I like your questions.  To me, I can't answer "who" is God because he is also what, when, why, how and so forth.  I don't know if that makes sense or not.  : )

God is awesome and I feel it would be difficult for me to NOT believe in him.  I believe in God for many reasons, and although my parents were not religious, did not go to church, and my mom was always kind of skeptical, it feels like I have believed in God all of my life and I attribute a lot of that to my grandmother.   Believing in God and knowing he is there has always been something it seems like I've always known.   There were times during my life such as when I was a teenager and young adult that I would not have admitted it, but for the most part, I've always known God.

But what brought me back to reality and knowing God is always there is when on one occasion about 15 years ago, I made a stupid decision to drive intoxicated and and speed over 100 miles per hour on a dangerous stretch of a California highway, Interstate 5.  Well, although I was completely aware I had no gas in my tank, I sped down the road only to run out of gas about 20 minutes later.  I was in the middle of nowhere, the closest gas station was about 15 miles down the road and it was beginning to get dark outside.  I stepped out of my car and flagged down a trucker.  He gave me a ride to the nearest rest stop so I could use the telephone there.  It was summer and there were black widows everywhere.  He offered me and my son, who was 7 at the time, (I'm embarrassed to say he was with me.) to sit in his truck and wait for my dad who I had called to help us.  I was about 45 miles from home so it took him a bit to arrive.  The truck driver waited with us the whole time.  Obviously, everything worked out, my dad arrived, we got home fine.  But, after that, I knew without a doubt that God exists because that is one of the most dangerous roads and there have been so many fatalities and injuries on that highway, not to mention the truck driver was safe and kept watch over my son and I to keep us safe.   I was lucky that we only ran out of gas.

Loving God and believing in him has helped me to always try and be a good person and a good daughter to God and my parents.

God is a six thousand year old mythical entity invented by the astrologer priests of ancient Sumer. They called him 'An': which was also the Sumerian word for 'sky' or heaven.

The Sumerian priests engendered belief in their mythical pantheon of gods for the same reason that every religion and its priests - that has existed since those most ancient of days - has engendered belief in theirs: it allowed them to interpose themselves between the gods and ordinary men and so portray themselves as the interpreters of divine will.

This, of course, allowed them to direct the actions of others and gave them power over the people. And so has it ever been.

There are those - on the other hand - whom have not been fooled by any of this: we are called atheists.

The guy who likes to use me for target practice. Why do I believe in him? Because He'll damn me if I don't.

    1st q = God/Allah is my Creator.
2nd q = It's bit silly not to especially when you look around the world and the nature and the order in which everything comes and goes.
