Who here thinks that there is a need for a 100% uncensored forum?  A forum that everyone has the freedom to say whatever they want to without having to worry about offending anyone or getting banned.  There could be a disclaimer explaining that the forum is 100% uncensored, and if you are easily offended this place is not for you!

I'm just tired of these bible thumping holy rollers coming in to a thread just to tell everyone that they can't believe what they are reading and how everyone is going to hell.  Then they start fighting with everyone that doesn't agree with them, and start threating to get people banned.

I'm not afraid of being banned.  I've been banned from almost everything at one point of my life, so if I get banned it's gonna be worth it.
My point is that I'm tired of people coming into a conversation that they have nothing to do with and telling everyone that they are all wrong because they don't live along the same retarded guidelines they do.

To a point it's cool.  When they have a hint of a sense of humor, it's cool.  When they can take a joke and roll with it, it's cool.  But when they think that they are above everyone and can do no wrong, that's when I have to fight back the urge to make them cry.

I'm personally not against forums without rules, but I have a feeling it may cause more bad blood on hubpages in regards to personal attacks.

Warning or not, people of all sensitive or callous sensibilities will join in.

I think it's asking for more problems and may encourage more immaturity because people can say as they please.

It gets pretty juvenile here sometimes anyway.

There are many loosely or unmonitored forums I've been on, full of adults...you'd think it was full of teens. Many can dish it but can't take it...and those hard feelings will seep over into normal forums.

lol...seems like someone's had enough! yes, i do agree that it would be great to voice whatever comes into your mind, but can we really do that here or anywhere in fact?

these forums are just like a mini society in real life.... unfortunately it takes all sorts, and banning people with easily fragile sensitivities is just not possible. so we just watch our words....or risk getting banned ourselves! roll

As someone who has lost count of the number of times I have been banned I disagree. I enjoy a bit of fun on here but at times I have gone over the top and deserved the bans, personal attacks should lead to a ban. Now adult banter is different as long as it doesn't step over a certain line.

Me, I enjoy the banter but tis a matter of following the rules as well, which can work for you as well, and will smile

There is e-mail, IM, and other forums where an uncensored conversation could take place.  Hubpages is user/family friendly, and that means the censorship needs to remain in place.

how do we know if ones idea is wrong, how do we know that ours is correct, ideas are just created by yourselves according to the way we see it, trying to impose ones idea of correctness and how to behave is just being a dictator or ehtnocentric...

we should just respect where everybody is coming from instead of threatening them to be banned etc.....

we cant affod to becoem absolutist, being a relativist is best...

Knowing if your ideas are right or wrong is only one side of the issue. Imposing them on someone else is a childish form of disrespect, in my opinion. But in discussing them with another person who is also an adult, one may make the assumption that they are perfectly capable of responding for themselves, in whatever way they believe to be appropriate.

For myself, I wouldn't ever want to deny someone that option. Whether or not they do so with civility is up for speculation, and separates the men from the boys, so to speak. I would much rather see how people choose to conduct themselves on their own, with no restrictions. You get far more insight into who they are that way.

For the record, one of the joys of having rules is to be able to ignore them all together at times. Because I am for certain rules does not ever mean that I am for them in all cases, in all ways. That would never work for me. Hence, I like Mark's approach...

I've been on a forum that had a section people had to have permission to be able to view. The section was pretty much uncensored once you had permission to be there. The forum closed the section after a few months. The owners decided they weren't going to get in trouble for the people who got terribly upset. Apparently the section got pretty nasty and the owners felt there was going to be big issues associated with that.  Plus someone got upset and went tot he owner and took it out on them. Not HP responsibility.

I understand that everyone has their own definition of the word uncensored, and I realize that there is a good possibility of things getting out of control, but it's a freedom thing.  I'm not looking for a place to freely make personal attacks, but a place that you can freely talk about whatever without having to censor yourself.
