I know the answer, but i want to first hear from you all.

Jesus Christ is God.........No other can claim what he has achieved, not Mohammud, not Buddha, not Krishna, not Shiva, even Allah is questionable to who he is, or who they say he is.

God is the singular omnipotent being in theistic and deistic religions who is either the sole deity in monotheism, or a principal deity in polytheism. God is most often conceived of as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe.

Excellent description.I would say All of existence rather than this universe however. Also that creation is the result of Gods[not the Demierge]emanations rather than focusing on creating. In terms of Physics there are a number of possibilities. There was a beginning that was a Singularity[big bang]or existence came into being in a Myriad fashion[everything distributed in the beginning] or Cycles of infinite existence{We can not apprehend].
The latter is the basic tenet of Christian Gnosticism.

God is perfected, real and tangible as you and I with a body of flesh and bone.  He is the pinnacle of perfection and eternal progression.  He is our Eternal Father and as such has proven the way of exaltation, perfection and immortality for all His children - us.  He has bore the trials of mortality in His own time and place, and has conquered the serpent's head.  He is everlasting and knows us, individually, better than we could ever know ourselves.

There are hundreds of ways to say the same thing and we are doing just that. and argueing about it all the while.
It is these commonalities that we should focusing on and discarding the rest.

      2. britneydavidson profile image61
britneydavidsonposted 14 years agoin reply to this

@goldenpath, like you told "He is our Eternal Father" right?-it means father is one and we all are his child. So we are same like father--right??-Now how our father looks?--how can we all a child of only one father??--so we have to think over it.

Our father is incorporeal and in same way we are incorporeal  ( we are also soul, as body is our costume) so soul is very small same like our father (God) is very small but he is full of virtues, and we have lost our virtues. Child of one father is possible only in soul conscious form.

So now again father has come to give us our virtues. We have to understand how the God is and how we are his child. God is incorporeal that every religion has accepted. Like Jesus christ told he is messenger of God and his finger on top showing God is on top. In Japan also all they meditate in front of light. Rest i will tell you later on.

        Hope you all understand this.

I respectfully disagree, which is great because we all have that liberty and freedom to believe as we wish.  That alone should be celebrated. smile

I believe God, the Eternal Father, is corporeal.  As a perfected being there are means beyond our comprehension for God to beget, without number as we know it, many sons and daughters.  We were individuals, along with our gender identity, prior to mortality when we lived and learned from our Father.  As such we were taught the principles of salvation, progression and exaltation.

We accepted the Plan endorsed by the Father and the Son over that of he who was cast out along with a third of all the hosts of heaven.  Because we accepted it, we were granted to progress into and through our second estate, mortality, which journey the third who were cast out shall never know.  What was the basic difference in the plans?  The agency of man or choice and accountability.

I respect your views and wish you well on HubPages and all elsewhere. smile

This even sounds silly to me yet I think that it has some true.
Every body is right and everybody is wrong.

       Everyone has their own prospective.
So;... there are billions of diffrent yet similar prospectives.

Small "mutual appreciation Clubs" may be established.
But in the end no one  "WINs"

Until we stop trying to "Win" no one will.
When we "surrender" to this idea that every one is right and everyone is wrong ......
Everyone wins.     Or something like that.

A thing is greater than the sum total of its parts.
A complete circle.  Could God be the product of the total  sum of its parts;  US.  And we are a product of it.
Diversity is the fuel that keeps this self sustaining thing  moving forward.

He is to each of his parts what that part needs for him to be in order to keep the self propulsion of life moving forward.
Our collective conciousness influences its will, all the while his will is super-imposed upon our colective concience.

LIke i have asked you all who we are??--So let me explain you that when we die, our body looks same like when we are live only the soul goes away and take a new birth.

So i want to say that soul is main part of our body. We do so much care for our body but what soul needs??--Like we take food to keep our body active same way soul needs spiritualism, it is food of soul.

In reality we are soul, this body is costume that soul has wear to play part on this world.

Hope you all understand that we all are soul and this body is one type of costume. Like for car to run, it needs driver, so driver play very important role to run car, sameway to run body soul is playing important role.

So awaken yourself with difference between soul and body then slowly you will know who is God? Thanks!--If any confusion you can ask me here.

Time to mention more of gods love from the bible! smile

If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years.  Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom.  If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year.  But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him.  If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master.  But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children.  I would rather not go free.'  If he does this, his master must present him before God.  Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl.  After that, the slave will belong to his master forever.  (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

    Lovely book! lol

Ah yes, god loves everyone! Almost! Apparently Haiti was gods work too. According to the bible. smile

The LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath.  He takes revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies!  The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished.  He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm.  The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.  At his command the oceans and rivers dry up, the lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wilt.  In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed.  Who can stand before his fierce anger?  Who can survive his burning fury?  His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence.  The LORD is good.  When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge.  And he knows everyone who trusts in him.  But he sweeps away his enemies in an overwhelming flood.  He pursues his foes into the darkness of night.   (Nahum 1:2-8 NLT)

@earnestshub, no no sir,you are taking very wrongly--God never do anything wrong---God never take any revenge--He loves his child whatever they are.

