Do you have any?  Do you think the tradition is getting old?  If you have one... why did you pick it?

I don't usually, but next year I am determined to get fitter. My stomach seems to have exploded in the past 2 months smile I'll do it with just cutting out some things...like chips...and exercising a bit. I won't go crazy smile

Because tax planning is annual, I tend to make more business goals this time of year. Personal goals more free-form.

I've gone soft hanging out on HP, where so much is done for us. So I start a php website building course in a few weeks to pump up my skills. And I'll be taking a course of social marketing. I really don't believe in it, but maybe I need to pay more attention.

I want to build one website a week this year.

Well, I will hope that I won't be homeless. My regular income ends in January. So I'm hoping to have an income in 2011.

Good luck finding a new income stream.  Losing an income is very tough, but it can happen to the best of us.  I will be sending you positive thoughts.

I plan to help as many more people who want success in 2011. I don't BS I expect people who want to work hard to achieve themselves to greatness. My goal is to travel more and grow my team to up to 20 new Directors in my organization.

@ Brim - here's hoping you're luck turns around smile

As for the question - mine are unspeakably silly and probably won't happen. Which is about right for resolutions eh?

I resolve to keep the teeth I still have right where they are. Not that I've lost that many but there's been a lot of nasty toothache the last few months.

I resolve to either A) resign myself to the fact that my dog is rubbish, period or B) discover new and interesting ways to cope with her stalking.

I resolve to be a better cook. Or at least look as though I'm enjoying the task a bit more.

I resolve to work smarter, harder, better *falls about laughing*

    ................... lol

I plan to enjoy life more, spend more time with my family instead of on my computer, be a better parent, a better friend and a better person. I want to be less of a perfectionist. Here's wishing everyone a very Happy New Year 2011!

Excellent thread.  I am continuing on my weight loss journey.  I have lost 70 lbs and have about another 70 to go.  Hope to reach that goal in 2011.

Looking to triple my online income in 2011 over 2010.  I made great strides in 2010, with no small thanks to Hubpages.  I think 2011 will be a break through year for me.

Thank you to everyone on Hubpages who helped me out.  smile

First, let me apologize for starting a new thread on the same topic. I didn't see yours. Anyway, my New Year's Resolution is to study qi gong or tai chi. As to the tradition getting old, I don't think it is. I think that it is good to set one or two major goals that you wish to accomplish each year. They should be not be trivial, but serious. They should part of the goals that you hope to achieve over your life time. For as the saying goes:"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail".

One thing more: Why did I choose my goal? Answer: It is one of the major goals that I want to achieve before my life is over.

Exercise more and get serious about making more money online.

I think many people despise the word "exercise" and it's so hard to commit to doing it.  Why not commit to having more fun, then seek out ways to have fun that just happen to include moving more?  It's a great way to sneak in exercise without calling it that.   Therefore, one of my New Year's resolutions is to have more fun!!!!!

I plan on tripling my AdSense income in 2011 and losing one pound per month.  I may gain 2 or 3 so the net effect may be moot, but it is good to have a goal.
