrecking havoc on the nation, killing jobs... fools all of them! Fools and liars!
All Liars ha? As opposed to the Truth you guys tell like that Obama will be spending 200 million a day of taxpayers money in India and when pressed to respond where they got their information they reply confidently "the internet"....right....because we all know the TRUTH is the only thing on the Internet right? Or how about the fact that each and everytime the Fox people get caught B.S.ing the public they NEVER EVER retract those lies? They just tell each other to "go around lying and we'll back you up".
My husband NEVER goes on the Internet, yet he called me to tell me that indeed Prez. Obama was going to India, the amount of money to be spent was astronomical, the plan was to rent the Taj Mahal. He got his information from the radio. He is a truck driver and that is all the info he gets, from the radio.
This information has to be coming from somewhere. I begin to wonder how true it is, with all the Democrats jumping ship... Makes me think there is some truth to what is being said.
It is not the actual Taj Mahal, it is the hotel that was attacked by terrorists.
Obama wants to stay at Taj Mahal Hotel, visit CST
November 06, 2010 6:06:56 PM
PNS | New Delhi
US President Barack Obama has expressed his desire to stay at Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, which bore the brunt of the 26/11 terror attacks. During his stay in Mumbai, Obama is also expected to visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, which was also one of the centers of the terror attacks, said Government sources.
http://www.dailypioneer.com/282171/Obam … t-CST.html
He's staying at a hotel called the Taj Mahal, not the actual Taj Mahal.
Your husband should question the propaganda he hears, not eat it up hook, line, and sinker.
That report came from unnamed sources in India. Obviously the proper work to verify the costs wasn't done. Funny thing is, the White refuses to say what the cost will be.
question please? who actualy wrote the health care bill?
what person or persons and when? I have been trying to locate that and can not find it.
That's about the dumbest threat I've ever heard. Move to a place where they have universal health care because the place he lives in now passes universal health care.
He does realize that they speak Spanish there, right?
Here's what the Costa Ricans would no doubt say about Rush coming to their country. They would refer to him as:
Ma'e, used akin to the English word "dude", although literally meaning something more like "idiot". Generally spoken among friends. It's pronounced 'my'.
(We didn't pass universal health care. We passed universal health insurance, an entirely different thing. )
Surely it was the health insurance that was the root cause of all the problems? Have the insurers been reined in now, or do they still insist on co-pays, exclusions etc?
Wow, co-pays? You mean we might actually have to pay for part of our care?
Oh, the humanity....
We have Universal Healthcare in the UK. That doesn't mean you get it for free. Every working person contributes, then any time you need healthcare you can have it, in the confident knowledge that you are not going to be stitched up with unexpected bills just when you need it least.
He's wasting his time. Viagra only works if you HAVE one, not if you ARE one!
Perhaps it's the Oxycontin he's after! He loves the pain killers ya know! What a guy! LOL!
Yes, he loves his Oxy, that's for sure. While lambasting drug addicts.
The guy is as two-faced as they come....
Can you show me where he lambasted drug addicts?
Rush on drug addicts:
Dec. 16, 1994: "So we're not going to get on -- we don't fault these
animals for a lack of discipline, but we get on human beings who are fat
for lack of discipline and you know it and I know it. But here's the
thing that struck me about this. We have alcoholics and drug addicts in
our society, don't we? And what do we say about them? Well, they can't
help it. Why, it's genetic. Why, they have a disease. Why, put one
thimbleful of scotch in front of them and they can die.' We totally
exempt them from any control over their lives, do we not? Some athlete
will spend two years snorting lines of coke. 'He can't help it.' You
know, it's -- it's just -- it's not -- it's -- it's genetic. These
people -- they're predisposed to having this addictive syndrome. They --
they can't help -- yeah, like that line of cocaine just happened to
march into the hotel, go up to the athlete's room and put itself right
there in front of him on his blotter."
