I use Psalms 27 as a prayer quite frequently but I guess it's not--quote, unquote-- a "prayer".
The Lord's Prayer is another one of my favourites.
I would have to say it would be the one that gets answered. If I am just talking to a wall then hearing myself speak only tends to make me feel silly after a while.
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Rub-a-dub-dub thanks for the grub, yay god.
Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, whoever eats the fastest gets the most.
Good bread,good meat,good god lets eat.
Just trying to be funny, don't take this too seriously.
My favorite prayer, one that I say everyday, is to pray for TRUTH. And for wisdom, and for discernment.
After 35 years as a Jehovah's Witness, and upon snapping out of the fog of lies that engulf their membership, all I started praying for was TRUTH.
Please God, don't ever let me believe a lie again. Only TRUTH. Only YOUR TRUTH, and YOUR WILL be done! Give me discernment to recognize and obey your perfect TRUTH!
I pray that every single day. God wants us to worship "in Spirit and in Truth." How can anyone do that unless we ask Him for it!
King James Version
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
My most favorite of all time prayers just has to be
"Glory be to the Father,
and the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning,
Is now and ever shall be-
One World without end;
I think it is the most Beautiful prayer, as it words embody
thanks, reverence for the past as well as reverence and the decision to help create a better future. I think that it expresses our Creator(s) faith in us, as humanity.
Deep in my Heart, I do believe, that We shall Overcome one day.......
My favorite prayer is found in psalm 27.the lord is my shepherd i wil lack nothing. Goodness and mercy wil follow me
I pray that Christians would piss off and let me read the words of Jesus, without any "help"
