How about "game" under main meals?
Would it be possible to get a somewhat more general "sustainable agriculture" subcategory in ethics, farms & farming, or both? Concerns about animal welfare, environmental impact, and human health and nutrition are all wrapped up in sustainable agriculture issues and it's hard to separate them out.

How about:
1) Indigenous Cuisine under "World Cuisine"- I'm thinking Native American and Indigenous Peoples around the world - 1000s of different groups in North America alone.
2) Food Anthropology under "Food"- This would include histories and cultures of foods, food preparation, and nutrition.
3) Fusion Cuisine under "World Cuisine"
Lots of good topics and subtopics, already. These will be fun!

Question: Maybe it was already explained and I missed it (in that case I apologize) are each of our already existing hubs going to transfer into all of these categories automatically or will we have to do it manually?
Could I also ask for a Hungarian category as I have quite a couple of recipe hubs and Austrian Belgian too please. What about Christmas speciality dishes?
You know I understand why you didn't wanted to have these categories on hubpages to beginn with. It is going to get soooo confusing and complicated.

Wow Huge list - a lot of work
I don't know how "International" you want to be with this list, but I get a reasonable bit of traffic from google.co.uk (it is my 4th biggest referrer) and this list is very, very American.
e.g. - In the UK, appetizers are called starters or entrées and hors d'oeuvre should probably be included as a category?
You know, fancy appetizers
I can see BEER already in the list.

@Lissie: I'll keep your suggestion in mind. I'll look through the existing hubs to see which categorization works the best alcoholic vs wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic vs juice, soda, smoothies.
@kerryg: I like Sustainable Agriculture. I'll add it to Farm & Farming and add a See Also to Ethics & Traditions.
@Patty Inglish: I'll think about Indigenous Cuisine. It seems to me that it may be better to break it out into Cultures such as Native American, Maori, etc. I'll think about it to see what I come up with.
I like Food Anthropology. This seems like a good fit under Ethics & Traditions. I'll add Fusion
under World Cuisine.
@Zsuzsy Bee: The plan is to reorganize all our existing hubs under the new categories. We are simultaneously working on tools to make this migration as painless as possible.
I'm fine with adding Hungarian, Austrian, Belgian to the cuisines.
I am open to adding a Special Occasion Foods subcategory. I currently have it as a See Also but I'm open to adding it as an additional category.
@Mark Knowles: Great point. Maybe "Starters & Snacks" would be a better name than "Appetizers & Snacks".
