Your first problem is yourself, move self out the way and all your problems will be gone.

Hmm...not necessarily true. Some problems begin with ourselves. Some are inflicted upon us.

If i remove the self from myself, then all I'm left with is my, I don't see how that will help.

"Your first problem is yourself, move self out the way and all your problems will be gone." Sounds like a bunch of wishful thinking with no actual solution.

Yes, I suppose if I remove myself from the equation, my problems will be gone, but then, so will I.

What if you are a child with problems? Would it be the child's fault? Your God does not help everyone with problems (if he were real).

"Let God" has sometimes been associated with "letting go", and in the quiet and stillness inspiration may be found like putting our attention on the problems of others. This is not exactly removing the self, it is more like seeing beyond ourselves.
