If God would give you His complete power for 24 hours what would you do with it?

I have pondered this question the first time when I was a kid. And I must have change my answer maybe 50 times or so since then. Not that I expect something like this to ever to really happen to someone. But  if I had the chance to really do something positive for the whole world, this would be my only chance. How about you. What would you do with it.? Please note: I will delete any sarcastic or insulting answers.

I would be deathly afraid of using it at all, being of such corruptible thought.  I would promptly ask God to take the power back.  If he wouldn't, then I suppose I'd start answering prayers.

Beautifully humble. But if God gave it to you, wouldn't you want to do good? Wouldn't you hunger to learn? We already have these abilities. We just need the humility, responsibility, faith and love to let them shine.

I know that I do not possess the capability to handle or manage such an effort.
There are many things that I can do and do well for my circumstances.
For those things that I am not capable of providing, I turn to the experts.
This is more true in this case because God handles all problems that I cannot.
God will always be my great leader because I know he handles the job very well as the supreme expert.
Therefore, I would immediately give it back so that it is handled correctly.

Fear has nothing to do with it. But intelligence has everything to do with it.
Intelligent people know that it requires an expert when you want the job completed correctly. Anything less than that will result in an unfavorable ending.

And I am reminded of the servant who hid his talent under a bushel and it increased not one bit. And Jesus talked of the servant being whipped for that failure.

So, you think you cannot learn? Wake up. Walk on water

The question is why would God need someone here to exercise his power to 'do something wonderful' in the first place? Why not just intervene himself rather than granting his power to someone to do the job for him? To contemplate what one would do with that power implies that one does not think God is doing a proper job managing the world already. I guess that the fact we do not see great interventions in humanity that he has a hands off approach to the affairs of the World.

Wow my friend, what a question. I have thought and thought about what my answer would be. I have always came to the same conclusion. It wouldn't take 24 hours. I would be finished in a matter of minutes. I would tell our lord and savior Jesus Christ to finish it. Come and get his people and take us home away from all of this world's heartache and pain. This is my answer my friend. God bless!!

If God wanted me to have that power for a day. He must want me to be me with it and not God. So I would make myself a gazilbillionaire. And own the majority of all stock in the world. And then I would make me the most motivational wonderful ethical moral wise man that ever lived. And then I would rule man's earth as a mighty and benevolent and kind philosopher king.

I would only rid the world of one thing. Hateful hurtful violence. I would bump up ;the love factor a little but not disrupt how perfect we already are. I would rid the earth of all genetically altered things but leave the knowledge intact. So if we really wanted to we could use it for good.
Nuclear explosive devises would all go poof. Again we could redo but we would be smarter.
I would swim to the lowest anywhere part of the ocean just to see what is there. And I would dance on the moon like a goon.
I would leave every cultural language intact but add a second one that everyone could speak.
I would be so sorry that I could not get rid of suffering and disease and hunger. I do not get the reason for it but I will not mess with that.
I would put everyone at their perfect weight. Just to start off better.
I would make a real Santa Clause. No forget about the bunny but maybe fairies.

Probably I would end my day's reign by one great big old -- get rid of all pollution and garbage. (I know people live off it- but again just for the day, it will come back)

So I would be exhausted and declare the next week a holiday!!!!

There are only two things I would do.. First, I would prove universally to everyone the existence of God. Then I would clarify exactly what was meant with the bible for everyone to understand so that everyone can make a more informed decision on what they want to do with their lives. Then I'd give the power back because I'd be too tempted to do so much more

I guess I would resist the urge to visit heaven and do for mankind. I would drop manna from heaven to feed the poor in the entire world and I would send 10,000 angels to free children from harm.

I believe we have victory over everything that is in God's will but we have not because we ask not.  I don't pretend to have all the answers. Sometimes it (faith) seems almost too simple but I believe we have power over everything purchased by the blood of the Lamb.

I heard John Hagee say one time that as a young child, he had seizures and I think he was diagnosed with epilepsy.  His mother fasted and prayed and fasted and prayed some more.  Finally, a concerned person said, "How long will you keep up the fast?" and she replied, "As long as it takes."  For six months, she fasted and he was healed.  I couldn't fast for 2 weeks I don't think!!

I leave you with one final thought from John Hagee:  Little prayer, little power. More prayer, more power.  Much prayer, much power!

There are lots of things that you can do to make the world better and you don't have to have any of God's powers to do them.

Think of all the great people in the world who started something all alone, and turned it into something that became history.  For example, the first woman who decided that women should have the same rights as men; the first person who decided that they were going to change their diet so that animals wouldn't have to be murdered because of them; think something something simple like helping an elderly person lift a heavy package.  You may have saved that person from having a heart attack, with that seemingly small act of kindness.  And let's not forget Bill Gates, who started Microsoft in his garage!  Now the whole civilized world has internet smile

To answer your original question, I wouldn't want God's power.  How can you use something that you really don't understand?