Even better:
Jan. 15, 1996: "... there were a couple of drug convictions out in -- I
think it was a Colorado court. And these guys had -- had done some
really bad stuff, and there were mandated federal sentences for the
crimes they had committed. And the judge apologized to the criminals
while sentencing them because he thought it was too severe. He
apologized and the community was outraged. So we've gone from a judge
sentencing a mother who makes her child beg six months in jail, to
judges apologizing for getting dope dealers and crack dealers and drug
salesmen off the streets with too severe a sentence."
Remember how he was crying that the gvt was unfairly targetting him for Doctor Shopping?
Ooooo, then it was too severe for him, but of course, not for a mother.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/11 … nce-plans/
That's the result of this awful health care bill!
Fox news....nuff said! Enemy territory.
Kids stay on til 26.
NO denying care for pre-exisitng conditions...like pregnancy. Thought your camp was pro-life? You want people to not have babies because they can't afford it?
Tax the Uber's more...we have no problems.
Stop breaking the bank so wealthy people can hoard more.
It's simple.
Hedgefunders are taxed at 15%...come on!!!!!...JUST make them EVEN with the rest, and voila.
Remove the cap on FICA...voila.
It's not rocket-science. It's politics.
Sure! Take from the rich...let the evil rich pay and the evil, evil corporations! It's the job of the government to keep us free, not enslave us or create a class society, taking our property by FORCE and telling us what's good for us! You should move to Cuba so you can see how that system works!
She didn't say rich people were evil. You are lying.
She reacts to strawmen more than she does to actual statements here. It's a pattern.
Yeah go back and read some of the left wing posts here! You liberals all sound the same, you hate the rich, hate capitalism, hate everyone that doesn't think like you!
No one has said that, at least no one who doesn't work in the right-wing media.
You are lying.
Nope, she's not, I have discussions with liberals all the time (the result of being alone conservative in a liberal career venue), and yes, they basically disagree with much of what has made this country so great.
I'm not going to say they hate America, but they certainly have a different vision for it than I do....
Your second sentence is true.
Hers were intentional misrepresentations of others' words - lying.
You have to admit, Ron, Lovemychris talks in riddles. She always talks in riddles. She expects people to understand her inuendo. Surely it will be misinterpreted because she never talks in complete sentences, just snippets.
Maybe not in those words but the sentiment was clearly implied and if you honestly don't think so, well then, whose the liar now?
Nice attempt at a retraction. To do it properly, you should say, "I'm sorry I lied and will try not to do so in the future".
In all honesty not all hubbers that lean to the left sound the same.
Every individual is different.
Grouping people together as in "liberals" makes it easier to disparage the entire group, that is not fair.
I do not appreciate when someone does that to conservatives so "I do not believe that two wrongs make a right"
I try and treat all of the hubbers in the forums as individual human beings instead of categorizing them just to attack the group.
Just a Thought!
Thanks! I believe in calling a spade a spade. Anyway I think it's fair to put liberal thinkers in a group because they are proponents of collectivism, so it's fitting. Why would I treat them as individuals when they don't believe that individualism is good or worthy of protection?
You are free to think and say whatever you want, my point is that each human being IS an individual with different thoughts.
"Why would I treat them as individuals"
Because it is the foundation of conservatism and each and every human being deserves to be treated as the individual that they are.
Either way they have a right to think and say whatever they wish to say. I will defend every humans right to free speech, even if I disagree with the message.
It is so much easier to have negative feelings towards a group.
It is much harder to treat everyone individually.
I treat people as individuals, but liberalism is a philosophy held by individuals and as a group they are simply, wrong.
lady_love - You sound like a hypocrite. You clearly do not read what you write. "liberalism is a philosophy held by individuals and a a group they are simply wrong". based on what do you make this blanket statement? And it is a statement that actually makes no sense, are they simply wrong as individuals and not as a group? Right wing Republicans are a group and they are simply, wrong, and BIG FAT BS LIARS. Does that sound true to you? It does to me. But it's a blanket statement and that is wrong. I am condeming people based on their opinions and insisting they are wrong when certainly there must be things that they get right. It is ignorant and therefore I would never say it and mean it. You, on the other hand, meant it and that my friend, is whats truly WRONG.
