Where is Philippines located?
- Philippines is a country surrounded by bodies of water and is located in Southeast Asia. It is surrounded by large ocean namely Pacific Ocean, South China Sea, Celebes Sea and the Philippine sea. It is also bounded by Taiwan and Vietnam. It is very strategic place in terms of military that is why the US naval base was stationed in the Subic Bay, Philippines for longest time, but it later on moved to Japan . All in all it has 7,107 islands. It is nineteen hours away from the US if you ride the North West airline hub from Detroit, Michigan -- stop over is Japan which is five hours away from Manila -- the capital of the country. It is two hours away from Hong Kong and three hours away from Singapore and nine hours away from Sydney Australia by plane.
Boracay Beach
Where is Boracay? -- It is a beautiful island surrounded by reefs (corral) and is located in the northwest part of the Panay Island which is approximately 45 minutes away from Manila (capital of the Philippines) by plane. It is composed of small villages, Balabag, Manoc-Manoc and Yapak and is under the province of Aklan, Philippines.
Boracay White Beach is cited in:
- 1996 --- British publication TV Quick as the world's number one tropical beach.
- In 2007, Boracay island topped the list of the World’s Most Popular Beach according to Yahoo! Travel.
- In 1990 ---BMW Tropical Beach Handbook as one of the best beaches in the world

Bulabog and White Beach in Boracay are the two main tourists spot in the area. They are located in the opposite parts of the region. White Beach is 4 kms long and there are many resorts, hotels lodgings, inns, restaurants and tourism establishments in the area. Plus it is abound with tourists all over the world.
The people In Boracay
- They are very friendly and peaceful people like me
- The people in the area or the locals are very courteous and friendly people who are very helpful if somebody needs help.
Transportation within the area:
- Motor tricycles and pedicabs are the main transportation within the area along the beaches.. You can also use quad bikes, motorbikes and mountain bikes which you can also rent. If you want to explore the islands coastline motorized boats can be used or “paraw” -- is a narrow hulled boat with outriggers either side and with passengers sometimes seated on a trampoline platform between the outrigger supports and these are extremely fast off the wind, but can be unwieldy for inexperienced sailors --
What to do at Boracay White beach
Activities : golf, tennis, bowling, windsurfing, volleyball and diving sites are also available, frolicking in the sand and touring the island is also available
Boracay International Funboard Cup -- a yearly event among water sports enthiusiasts that takes place in the beaches of Boracay. This event brings competitors from all over the world to compete for water sports.
Temperature in the Area
There are two weather in the Boracay island
- Amihan is a moderate temperature, with little rain and a wind prevailing form the east; October to May each year (77F-90F)
- Habagat-- hot and humid, frequent heavy rainfall, wind prevails from the West; June to rest of the year (82F-90F)
Languages used in the area
- Filipino and local dialects plus English are well spoken in the area
