My Conundrum

   I've been here a while, posted hubs, had hubs help people, read about SEO, made a few Adsense bucks, read about Amazon capsules and made a couple sales, unable to get in Ebay network...Anyway I'm conflicted about what I'm writing for.
   
   I want to make lots of money. I want to provide highly informative hubs to help people. The two goals are in conflict at times and I feel my endeavors are futile even though I had 40 views, my best day yet. I also find it hard to keep writing.
   
   Any Advice?

      to N. Ramius....oh, you need to think and decide really for yourself. Be patient and work more diligently. For the time being forget about the compensation, write your best articles and you will earn soon.

      Making money doing this is hard work. If you want to make any money with adsense and Amazon - you need thousands of views. But you will have to spend time on generating those views. I have written a couple of hubs on the subject.

      Six months of hard work and you can be making a reasonable income - but you will probably need your own sites as well as writing here, and you will need to dispose of your writer's ego and start writing about things that pay rather than things you want to write about. Occasionally they combine (like maybe if you looove new cell phones) but not often,.

      You can do both - one way is to write one commercial Hub followed by a Hub written for pleasure. That way, you can have the best of both worlds without compromising your ideals. Ryankett is a good example of that - he has a good mix of money-making Hubs and informative ones that he wrote for pleasure.
      
      Either way, the above guys are right - you need to play the numbers game and write a lot of Hubs.

   Use the Idea Bank for further ideas to write about. Also, realize it's going to take time. A lot of us started right where you are too. Don't despair. Keep writing, get traffic, build. smile now.

   Keep writing. If you obsessively check your stats and don't write, you're wasting time. I notice you have 14 Hubs at the time of this post. Why not set yourself a goal to write 6 more to bump that up to 20 Hubs? Then from there, set another goal to write 10 more to bump it up to 30, and so on. Just keep writing.

   Making lots of money in a short time?  You could try  being a dancer for Chippendales. But if you want to do it via writing and writing for Hubpages you're gonna have to be a lot more patient. If you're having a hard time writing because you don't feel you're being well compensated for your effort, you're going to have to think hard about how Hubpages works and whether it's for you.
   
   Hubpages as it is gives you a leg up in rankings so that Google actually finds your hubs so that people can read it.  And 40 views a day is nothing.  The super earners on this site get thousands of views a day.
   
   I am trying to get 100 views a day consistently and it is hard.

   I agree with the others, it does take time and effort, but you know everything worth doing does. Also writing should be enjoyable, if I didn't enjoy writing I would not do it, regardless of the money. Maybe you should take a break and really think about your motives for writing. Which is more important to you the money or your words?