What will happen if all the uber rich simply move out of the country? Many of them probably already own homes outside the Nation.
How much revenue will be gained from them if they no longer reside within our borders?
Yes, and they outsource jobs in other countries too, and put their money in banks in other countries to avoid taxes here.--President Obama did something about that!
The Dems want to stop giving tax breaks to companies so they can outsource!! Who do you think blocked that? Yup..the America-Hating Repubs. (if Lady is going to"infer", I am too)
They have gotten a real nice ride for a real long time!
Meanwhile they pay poverty wager, kids go HUNGRY, people don't care...in the richest country in the world!!
Actually, LMC, the president is going to India to talk about trade. More outsourcing. The study of global economics and global sourcing tells us that in order to maintain a status quo among nations, to elevate less priveleged countries, we source products from them even though we can create the same product at home. We pay tariffs, have trade deficits, impose embargos, etc. all in the name of fair trade, to put it simply. Many corporations outsource (have business in foreign countries) because it is cheaper to do so. They pay little or no tax until the product is exported back to the U.S. Ironically, it is still cheaper for them to do business this way. If you owned a business, I am confident you would find the most cost effective way to do business. I could be wrong though. Maybe you are a true idealist and would simply give all your money to the poor.
P.S. We are no longer the richest country in the world and haven't been for a long time. We could be but we're not.
counter; his agenda for the summit is on his web page, he is asking India for Investment in U.S. based business, not out sourcing jobs.
The decision to out source is a corporations alone, it is not done by the Office of the President....think a bit.
he wants to Tax Corporations that take their profits from Operations outside the U.S. he is actualy trying to stop it, not help it.
I do not agree with everything he does, but he is not out-sourcing us at all.
He spoke today about a raw goods export deal, and possibly making that tarrif friendly in order for us to do that, it increases Jobs and exports.
he also spoke of Market opening negotiations to. He knows we need to sell to be able to produce, and have jobs.
India wants a trade deal with the U.S. and also Military upgrades to be added on to it, specificaly The F-18 Hornet. to update thier French based out dated air force. France can not support the up-keep of the planes with replacement parts.
Thus: IE one Navy carrier group will be there also. There is much more going on here than what you are implying.
and if you are questioning the arms deal, then think for a min..?
what would Pakistan be doing with it's nuke capability, if India was not there, with us, as a neighbor on thier border..?
much to think about and walk carefully about here...
Oh but didn't you see? The we care for Middle America Republicans first thing on their agenda is to make sure the rich don't lose their tax breaks. Stupid ignorant Tea Party people actually bought the Republican lies and helped them in this election. Forgive him, for they truly know NOT what they've done.
But it's a blanket statement and that is wrong. I am condeming people based on their opinions and insisting they are wrong when certainly there must be things that they get right. It is ignorant and therefore I would never say it and mean it. You, on the other hand, meant it and that my friend, is whats truly WRONG.
Oh how soon one forgets one's own words!
Really, this thread has degenerated into "You lie" and "Rush is dumb?" Is that the extent of reasoned discussion here? Rush Limbaugh is an extremely talented entertainer and a clearly and honestly partisan political analyst.
There are plenty of entertainers we are expected to elevate as examples of wonderful thinkers and reformers. George Clooney and Bono leap to mind. We are supposed to accept the political analysis of talking heads on MSNBC, CNN, NPR as objective and non- partisan. The only difference between Rush and these people is his political philosophy.
If one were to spend anytime reading about the recent history of the radio broadcasting business they would quickly understand that Rush almost singlehandedly rescued the AM band. His syndication model opened radio broadcasting up for thousands of radio programs many of which are not political. As a radio pioneer on a new frontier of broadcasting he has been very successful and not because of who listens but rather that they listen.
He is in no way shape or form honest.
He is Dem basher from way back...that's his specialty.
"Pot-Smoking,Draft-Dodging Philanderer in Chief"
That was the beginning of President-Bashing. That's when I could not believe my ears, and stopped listening. It is now amp-ed up 290%.
