How can people reject the love, compassion and truth of Jesus Christ?
Because it is a worthless myth?
The love offered is not love, but conditional love?
They thought Apollonius of Tyana is more credible as he has been proven to exist whereas jesus hasn't?
@earnestshub, Jesus love you...He might not care for your attitude or behavior, but He loves you. Because, you part of God's creation. Renew your mind to the Truth!!!
So you have chosen to ignore the reality that biblical love is not love at all, that love is not conditional by definition and just offer another goddunnit answer.
I'm used to that here.
There is love in the Bible and there certainly is love in the teachings of Christ. In some cases beautiful expressions of love.
The Bible is a reflection of humanity: demons and angels.
Whether God made us in his image or we made God in ours, the Bible is at worst a reflection of the norms of the time of writing and at best a good look at how love and peace still occasionally rose to the conscious level even then.
Because there is very little love and no truth in the whole thing?
Darkness runs away from the light and cannot comprehend it.
If you had half the love and compassion which you've learned from Jesus, then you would certainly not be here opening threads. You would have compassion for the people who you abuse when you tell them about a man YOU cannot possible know ever existed to begin with. You've taken it on faith and deceived yourself that Jesus was an actual person. Just because a book told you?
A book that has and was corrupted before it was ever made into a book. Who do you think put the book together? Man-made. Yes, I get that you THINK it's the inspired word of a god, but that's what you are supposed to think.
Why do you think that Jesus never wanted anything written down. He wanted people to lead by his example, which is something YOU are not doing. Now, since I am pointing out your flawed example of Jesus, that should tell you something. If it doesn't, then it would be either ego or brainwashing, which prevents you from seeing what your actions provoke. It's not your job to inform me how to live my life and what I should see or who I should follow. You over step your authority of living in this world.
Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster and all other messengers and prophets of the Creator loved the Creator God and the human beings; Jesus was only one of them.
Probably because christianity's concept of love, compassion and truth is too skewed to fit the definition of any of those words.
@Virgil Newsome, so true...Those who are in darkness wants to hid in their sins. Because, the 'Light (Jesus Christ)' exposes their darkness.
It also seems pretty dark to be imagining the sins of others. Might seem more helpful to focus on your own?
@Emile R, we have all sinned; but, sin is no longer a major problem in my life; because, I'm the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I repented for sins; and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. And, if I should sin, Jesus is faithful to forgive my sins. In accordance with 1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV) SALVATION in Christ, come aboard!!!
Ignorance is bliss, cut andpaste cliches are no answer to life - get an education so that you can actually read and get meaning from the words that you admire so much but have so little understanding of.
@Emile R, I have the highest education possible. That's the Holy Spirit; Who indwell me. He searches the deepest thing of The Father's Heart. WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE that's beyond the uninformed mind-set. How's that for a cut and paste!!!
I think I may see your confusion if you think merely having your supposed Holy Spirit trumps a good education. Bible Belt?
I'm not confused; you're confused to think differently. The Word of God says, "Greater is He, Whose in me, than he whose in the world." The Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) trumph a world education. Ouch!!!!!
God didn't write anything down for you to quote, dude. By the way, what language did your god use to write the Ten commandments on the stone tablets? Your bible is all hearsay, you know. Doh!
Righteous bigotry does not count as a "zinger". There is nothing more dangerous than one group of humans feeling morally superior to another.
What's more dangerous than a educated man or woman of the world. By the way, How many wars are America in? What is the state of economy, these day?
Answer my question about the "big sacrifice" your god made, first!
Sure, EK! Did you read my previous question?
And also-Did Jesus ever take a bath in his entire life?
Oops didnt scroll back-
Yes Jesus took a bath but will enlarge after Ive scrolled
What sort of toilet paper did he use, while you are at it!
Randy was it the question on sacrifice?
(Sorry chocolate fix is wearing off)..
Toilet paper-Charta of course 1,000 leaves per roll
Yes, EK-the question on what great sacrifice either Jesus or his dad gave for mans sins. How can a sacrifice be something you don't give up? And no, back then the use of the hand was considered normal. The left hand if I'm not in error.
By the time a man was the age of Jesus before his supposed crucifixion, he would have lost most of his teeth, smelled to high heaven for lack of a bath, had matted oily hair and beard, and wore clothes which reeked of grime and filth. Even many of the wealthy.
A snaggle toothed, greasy headed, ill kempt and smelly Jesus isn't how most of the "true believers" picture the savior, I'd wager.
Probably didnt bathe daily, he lived in the desert, water was precious.
Though they did have font like places for bathing near the Temples.
It was not customary. Having access to water was a large part of it. But people did wipe themselves with oil. If too poor it would be olive oil.
Why would his teeth be rotten?
I mean diets way back then ,would have been much better for teeth, unlike now.
The Sacrifice was sending his son to a world that basically had turned to crap
(Not sure Id be willing to send any off my kids to a crappy place, to take the blame for someone else) UNLESS I knew that after all the pain and ALL the dust settled, the sacrifice would pay the debt in full for ALL time)
Jesus was the sacrifice for us ,so you and I...didnt have to die eternally.
Not picking, just pointing out something is all.
He lived and traveled in the area of the Sea of Galilee, the largest freshwater lake in Israel.
These fonts were for ritual cleansing prior to entering the temples, not bathing.
Sorry, we don't know if Jesus actually suffered or not, but clearly many young children have suffered much more in their lives than Jesus ever did on the cross.
Again, a sacrifice is something one gives up, not gets right back again. Now if Jesus didn't get brought back to life it would have been a sacrifice worth noting. Or, if his body were allowed to remain on the cross for several months before coming back to life it might have been a mite more convincing.
He probably never died and simply recovered in a few days like many suspect. After all, he got special treatment by having his body removed instead of letting it rot away. If it ever happened at all, which I highly doubt.
