In South Africa the racial tension is at its all time high.  People are getting slaughtered on their farms, specially the elderly. Please pray Jesus' blood over us to keep us safe, cause He is the only one that can keep us from harm. Last night there was a farm attack just about a mile from us. Don't know the details yet.  Please pray for them to.

I don't get it. Why pray for Jesus to keep them from harm when they are continuously being harmed?

Jesus either isn't listening or he doesn't care or he doesn't exist.

      Which one is it?  smile

you know..."Beelzedad"...i know you're a "high-profile, elite hubber" roll but does that mean you don't have to show some modicum of respect for your online peers? this woman has people attacking and killing people a mile from her house. and she came here asking for prayer. she believes it; you don't, we get it. can you not show a little restraint?

        and please, the smiley face?

        ugh...

He exists in your heart if you read the scriptures.  Look around you tell me what you see?  Didn't God creat a wonderful world, yet we destroy it by foolish acts.  Regardless what the out come is there will always be Someone watching over us.  His name is Jesus!

Hi Anne, I will definitely keep you and your family in prayer.  You Know,  satan sometimes sends PEOPLE and things into our lives to distract us from keeping our eyes on GOD,  but you have to scroll past the negativity.   Your FAITH, along with the prayer of other believers will get you through this.  JESUS said, "where two or more are gathered in my name I shall be in the midst of them".    I have had many of prayers answered so I know prayer works you just have to have FAITH.  GOD bless you and you are in my prayers.   Please keep us updated.

I hate to be the bearer of Bad News but if all you have between you and the threat of attack and possible death is prayer then I strongly urge you to move somewhere safe.

Seriously, No amount of praying is going to protect you and anybody on this site who offer only their own prayers and good wishes are doing you a dis service from a warm and safe distance.

If you fear for your life move now. Hoping for divine intervention is a final act of desperation and I urge you to see sense before it is too late.

You're right that it takes real action sometimes to get out of a bad situation.
But the people here answered the OP's request for prayer, and you should never underestimate the power of that.

You are right you should not underestime the power of prayer, however my council was not to overestimate the power.

For instance as far back as I can remember every time the Pope appears on his little balcony he prays for World Peace and so far his boss doesn't appear to be listening.

So for this reason my advice stands.

I know what you mean.  I'm not trying to argue about it; hope you didn't take it that way; if so, I apologize.

As far as the Pope prayin' for world peace.....
perhaps he's praying amiss, out of the will of God, because I find no Scripture that says we will ever have or are ever meant to have world peace.
Until the end of time, there will always be a spiritual struggle; and that manifests itself in real-life struggles.
But it doesn't mean that God doesn't lift people and peoples out of those struggles at times.

There is plenty of war in the bible, so it would make sense that scriptures says we are to be at war and never have peace. Is that what you're saying?

Can you show us the scriptures where it says that? smile

At the birth of Jesus, Peace was proclaimed by the angels.  But that Peace was mostly a Peace of soul, because Jesus said He didn't come to bring peace to earth, but a spiritual sword to divide mankind, to have them make a choice between Him and the adversary.

In Exodus, He brought His people out of tyrannical Egypt.
He also brought the oppressed out of England to form America.
In the Civil War, He brought the slaves in America out of bondage.   Do you think it was only political activism that freed the settlers and has freed the black population?  No, it was also prayer!  From both blacks and whites and others!
Missionaries from America and other nations give aid to oppressed peoples in Africa and other places;  we give them help in times of disasters and famine.
The hand of God is seen in all those things and many more.

We don't want mankind divided, that is what causes wars. We want mankind to come together as one.

                Slavery is condoned in scriptures.

Missionaries are only in it for recruiting new members. The rest of us help needy people because we want to help them and not seek their salvation.

Er  it was a very Christian south that bought the slaves from the very Christian British who put the slaves into bondage in the first place !  claiming god does all this is ignoring our own actions  -  Oh yes - that is what Christians do I forgot!

No need to apologise, I didn't think you were looking for an argument, neither am I.

It's just that when I see a request like this I tend to view it as a call for help, real help as if the person has reached a point in their life where it seems only prayer can help.

It is perhaps a little unfortunate to say it but I honestly believe if someone was to turn up with a very big gun and make their problems disappear they would probably thank God first !

Which kind of raises a point as to where are the athorities... the police.. the army or are they on the side of the bad guys ?

God is a God of war.  He is mighty in it.  When I say that, many people will whine that He is cruel and will say that I'm wicked.  But I say it anyway.   He does act via the "big guns" you mentioned sometimes.   So I personally don't think it's unfortunate that you said that.

I dunno where the authorities are, or even which faction or group of people is right in this case,  but I do know that God can and does use war and uprisings to bring about change when He sees fit.

Based on your post, you have given me ample reason to never want to join Christianity. It's all about war and I am not interested in an organization in which it's esoteric leaders are war mongers.

Then what happened to the Prince of Peace?
A casualty of war, no doubt.
Can't have it both ways, in reality.

As for the tragedies and atrocities in Africa, I'm so sorry to hear about them and send kindest and best to those there. I agree the best thing to do is to leave for somewhere safer!

Annie my prayer for you and your people.  He is your shelter, your fortress and he has put his firewall of protection around you.  Continue to praise his name He is the Most High God

Ps 57;1Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.
2    I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
3    He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!
He is the faithful one who sends help from heaven!!