But, we all have abilities that we were born with, that we can use to make things better.  Use what you have.  That's the way to make a difference.

As Lord Acton said, power tends to corrupt, but that is true only so long as we have ego -- the heart of selfishness -- the wedge we drove between our true selves and our Father in heaven. Without ego is love.

I honestly would sleep that whole day. No human interaction, nothing. The reason being is that I am not wise enough to know what to do with that power. I believe that every thing happens for a reason. There is no such thing as coincidence. You cannot rewind time (presently). I would love to say end hunger or give everyone shelter, but just as I would love everyone to be happy and healthy, I can see much dire consequences. I was actually praying last night about why humans need love and connection so much. I realized that since we are shaped in His image that God to need this because just as much as He feels the Good, He feels all the Bad. Without Bad, there is no Good. It is only through His wisdom that we can continue to live our lives through all the Good and all the Bad. One day it will all end, but if God gave me His power for a day it will be to end the world because that will be what will happen.

I would probably not accept the offer.  A "normal" answer might be something like "end world hunger," but I think that if God, or me with God's power, did something like this, it would defeat the purpose of humanity and its free will.  Anything I would do to make the world a better place would be totally human.

Since having God's power would mean having omniscience as well as omnipotence and omnipresence... and assuming this means that He/She does indeed know best what to do with said powers... On assuming God's power I would have God's knowledge and so undoubtedly I would continue exactly what God has in place already. It is, after all, a DIVINE plan and so any deviation from it would be a lessening of it rather than an improvement. Am I wrong...?

My point was not about authority - I was saying that if you had God's power this should  also give you the knowledge to know what to do with it and you likely wouldn't do anything different because what is already in place is, by definition, perfect.

This is a great question, but I would keep in mind that since God would always be God after the 24 hours, it would not matter what I did because God could undo what ever I did if God did not like it.

That said, I would take all the living entities to the most beautiful spiritual world that I could imagine forgiving all of us and liberating all of us in all the realms of the universe.  I would eliminate all suffering for the living beings and give everyone a fresh start to be in a very loving and caring realm.

I would grant everyone else's wishes as long as they did not want to harm any other living entity. I would grant all types of mystical powers to the living entities and let them do as they please.  That would be the first ten minutes.

Then I would go to the beach with certain friends and watch the universe in peace. I would ask God to join us and enlighten us as the children of God.  I would also ask God to take a form so we could just play and have fun as friends.  I would also ask that we keep our friendship for eternity, that would mean more to me than having my own planets.

    Best wishes

By having God's complete power would mean that He created another "God" making you equal with Himself. The problem with this is that by having God's complete power you evolved from something that is dependent and finite. This would mean that you had a beginning. Some of the the requirements to having the complete power of God is to be infinite, eternal, omniscient and uncreated; therefore, being a created "God" with a beginning, and the complete power of God is impossible.

King Solomon asked for wisdom; look at his folly. What we do in the "positive" for the whole world is meaningless unless God's grace is working in us. Any deviation from this is simply a notion away from the humble dependence on God.

He did give us complete power, but we threw it away. (Gen.1:26 and Gen.3)

We covered ourselves with the cloak of selfish separateness which some call "ego."

We became lost in that separateness and unable to see without physical eyes. But before humans, we had no ability to hold continuity of consciousness. We could not solve the puzzle of our own rescue. But even with continuity of consciousness, some of us continued to throw away the power -- the kill the rescuer.

We are each "sons" of God, if we return to our spiritual ways, but the path is narrow. Ego, because it is physical (energy that takes up time), will not fit through the narrow doorway to the source of creation. We have to leave behind all physical attachments, especially ego.

What would I do with that ability? Help others to find it, again.

I would ask God to start over and change things or leave them as they are if SHe so desired. I hope SHe would remove evil from the world, but I'm not sure even SHe could do that.

ncwriter-Clearly God's word reveals His plan to remove all evil from this world. And He has set His own timing to do so. I have no doubt He can and will. Thanks for your answer and many blessings.

let's see, I would give all the psychopaths a soul so they could feel the pain of their wrongdoings (thanx, Angel)... then I would spread all the media with truth so that humankind could understand why with their own free will they choose to end war, hunger, and get serious about ending disease (with those psychopaths already out of the way)... then I'd probably jam out with the Beatles.

I would end hunger child trafficking child pornography child prostitution and violence against anyone.the i would give myself 5 billion dollars and the ability to create anything i imagine.

Nothing.  I am not capable of handling his awesome power, I neither have the compassion or the wisdom required to handle it.

{Paraphrasing} Ephesians 1:18-21 " I would "give unto (all) the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him" and give all "...eyes of understanding; that they may know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance is in the saints and "what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward (us), according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him for the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come!"

My desire is "NONE" is lost!