The point of the sacrifice was one unblemished life for ALL others (flawed) so in so much as the law being met ,it was.
Jesus suffered ,not for himself.
Of course we cant first hand say how the pain was ,since we never experienced crucifixtion, but I am willing to bet it was horrendous.
Children ,innocent people suffering ,no argument from me there. How that came to be is really another topic...Sin and its effects....like a peeble thrown into a still lake
Actually, Jesus didn't match the description of the Messiah foretold by the prophets in the Old Testament. Those of his cult tried their best to fulfill the prophecies about JC or rewrite history to include him in it, but there was no prophecy saying he would be crucified and be reborn.
He was supposed to be a great military leader too.
You have the highest education possible? Could have fooled me.
The problem is that if you are unable to put together sensible grammar then you cannot read it either, this in turn means that what you think are reading and hearing is not what is meant by the words. Most evangelicals are semi-literate and unable to comprehend life - tuning to simple story answers seems to be a common desease.
Are you saying Yoshua never sinned even though he was a mortal man?
Jesus never sinned; He sacrificed His life; that you might have life and not death. He beared the sins of world on the Cross And, that includes your sins. So, that you might have Salvation in Him. Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
Cool! How is it a sacrifice when his dad could simply bring him right back? Doesn't one have to actually give up something for it to be a sacrifice instead of being merely an inconvenience?
@ Romans
Don't worry about it, Romans. You'll never convince them on these forums.
How can people reject the love, compassion and truth of Jesus Christ?
- =
If they feel the unselfish love that abides within them; Maybe they do feel the compashion and truth of Jesus Christ and don't even know it.
And Maybe ??? that is enough.
Another forum, and here they are..
It seems everywhere that earnestshub goes, the serpent(Randy Godwin) follows.
You guys just can't seem to get enough of my God (The One and ONLY TRUE GOD, Jehovah Tsidkenu, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Shalom...Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, the Alpha and the Omega, Your soon to be SAVIOR, REDEEMER, and LORD)
I'm beginning to think you guys are in love with Jesus Christ.
Then you would be misinforming yourself.
I cannot be held responsible for your failed attempts at thinking.
Another Baptist?
Comfort ,you could always join my team.
Pays lousy ,but the benefits are great!
Supposing you chose the correct god to follow...but if not...!
Like all contracts one must read the small print
So if you are wrong, the other gods will be pi**ed off at you and whoever you convinced to follow your advice. Quite a responsibility for anyone, especially a mortal.
Come on dude, answer my questions if your education is so sublime. Should be easy for someone with the HS backing them up.
Better find out about earnestshub before you make sweeping statements.
I actually know something about your bible.
I assume you never made love to one though... that *would* chafe your bappy.
So far I have managed without inanimate objects.
LMAO...rather limiting your experiences aren't you? I never figured you as vanilla
Straight as an arrow, died in the wool, missionary position, lights out, gospel music, guilt ridden heterosexual mere male.
Just kiddin!
Reminds me of a male derogative joke , but maybe not here or now.
Why would you imagine I haven't read it?
..
Yea must have been someone else.
My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
Modern version: That guys sound hot!
I dunno. Resembling a country is a bit sus.
The Truth of God's Word will always trumph un-renewed minds. The Word of God says, "...I'm triumph in Christ." Christians will alway have the victory in Christ.
Apparently, christians don't like to answer questions.
I am happy for you, turn down the music after 10pm so I can get some sleep.
does anyone not know that we can over intelectualize the smell of poop in a babys diaper and how it came to be there, till the cotton falls apart..... then we figure out that we forgot to buy bappy powder; so it didn't matter any way.
In answer to your question Romans, there are a myriad of reasons why people reject 'the love, compassion and truth' as you put it.
What you need to understand is that the Church gives God some pretty bad PR. It doesn't live the love of God; comes over as self righteous, judgemental, puffed up in its own sense of superiority. Messiah did not exhibit these traits. To the outside world the Church looses so much credibility (20,000 denominations can't be wrong ) Perhaps the 'gospel' that the Church preaches is so different from the original.
According to the nativity story, the angels pronounced peace and goodwill to ALL men. But the Church presents a gospel with strings attached and a God that shows conditional love only. The Church's God loves the man when he is alive, but hates him when he is dead (unless he manages to utter a sinner's prayer first).
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
Today, could be a day of change for you. Don’t miss the opportunity to get it right in your life.
If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God's family.
Today, could be a day of change for you. Don’t miss the opportunity to get it right in your life.
Thanks, but I already have. My life rocks.

What a pile of rubbish! You believe in an invisible fairy and have conversations with it.
I recommend you see a psychiatrist for that.
If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God's family.

What did Jesus Christ mean when He said; "And the truth shall set you free"?What truth was Jesus referring to when He said these words and does this have any connection to the Spirit of Truth? Jesus also said in John 18: part of verse 37 (NKJV) "Everyone who IS OF the truth hears my...

Without delving into a lot of deep studying on the origins of words, I'll make a suggestion. Could it be that Jesus was redefining what God is when He called Himself the Son of Man?THink about it: He often referred to God as His Father, right? And then He refers to Himself as the Son of Man....

This is simply for Christians to share and discuss the prophecies they may know well, and/or better than some of the rest of us. It is for edifying and educating each of us further in understanding our God's Word. Though I posted it for prophecies, I think it would do us well to share scriptures in...

Should we let the offenses and sins of others stop us from receiving Jesus? We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Will we choose to see the good of God regardless of imperfect man? Christians all over the World claim that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is the savior of the World and not just Christians. He died for the sins of Christians, atheists, pagans, Muslims, Jews, Buddhist, etc... An important argument we must note is that the teachings of the New Testament say that to go...