Truth has no place in smearing and lie campaigns.
"Mr. Olbermann’s contributions were in apparent violation of MSNBC policy."
Too bad Fox doesn't have the same policy. They are a campaign platform for Republicans and Baggers.
Right and GE and NBC doesn't support this administraion and their agenda? LOL
Evidence to support?
More lies?
If you had bothered to fact check rather than shoot from the hip, you would have discovered that GE, like most corporations gives roughly equal amounts to both parties (that should tell you something). If Republicans are in control, they get a little more - same for Democrats.
Sure whatever... so what are all the "Green" shows on NBC about?
Science, or as teabaggers refer to it- a socialist plot to conquer America.
Fox has nearly all of the potential 2012 presidential candidates on its payroll. And Sean Hannity has been doing fund raisers for GOP candidates.
Here's proof the windbag lies:
So does Michelle Bachmann-Turner-Overdrive.
She's the one who started this crap about Obama's India trip costing 200 mil a day.
"Cooper (Anderson) played clips of pundits such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage harshly criticizing Obama for supposedly wasting taxpayer funds on his trip during a time of austerity."
Meanwhile, It's not true. We spend 180 mil a day in Afghanistan... how could his trip be more than that?
Lies and the lieing liars who tell them.......Need I say more?
Evey single Republican in the public eye all spout the same talking points......to the tea. (haha) And they are NASTY ugly and VILE.
"Oh, money money money....MONEY
Some people got to have it..hey hey some people really need it"
They never answer a question.
What will you cut? *chirp* *chirp*
Why are you extending tax-cuts when they balloon the deficit? *chirp* *chirp*
Letting the Bush tax cuts expire is NOT a tax increase!
Those tax give-aways are CAUSING the deficit.
They do NOT create jobs in America...we hemorrhaged jobs during the Republican years.
Are Republibaggers in the same universe?
LOL! OMG! Liberal logic is like bizzaro world!
First it's the left that is filled with hate! Tea baggers, racists, even Obama called us the enemy!
Since when is a atx increase not a tax increase? When the liberals say so! LOL Bizzaro!
Tax cuts cause deficits?? LOL So letting me keep MY money causes the governemnt to spend money it doesn't have? Spending has NOTHING to do with it? Obviously Chris pays the bills in your household! LOL
We hemmoraged jobs? Gee, in spite of the 9/11 attacks and two wars Bush maintained an unemployment half of wehat it is now! LOL and you say we're in another universe? LOL
Actually, LMC, tax cuts don't balloon the deficit. Spending does. If I understand you correctly, you want more money taken out of your paycheck?
I'm not in the same universe you're in. Of that I am sure.
No I do not. I can barely survive as it is.
I want more taken out of the Uber Rich, since Bush gave them such a good deal when he was in charge.
Time they pay the piper, which the rest of us have been playing in order for them to Jump in income beyond measure.
Look at the income gap....do you think that happened by accident?
No--it was public policy that did it. Cheney; "You are our base, and we will support you."
Enough! They can pay to live here and contribute like the rest of us....many of whom work our butts off simply to exist.
Rush Limbaugh calls it like he sees it. He is a brillian political analyst and chastises both parties equally when called for.
THAT my dear, is a matter of opinion.
Name once when he chastised Republicans. Name once when he chastised Tea-Baggers.
thank you.
The McCain-Kennedy Immigration Bill, the medicare drug benefit, the steel tariff, McCain-Feingold Bill and George W. Bush signing it... there are several times when Republicans and George W. Bush supported policies with which Limbaugh disagreed that he spoke out against them. As for speaking out against the Tea Party Movement - what policy that they support would not be supported by Limbaugh? If there is one I do not doubt that he will speak out against it.
Did he personally insult Bush, or just insult the policies?
His insults on Obama, and Clinton are and were purely personal, and nasty.
Did he do the same to Bush and McCain? Feingold, I'm sure he must have insulted personally.
"Rush Limbaugh Calls Barack Obama our “First Anti-American President”
