Do you think  dreams have meaning? If so, How would you interpret the apprearance of snakes?

Last night I dreamed of snakes.  I remember only that there were dozens of small colorful snakes.  I was bitten on my hand by a bright red one.  It stung and I remember asking someone if I should worry about that.  I can't remember all the details, but it seems I was trying to help the snakes..???  I'm one of those "animal rescuer" type people, so except for the fact I'm terrified of reptiles I do think my purpose in the dream was the help the small snakes.  If anyone has any insight to that, I'm listening.  smile  Thanks.

Most dreams reflect what may be disturbing us, our fears, our good experiences, and our present mental state. A thing may have been upsetting to us and we have dreams in a way of dealing with this. Some dreams seem trivial and have nothing to do with what we think is important in our everyday lives, yet some factor caused us to have this quirky dream. As far as snakes in your dreams these may represent a fearful event, something about snakes that reflect what you perceive as a threat to you or family, or a life long fear of a thing that pops up when you have anything else fearful in your life. What we watch on T.V., listen to in the form of music, or read about, can all influence our dreams. Dreaming is like a therapy that naturally occurs in our minds and helps us to deal with what is going on in our lives. Dream on.

Your helpful personality is a great thing - I thank You for that but as the saying goes: "You can lead the horse to the water but you cannot make it drink".
Thus, I would make sure my help is needed/wanted before I offer it - sometimes even help may be taken in the wrong way (I know it shouldn't be so but it does happen ...). Hence the bite, in my opinion.

Emotions  (the colour red) always play a role when we decide to help. Try helping with a feeling of detachment. Leave passion behind and help because there is a need to help and not because you feel bad for someone or something ...

Just some thoughts Amiga - I wish they may help a little. The thing with dreams is, they are our subconscious talking and since You know yourself best, you are indeed the best person out there who can interpret your dreams.

    Cheers and all the best!

P.S. I see the dream as an experience in your future. And those snakes in your dream are not really snakes ... just like I am not really a wolf all the time : )

I think your dreams are affected by your subconscious mind. Maybe since you are afraid of snakes it means you feel vulnerable or at risk of being hurt.

I'm going to explain some of the symbolism from your dream. You've got quite a few ...

    Snake - wisdom, knowledge or transformation/self-renewal.  Hidden fears or worries that are dangerous or threatening to you;
    Red -  love, warning, anger
Hand - relationships with those around you and how you connect with the world
Help/helpful - willingness to compromise your belief for greater good/accomplishments.

Here is my interpretation on it:

Someone or something is taking advantage of you or your emotions in your waking life. You are afraid of confronting this person for fear of "rocking the boat." You don't realize that you are compromising yourself in the process, hence you asking someone else if you should worry about it. It could also mean that someone else is angry at you and you are aware of it but simply ignoring it. To generalize it could mean that you are going through some sort of disagreement with someone and you need to find a middle ground in order to move forward with your life. Only through consulting with yourself could you get more clarification on the issue though.

    Hope it helps. Good luck!

Thank you all for your insight.  VERY HELPFUL!  There are a lot of decisions I must make soon and I worry how those will affect others in my life and what they will think of my decisions.

I've been thinking that within the dream when the snake bites, I was VERY concerned about it, but kept to my task , trusting that whomever was with me would let me know if that was something to be concerned about.

    Thanks again!

I found this question very interesting because I always think my dreams mean something. I have a dream dictionary of all things and in it  says that if you get bitten by a snake this means a period of struggle against unfortunate circumstances . Being red has something to do with you temper, as for the amount around you that is supposed to indicate that you are in danger of being cheated by someone you trust .

I hope this helps you in any way

Snakes are usually a symbol of deception, sickness,a warning to you.
The snake being a bright red snake that bit your hand could be someone close to you,at home or work.Is there someone you have been trying to help also? it could mean they may turn on you in a deceitful way.Either way snakes in a dream can be related to present or coming sickness in your life or someone close to you.It is always a warning.Hope that helps.

Yes, I am. I do believe that dreams are real, the future, and meaningful; because most of my dreams are fulfilled. Since I was 24, I couldn't forget almost 95% of my dreams. I have been reading the dreams of Daniel in the book of Daniel, and the dreams of Joseph in the book of Genesis of the Holy Bible; the fulfillments of their dreams are enough to prove that dreams are real. Let's go back to your query, you are asking the interpretation of the appearance of snakes; many said that snake means traitor (I agree). I have own meaning of it, for me it symbolizes an evil or wicked person. I think you will meet wicked people, which you will adore because you are blindfolded with their true colors. Maybe, they will betray you. I hope that the real meaning of your dream is not what I think.

Snake according to the Bible implies Satan This dream could mean deception.Little could mean that there are things that you are considering insignificant but could potentially be dangerous. I would say be careful of who or where you hang out with. The color red means war and blood. Maybe there is conflict between friends? Maybe you could be involved in life or death situations? I have a website that talks about how to interpret dreams and you are welcome to browse by...http://www.rhema56.com/2011/06/what-does-my-dream-mean-lets-face-it.html

My understanding of dreams is that all the parts of them are parts of you...so the bright red snake and your hand are parts of you. Thus, perhaps, it feels as though there are many parts of you that are bright and vibrant. There is also a part that is reaching out, but instead of being able to take that help or gesture of kindness, a single and perhaps angry or very passionate part (the red one) is biting it and hurting it.
Dreams like this are common - we all have many sabotaging aspects of ourselves that hold us back from moving forward in life. It seems that you are torn in some way about moving on or resolving something. But snakes can also represent deep hurts and real fears so perhaps it is also your subconsicious asking you to slow down a little and take some more time...
But dreams are complex things and to really make sense of it I would need to know much more about you and your situation, so please, if any of this is unhelpful, discard it...best wishes.

Snakes usually mean trouble. It can mean someone is trying to make a fool of you or is trying to use you.
