If you get to heaven and God asks, "Why should I let Y O U in?"
What would your answer be?
For me personally, I'd have to tell him, "Becaused you said you would." Sorry, I don't have a real ground shaker for this one, but it would be my honest reply.
~ jim
Because Jesus loves me and no matter what sins I have committed he forgives me.
Before I went there I would want to know why I would want to go there.
Going to heaven is like selling everything you own, saying goodby forever to your loved ones and friends, giving away all your money and then opening up your well publisized travel broshure only to find the pages are all empty. Who in his right mind woold want to go somewhere forever when not one single being on the planet knows one tiny little thing about this place everyone seems to be clammering to go.
Why is that?
I know why and so do you....
Your travel agent is a professional con man. That's right, you know the guy. The guy that works in the building on the corner with the steeple and bell. The place where you pay your money every week but never seem to leave with anything tangible.
Yup, it sounds like a pretty boring place to me. And I'm told they don't even have Pepsi machines there for Christ sake. Better think about it folks.
Craig, calm down bro! The question is "If you GET to Heaven and God says "why should I let you in" If you found yourself in front of the old Pearly Gates, you wouldn't ask to come in based on your opinion of the place. Question does't apply to you
At this point in my life, I'd have to say, "Sorry, God. I let you down. I have not yet followed Christ as I should have, so I don't deserve heaven."
That's why I strive every day to examine myself, to caution myself, to subdue my ego until it is gone.
This is the spiritual me learning to walk. It's baby stuff, but it still seems so difficult. Perhaps that's why Christ called it the "narrow path."
I know that mouthing the words, "I accept Christ," is not good enough. I know that "feeling it deeply" is not good enough. I know that only by doing what Christ taught can we truly be following him, otherwise we are following the master of this world -- ego.
I hope and pray that we all make it.
lone77star,
You said it beautifully brother.

Hey, for 74 years You made me play a game to which You already knew the ending , so to be fair let's just get on with it and let me in.
"Because you made a promise to Abraham!, Besides, if you don't, your Sons sacrifice would go in vain."
Because your Son died for my sins and I am covered by his blood..............................
Because of his grace he sent his son to die on the cross for all of the world's sin, His son being Jesus Christ and I believe. This is what I would say to God, while on my knees before him, That I believe and have accepted his son through his grace as my savior and have tried to strive to please him. I know this is a hypothetical question, But I think when I get to Heaven Jesus Christ will welcome those who have accepted him with open arms.
Well for one, God would not even ask such a question when we stand before Him.
Read my comment again, This is what I said. God Bless.
I don't think he will ask this question if you arrive in heaven, but if he does I would answer, "Because I am forgiven. Jesus died for my sins".
I'd say, "You tell me". But that is too short of an answer to post in this stream... So I'd add this.
You might think I'm crazy for stating this, but ever since I was a young kid I actually believed I was already in heaven, and that everyone of the folks who told me otherwise were pretty much lost and I still feel this way till today, but anyhow's to accurately answer your question I would have to say to the lord.
Dear God -
"You know I've tried my very best to live a well balanced life. I had some truly awesome moments indeed, and my life in the flesh was truly a joyous and wonderful experience as a whole. Even though I did some things that were a deterrent to my individual progress as a youth, and not conducive for that of my family or my peers at times. I feel that I do indeed deserve to be where I fit in, up there high beyond the clouds with you and all of my ancestors as well as angelic beings, because I lived for love in itself, and for that of the benefit of humanity just as you've taught me. I beg of you lord, please have mercy on my soul and to forgive me for all of my trespasses."
'Because I know what you did last summer.' Would be my response.

Can only Christians and those who accept Jesus Christ go to heaven?According to Christianity, only those who have openly accepted Jesus Christ and the Christian faith may go to heaven. If that is the case, what about the African tribe who has never heard of of Jesus? Even if they are good people,...

Christians, If you sin and die 5 minutes later do you go to hell?So if you don't have time to ask for your forgiveness do you go to hell? Can your God forgive you and accept you into heaven even if you didn't get a chance to ask for him to forgive?

Why is it that all Christians seem to think if your not Christian, your Satans spawn?I've read the bible a great many times and I don't remember it saying anything about non Christians being Satan worshippers or Satan spawn. I don't even remember it saying that all Christians would go to heaven as...

Do you agree with this? It seems to me that some of the holier than thou christians on this site legitimately believe with all their heart that those who do not believe in their god will have special front row tickets to hell/eternal punishment, yet still try to play off that their god is just and...
