if you wake up one fine morning and in front of you is irrevocable evidence that there is no god. what will you do?
will you go on as usual?
or will you start robbing all the banks to make yourself the richest person in the world?(to add an effect you may shoot some too!!)

The death of God will not have vital impact on the minds of atheists. However, theres a high possibility that a portion of the believers might loose control over their life & will start committing crimes, while the rest of the believers will not accept the Dead being as God & will continue to worship as they are used to.

The life force of the universe, is God.
         Not the other way around.

I hope that makes sense to you. It does to me.

If it dies, we won't know it because we won't BE!

And yet, you believe in a particular god and a particular set of doctrines. You don't believe in all those other gods and have already stated they are myths. In fact, you have said some pretty nasty things in the past about those gods and religions.

Seems you are now changing your story.

It appears you are once again emotionally lashing out. You claimed I was insulting you in another thread when I did no such thing, yet you call me a "fool" in this thread. That is a personal insult in which I could report you.

Deuteronomy 13:6-11 — If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death...

Your Bible and my Bible say the same thing. It is referring to worshipping false gods or idols. I do no such thing. The fact that My God Our God has many different names as appears in the Bible does not mean that if you recognize Almighty God with a different name it is wrong. Jehovah, Yaweh, I Am, The Lord, all names or terms referring to Almighty God. So get off your high and mighty horse you are not dealing with an unbeliever, but rather a child of God Himself.

getitriteposted 14 years agoin reply to this

            I shouldn't need a writ.

All I would need would be the Pope, and the religious leaders, along with international heads-of -state to tell you God is dead, and I'm sure that would suffice for habeus corpus.  It has worked on you to this point--or don't you see that there is no "body" as proof of a God in the first place, but only religious leaders, flanked by the government, and parents brainwashing us with fear--think Santa Claus.

Our parents, along with government and religious leaders, convinced us that there was, indeed, a Santa, then they ALL, unanumously, asserted Santa is not real.

They control your thoughts on this matter.  You have none of your own.

Since the word God is not our constitution , things would not go out of control that much. Per capita there are more Christians in jail than any other group and that would be reduced.

Religion is not something of interest to me, so I spend most of my time thinking about other things. I have come to find my own spirituality through learning about Astrology and what we are made of. It is very interesting, much more interesting than religion to me personally.

Is irrevocable evidence that there is no God the same thing as God being dead?   If I found evidence that there were no God, it wouldn’t surprise me. If I found evidence that God had died, well then, that would prove that he actually existed to begin with, how else could he have died? But that still wouldn't surprise me very much. It might make me question how great a God was he, if he could die.

Nietzsche and the "Death of God" movement back in the 60s have both already told us God was dead.

However, God doesn't have to be dead for people to go robbing banks and killing each other.  All through history people have killed and been killed in the name of God.

There is talk going around that if God was among us in human form, and claimed to be God, nobody would believe it, and that person would probably be jailed. And, then forced to create some kind of Miracle to prove that they are god. And the people won't settle for the whole turning water into wine, or walking on water, or faith healing. They'll expect something big. like a foot of snow in the desert, or Hawaii something like that.

I don't think anything would happen if they found God dead. Unless there is going to be some catastrophic result. People will just go on about their day like normal, as if he was a real person, I don't think it would be that big a deal. More like the death of a pope, or a celebrity. people would mourn and move on.

I don't think God being an actual person would not go over with Christians, as a lot of them would most likely assume that because he is god, he can't die. As, in he will just rise again.
Just as they have believed about Christ since he died on the cross. So maybe what you are talking about already happened.

Just like when Jesus died on the cross, hundreds of people watched, and when it was over, they all went home. Wouldn't be any different today.

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

Let's see. There wasn't a god until a few thousand years ago when humans invented religion. If god is no longer beleived in anymore, life goes on.

So many flaws with this one, hard to figure out where to begin. By all philosophical/theological definitions of God, his death would be impossible.....So even broaching the topic of God's death is ill-conceived and impossible to contemplate....surprised so many even attempted an answer...Oh wait I am one of them?!

the question is what will you do if there is no god. few people even realize what the question is. as usual believers are here with drivel instead of answering the simple question-what they will do if there is no god. of course brain washed people can never think for themselves so i am not surprised no believer answered to the point.....
or is it because they have to agree they are immoral without their god or will they continue to be moral(or goes on with their life as usual) in spite of their god.

There are many reasons why Christian will hang on to God. The greatest one that stands out in my mind is the fear of going to hell, even though it takes a lottery ticket to get to heaven. Since God is invisible, there would be no evidence to prove God is dead, so no matter what you or I say, they won't believe you or I

As for Christian morals, per capita there are more Christians in jail, than in any other group. I prefer ethics and kindness as a guild in order to stay away from hell on earth.

If and when I hear one fine morning that there is no God or God has died, I will try to enquire about the age of the God when he died... ie., when was he born?

I heard once that some Jewish mystics think we exist because God believes us to be.  If he died, then he wouldn't be around to believe, so by that theory maybe we wouldn't continue to exist either.
