In an article Fluck cowrote with Karen Ho in the Georgetown Journal of Gender Law, she writes "Transgender persons wishing to undergo the gender reassignment process frequently face heterosexist employer health insurance policies that label the surgery as cosmetic or medically unnecessary and therefore uncovered."

Okay, so now we have a new word that applies to health insurance: HETEROSEXIST. Learn it big_smile

Nope, not gonna even consider it a valid word until the other side learns the word heterophobia and places it in the dictionary alongside all those liberal-coined re-definitions.

And thanks for the info.  Looks like Fluke's real agenda is being revealed.

So, now it is your mission to attack everything the woman has ever said just because Rush insulted her?

Wow, the woman has opinions that differs from you... how dare she?

Of course, I would turn my back on Obama rather than shake his hand. lol

THIS is their idea of being a human being:

"Patricia Heaton was having her Twitter Fans send condoms to Fluke over her testimony on womans health care"

This woman, who has fakeness all over her body?? Gender reasignment? How about buying new body parts to make yourself look sexy?
And then WE have to pay for the viagra of her boyfriends!

Just think, LMC. If we each sent Fluke a condom, she'd be set and wouldn't have to spend her time testifying to Congress. She could become a lawyer then we could all dislike her equally.

As a pre-op transsexual in Australia, I have to have private health cover to have my gender corrective surgery in my own country. Our Labour (Socialist) Government has just made it harder for regular working class people to be able to afford this.

Now my best (only?) option is to travel to Singapore where I can have the surgery done at a cheaper price for the same quality result.

Wow this idiocy of calling labor governments socialist has spread to Australia too? I am not a big Gillard fan but if you think she is actually a socialist you need to go do some serious reading.

She argues she wants the government involved in getting her birth control pills paid for.  She would be the same one that argues to keep the government out of her bedroom.  And, if she got pregnant, it is her body, and she will decide if she will have an abortion.  The government should keep their nose out of her business.

Is there some reason you are picking on birth control? Cause you do know insurance pays for a lot of healh coverage. Why do you have a problem with birth control?

Why do you expect an organization that doesn't believe in birth control to pay for it?

Thank you. I don't want a sex change, don't know any one who does, but it seems like this would fall in the category of Elective Surgery. Should we also pay for facelifts and tummy tucks?

I find the double standard interesting:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/0 … d%3D141460

I don't condone the use of derogatory words against females, but I find it interesting that RFK's allusion to one woman being a prostitute is being virtually ignored, but when Rush does it--- it makes me wonder, is than issue about something that is truly offensive to women everywhere? Or is this just a smear campaign on one political party?

The memo was posted website of the Traffic Directors Guild of America, an association of professionals who distribute paid advertisements to radio stations. It was quickly deleted but ThinkProgress obtained a copy from a Google snapshot of the site taken on March 9.
