   How do you actually grow on Hub Pages. Any tips guys?

      The main thing to do is to write. Write quality hubs about topics that interest you and topics that can be of use to people. This will help you with your earnings. To get followers on hubpages, answering questions, being helpful in the forums and commenting and rating fellow hubbers' hubs is the way to go.

   well I have been here quite some time and only have a few hubs - but I can tell you this - to grow - ya gotta write - the more hubs you write - the more you grow - and communicate with the community - but also read and support others hubs - I dont mean going around like some do writing the same old comment on a bunch of hubs real quick like - but actually read and honestly comment on others hubs - it takes a while but you will grow

   Write a lot and get yourself out there! I found that talking to people over forums and answering questions is the best way to find hubbers that will follow you and people you want to follow too~

   Grow by writing for the Google traffic ..keep writing and maybe a little community participation but the same things SEO, keywords and stuff that you need for online writing !

         Plenty of people do very well here without any community interaction. I doubt if 5 per cent of the top traffic hubbers ever enter the forums, for example.

            I agree. I hardly come to the forums and in the beginning didn't come here at all and got plenty of traffic. Writing good articles and reading other people's work does the most good. Good use of keywords and advertising outside the forum is also imperative.

   I grow by reading hubs and asking questions about Seo and other pertinent questions.  Reading and writing every day are paramount to success, in my opinion.

   Just write and mix with the hubbers you like reading. Otherwise no one might bother reading you back. Having a blog or a website outside will bring eyes, and curious readers to your hubs. Link back to your profile. Review other hubs and comment on them. Give it time too. "The oxen are slow, but the earth is patient."

      @Astra Nomik...I am new here but still have shortlisted few of the hubbers I really find interesting. But I am sure there are many more, all I need to do is reach them. But most of the hubs are really interesting around here..Thanks for your reply

          I say what everyone else says. I think you also interact with other like right here in the forums. Do research on the internet, use whatever free tools you can find. Read a lot, especially hubs that will help you with your writing and marketing of your hubs.

    Participate in Forums,
    Answer Questions and
    Follow more people (Encourage New hubbers).

    Just keep trying different things. I have written about a variety of topics. Keyword research is nice, but overrated. I have found topics I thought would perform amazingly well and they fell flat, while others that seemed destined to be non-performers make me many dollars each month.

    I would like to plug a little hub hopping too. By hopping, you are exposed to alot of different writers and writing styles. You also are exposed to different types of writing that you may not have considered. You will even come across others that you may want to follow.

    Same here. I've researched and tried SEO, and the hubs don't get any traffic. Often it's the ones I just wrote because I felt like it that get the most attention. I write all Evergreen stuff, don't get into any holiday stuff.

    Unpredictable is definitely Hubpages!  Hubbing, reading, joining forums may all help but you never know what is going to get you where you want to go. As several people said, when you write what you think is a great hub it gets no traffic.  Then you write what you think is a so-so hub and it gets tons of hits.  Keep reading and writing!

    Well said.  I wrote a hub about getting a job in one month, and yes it did well.  But the one that is my #1 hub right now is - for whatever the reason - deck railings!  It is really a hot hub.  I guess there are a lot of woodworkers out there!  LOL

    It seems to be that the more hubs you have and the more you participate in the forum, people tend to follow you just because you have a lot of hubs. It helps to have a good character as well though.

    I'm just starting out this year with HubPages. I appreciate all the comments to this thread and I appreciate having the forum. It's like having your own learning center at your finger tips. Plus the knowledge you get here you can use outside of HubPages. Oh Yeah, and you make a lot of friends too.

    Something spectacular happened today.  Working hard to raise my earnings I have tried everything, but income is raising slowly. Today, while  playing with the new HP icon for checking contra ban I noticed a way to investigate the  A' s after all my hubs. Well if you have blue A's after you hub you haven't written a summary for the hub. Apparently summaries are supposed to increase traffic to hubs. The icon at the bottom of my account told me how to add to my hubs. Hint, after you write the summery you just close the edit box on your hub.  It saves automatically and the A goes away.

       I added summaries to all my hubs, and it did help my traffic. But I see some of my hubs on Google, not copied, but with different summaries. I don't understand who is writing them. They are flattering and some of the stuff is showing up on a Best of Hubpages list, so I'm happy about that.  Fellow Mumbaite, beginners often write the whole hub in one capsule. Don't do that, use several. Later on you will probably add pictures or Rss feeds, and you almost have to rewrite the whole hub if its in one capsule. Spread it out. Write on Word and make sure you backup whatever you write. Most of us go back to our first hubs and think they are terrible. So you probably will redo your beginning stuff. Best wishes.

       Yes tirelesstraveler, even i noticed the A's few times back and wondered why they were there. We definitely need to add a engaging summary to the hub as  the summaries do work as one way of attracting traffic.

    I would suggest making a checklist that you refer to for each hub, and add to the list as you discover new and important things to include or do for each hub. That way you won't forget important steps or valuable pieces of information you have used along the way. In the end, having a system that you follow really frees up time to write more. That way, you're not always thinking - "oops I forgot a summary on those three hubs", or "I should go back and add more than the minimum of two tags to those hubs", or "uugghh, I forgot to add my latest hub on health issues to my health hub" etc.

       By the way, did you know you can create groups in my account and drag similar hubs to the group and then on the actual hub under the voting box links to all the hubs in that same group appear?
