God never changes, his teachings are solid, literally set in stone, and they are the moralistic founding basis of the USA.

Ashleign, God does not change regardless of what beliefs change. Truth is singular & unchanging. What you believe does not change what is, but what is should change what you believe.
If everyone stopped believing in God, God would still exist.

I find it very difficult to believe people don't understand that God is change, God is everything, part of everything and everything changes so change must be at the top of his agenda because it happens all the time, If not how could things improve?.

Actually the sun and mood won't always be there, nor the earth for that matter. The stars you see aren't really what you see, what you see is hundreds or millions of light years in the past. Those stars might very well not exist anymore.

Everything changes, nothing stays the same. Everything you look at is different the next day, even if you can't see it with the naked eye. Rocks slowly deteriorate, roads are heated and cooled and buckle, grass grows and is cut again, rivers swell and dry out.  Humans alone are basically "new" about every seven years from old cells being shed and replaced with new ones. So, there isn't anything that never changes.

The world doesn't stand still; everybody knows that.  To say that change doesn't change, is a total contradiction by definition.  For example: Does the molecular structure of H2O change from the definition of what we call water?

    11. stanwshura profile image72
stanwshuraposted 10 years agoin reply to this

I repeat that I said the only thing that never changes is the STATE SUCH THAT all *else* is ever changing.  That is a true constant and a big difference from your point, which is apt but misplaced.

My immediate answer would be the past.  However, we've shown messing with quantum entanglement can change results of a past experiment.

Maybe the distant past, but I don't think physicists will agree on that one either.

Anyway, I am frustrated with the God answers.  Regardless if you believe in a God or not, peoples' interpretation of any sacred text changes.  In the past, some Christians put homosexuals to death.  Today, some condone it.

You might argue that God himself never changes, but "sacred texts" would indicate otherwise.  In the Bible, for example, God of the old testament is very much different than the new.  I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind.  I just wanted to voice my frustration.

This is a difficult and at the same time a easy answer. It depends which way you look at it, either from a mans view point or a woman's view point  or something universal From a man's  view point what never changes is desire for a woman. Even if a man is 75 this desire never goes away. It can only be suppressed with prayer and mediation.
There is a bigger question. Is it wrong?

Each day the sun rises, it must rise upon my back in labor. For learning is a task not made for weak or sometimes people.
These these change: love, devotion, earth wind and fire, war and peace. But I grow no matter what.
When we know we are not captive to a given set of facts or beliefs. We do not change we remain the same in a quest for knowledge.

Ashleign, your essence never changes. The essence of all human beings. Your essence is also called your true self or original self or the Self. Socrates lived hundreds of years before Jesus Christ was born. Socrates taught that the most important thing in life was the soul. This is what he was talking about when he said "Know thyself."

When you know yourself that never changes only then can you feel perfect peace and everlasting love. You were here before time and space existed and you will be here after time and space is gone. Now if you only knew lazy ways to make money on the internet, that would make you really special!

The laws of nature have been destroyed by the laws of man. Nature does show as a constant. Nature was present on other planets as well, and were destroyed. Hence Change. Habitats change, as does nature.

The past is the only thing that never changes.
It is all we know and all we can know.
We can not know the future; and by the time our mind processes the present it is the past therefore we can not know the present either.

We use to think that the USS Maine was sunk by an undersea mine. It was later determined that a fire in the coal hold caught fire and ignited the ammunition hold. The battleship sank. We used this information to go to war.

That didn't change the past, only our understanding of it.
Our knowledge and understanding can always change but the past is sealed in reality.

Borsia - we are just now learning bout Quantum Physics and the question arises "can we change the past" .... it just may be we can. Strange yes.... but we do not know what we do not know.

I was working on how to answer you, Borsia.. Neil hit the nail on the head. All things made simple with science. Now if we can figure out how to change, change.

Niel that is quantum theory that it might be possible at any rate it has never been done so that past hasn't changed. And since we can only perceive the past if we do someday change the past it will have been done in the past making it unchanged.

    7. Ashleign profile image82

Quantum Mechanics, is fact, not a theory.

    8. Borsia profile image40
Borsiaposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Quantum physics is fact being able to alter time and / or the past is theory.
As I said given that we can only see the past even if we somehow altered it, it would be in the past thus the past remains unchanged.

Time is a completely human concept that again however doesn't change the past as we accept the definition as that which has already happened.
As I said we can only see the past and it never changes regardless of time or how we depict it.

    11. Neil Sperling profile image61
Neil Sperlingposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Borsia - The fact that is has not been done does not mean it is impossible to do.... The past may well be changeable, this we do not know for certain. Based on what we know it can not be changed... the unknown awaits

Only when something has been done does id transcend from theory to fact.
But if someone did eventually travel in time, time travel would be in the past as would be anything they did.
It would likely destroy the present. Butterfly effect 101.

One word - intolerance. That seems to not change much no matter how hard people fight to change it. Tolerance isn't just about race and religion, either. Tolerance even includes other people's opinions and thoughts. Tolerance means so much and it's just sad that if there was more tolerance in the world, there might be more peace. I mean, I know it would take a heck of a lot more than just that to bring world peace, but it's a start.

    1. Ashleign profile image82

Intolerance changes, one who is intolerant can learn to become tolerant. Types of intolerance change, therefore, intolerance changes.

That's very true, but what I meant is that we're in the year 2013 and everywhere you look you still see intolerance. It's alive and well. All you have to do is read the comment section of a news article. There's ugliness and intolerance everywhere.

God's character will never change. It is the constant guiding moral standard by which we can truly know right from wrong. If God's character changed, morality would change and nothing would make sense. This is because if today murder is wrong because taking life dishonors the image of God that person had, if tomorrow murder is ok, then the image of God means nothing and there would be no objective truth in the universe. In essence, without God, anything goes.

    1. Ashleign profile image82
Ashleignposted 10 years agoin reply to this

You are right.. Without God, there would have been no crowd control, without fear of reprisal. This is also why many books of the bible were essentially edited out, from fear of people reading that they can do as they please. Your god, does change.

What never changes is the sun rising and setting, babies being born, the pregnancies of different species and their deliveries .We all die.  The most important unchanged fact is God's love and promise to us all.

That can change. The sun might die, evolution may stop births (Like that movie "Children of Men") and who knows about God, you just believe in some ancient book that could be someones Imagination, he can't look after 7 billion people.