Whatever happens in Haiti is not God works. You have to understand this. God always love his child and we are all his child.

We know that if we do good then in return something good happens to us and same vice a versa.

Now you will say many innocent people die in Haiti but again we have to understand that  someone got birth in rich family and some one in poor family now why child born in poor family because of his last birth actions.

If we do good in this birth then next birth will also be good.

Hope you are getting me and dont blame God. God always love his child.

I'm going to have to roll my eyes in disgust at this. You just said the people of Haiti brought this on themselves in a past life.

First, there is no past life.  Second, you claim a loving forgiving god and then say this loving forgiving god punished his children with an earthquake. That is not even logical. So much for forgiveness?

Third, there are small children who go through hell on this earth. The environment they live in causes them to become the people they do. And then the loving forgiving god tortures them in the next life to punish the consequences of being tortured in a previous life?

Something went very wrong with your thinking on all this.

Did you know that when a person takes mind altering substances that more primitive structures of the brain become more active, the "seek" drive is evident in a drunk person when they "want to mission". LOL

So I've actually read through all of this and just have a few words to share.

I'm reminded of a bumper sticker, "God is too big for just one religion"

I like to think of religion and spirituality as seperate - because when you think of it - and its adherents - (and so-called "sin") - they really are two completely different animals.

Religion is man-made. Spirituality is your relationship with God, and its personal - no special books, no funny traditions, instructions, heirarchies, money exchanges, ATMs or 3-day revivals. God doesn't require fasts, martyrdom, bloodshed, learning 3 languages, or even that you memorize passages in books that line the shelves of libraries.
Its a one on one thing, and no one has to tell you how to go about that. Its all about spirituality and belief, and to some its not even a man or woman, it may be music, or light, or the sun, or the moon, or trees, or something else that represents the most beautiful sight they have ever seen - their childs eyes or even the evil grin on their cat's face.

"They" say "God" created the heavens and the earth in 7 days in the "Bible" - then how do we know that "his" (and that is so strange not to have a female counterpart for a God so into procreation - but men wrote the bible for the most part) only concern is with life and death and sin and good works here on earth? What about the rest of the universe?

I love the line in Contact when Jodi Foster says "All this can't have been created just for us." Its a valid point.

Me? very spiritual. Study everything. Deny only what I know can't be true and embrace what I feel is good for me at the time, shed it when it no longer serves my soul.

God to me? There aren't any words in our little vocabulary to describe the strength of emotion that overcomes me when I feel I have had brushes with Divine Love. An energy we are part of but I can't begin to comprehend. But that's not why I'm here, so I won't take on that mission.

          Namaste'
          Erin

God as I understand it is a phenomenal force which exists everywhere in a constant act of creation, it could be/become whatever it chooses, so the rub is if you try to identify it as an absolute, it may shift to prove that we aren't qualified as the "nomenal" to discern the truth of the "phenomenal" As always the idea should be to witness the force of creation and be amazed. The Tao Te Ching suggests, that when we cease trying to discern the truth with our reasoning the truth comes manifest, so if we dont guess then it will be revealed.

First of all, I want to apologize to you in case I offend you or your faith in the following passages...

    britneydavidsonposted 5 days ago

Our father is incorporeal and in same way we are incorporeal  ( we are also soul, as body is our costume) ...Child of one father is possible only in soul conscious form...So now again father has come to give us our virtues. We have to understand how the God is and how we are his child.

a)Two and a half thousand years ago, the philosopher Xenophanes said ‘If cattle and horses and lions had hands and could paint and make works of art with their hands just as people can, horses would depict the gods as horses and cattle would as cattle’. He had a good point and we can see that every god ever believed in bears the stamp of human manufacture. Our gods tend to reflect our human environments and personal prejudices.

@HOOWANTSTONO, i want that answer that every one should agree and accept.

There should be some logic or something that one should think yes --God  is this????

IF I say God is light ( energy) what do you all think ? any doubt or suggestion??

    a) If you say god is light, then the zippo I use to lit my cigars is also god, the light that reflects from TV (while watching porn) is also god. b) Science has proven that each type of energy has its own limitations. If God is energy then he has his limitations as well.

reall great I am agreed with your statement  ( Proof is nothing more than logic applied...)

    a) Because of the complexity of its nature, Philosophical perspectives consider 'The Ultimate Truth' as multidimensional. Meaning: you are trying to see the whole picture with your limited human knowledge, from a single biased point of view. As a result what you might believe to be the beard/moustache of Zeus, could just be the asshole hair of a donkey.

    britneydavidsonposted 3 days ago

our body looks same like when we are live only the soul goes away and take a new birth.....If we do good in this birth then next birth will also be good...

    a) Seems like you are into Reincarnation theory. The best advocates of reincarnation theory can be found in Zoroastrianism, Hinduism & Buddhism. Each concept has its flaws.
The easiest way to nullify this concept is to compare the historical data of human population to the current population of the world. You will find that regardless of their sins & crimes, human population is ever increasing, so is their living standard and knowledge

britneydavidsonposted 3 days ago in reply to earnestshub

...We know that if we do good then in return something good happens to us and same vice a versa.

Not necessarily true. There are millions of cases where certain person got punished and suffered violent death even after doing good deeds. i.e. Jesus Christ himself - after all that sharing n caring n loving, he got crucified.

britneydavidsonposted 2 days agoin reply to this

God is one! That we all religion should be understand. Then only it is possible for us to know God and reach to God.

    a) Previously you stated that God could just be some sort of energy. If it is some sort of energy then numbers wont fit it. i.e. we don't say that its a gravity, an electricity or a light . Since we are unaware of the nature of god, it would be unwise to claim that God is one, or two, or many. b) Other than that, no one has proved that paganism is completely flawed and superior to monotheism.

    Conclusion:

Claiming to know the ultimate answer is one type of blasphemy. Considering the fact that an enlightened one would not waste his/her time in hubpages smile. Now lets get back to your main question: Who is God??

If you are looking for an answer based on faith and spirituality, then there could be thousands of answers. Its your decision which one to choose. But If you are looking for an answer based on factual evidence and rational explanation, then you can take a look at this:

God is one of the greatest creation of human imagination. A strong supporting point for this claim is that throughout human history, we find different humans (i.e. moses, budhdha, christ) spreading the concept of god/gods. We have never seen a God who came to us to prove his existence or to preach his religion. Not a single physical evidence exists which can be verified by scientific tests to prove the existence of God/Gods. The psychology of faith tells us Fear of the unknown and our helplessness makes most people believe in God/Gods. This is one reason why superior personalities like Napoleon,Hitler did not care about religion & why the majority of poor people are more submissive to God/Gods

You are clearly well versed here so I would like to ask an opinion.
Mankind has moved along a continuum of Knowledge and understanding from the earliest days of cave drawings[and before I'm sure]to our present state.Robotics and computation advances are projected to converge[this projection was done considering an exponential increase]about the year 2050 as a singularity.A robot with the computational power of the entire human race combined. So,in your opinion, would you hazard to share what you consider the possibilities of what the next point along this continuum will be?
This is not a setup for an argument.I am sincerely interested in your opinion.

      1. Rishy Rich profile image71

        @Cheaptrick

As far as I’m concerned, there are already many super computers which possess greater computational abilities than general people. However, computational ability should not be compared with creativity and innovation. By 2050, we might have AI's with such computational ability but not necessarily they are going to possess human creativity, innovation & critical thinking ability.

Anyways, here goes my response to your request: The possibilities you are talking about would vary depending on the time line of the continuum. Since you did not mention any specific time period, depicting the next point on the mentioned continuum would be difficult and hence, you might find my answer quite vague.

In order to depict a point in the future, we need to refer to our past. If we look back past into this continuum we find some common trends of mankind: i) Survival, ii) Growth of knowledge & understanding, iii) Development of human morale & ethics, iv) Improvement of law & justice and finally v) the spread of Globalization. There are numerous possibilities for the next point on this continuum. But no matter whatever the possibilities are, these common trends are definitely going to affect it.

I believe you were looking for a more specific answer like- Robots outsmarting humans by 2100 or inter-galactic travels by 2200. I have already mentioned that my answer would be vague. But you can get your answer if you go through the above mentioned trends like this:

        i)    Survival – Humans use their environment for their survival & try to control it. i.e. robots, no matter how smart they will be, would be kept under control for the purpose of our survival
ii)    Growth of K & U – You might see genetically engineered humans with super intelligence (surpassing the abilities of AI’s) by 2200.
iii)    Development of human M & E – The morale and ethics of Humans might become so high that they will even treat animals with great respect. There is a high possibility that most humans would become vegetarians & will stop eating animals.
iv)    Improvement of L & J – Nationalistic sentiment, international politics & sovereignty will find new meanings. Humans will find better ways to preserve peace on earth.
        v)    Globalization – we might see inter-galactic trade & communication by 2500.

I hope this works for you smile

No, it is a myth from a book written by a handful of Afghanistan goat herders, just like it reads. smile

God is supereme, the father of all ( off course all religion), he is only one but we human being has divided God and remembering in diffrent-different forms.

God is Light! God is incorporeal! God is not omnipresent!
