The entries on this new site are older than the one I had taken down because it was a starter site. It gave links at the end of each post to the site I had taken down.

I don't know if anyone saw this forum topic I made that you are now reading, but there are over 600 hubbers who have articles uploaded to healthylivingbox. for a total of over 1000 hubs stolen.
I had the parent company taken down last year, I didn't know there were straggler sites that had links leading to the parent company. If you go to your work - his post, it shows part of your hub, but then a link leading to the parent site, which is no longer there, thanks to my takedown. We just need to get this one down too because it misdirects traffic for us.
Besides it is a Google site (they own blogger) and they will take it down.

from the other forum. That is going to be harder. tell billybuc he has a few on there, and so do a some of his followers. Anyone who wonders why they aren't making money on HP = traffic getting misdirected could be a possible reason.
The account I moderate for awordlover has 21 hubs copied to that kakun site. I don't have what it takes to do all that work. I'm going out with my family today and I'll tackle it on Monday.

Good luck on your DMCA's. It's a nuisance to us, but if it results in a takedown, then it's worth it.
You need to check again. All the titles have content. There is not one empty article under a title because I looked at over 10 categories full of articles.
The reason I did that is because I found some titles that were similar to awordlover's articles but the article was not hers. Then I found some of the titles of hubbers' works that did not match their articles in entirety - only portions matched.
In many cases, they took a title from one hub author and put content from another hub author to place in their article. So far today, I have found 17 that have awordlover's work but not her titles. Large paragraphs of her articles are mixed with others to condense into one article.
The site is a capsulized version of Hubpages. It looks like they went about it as a pick and choose, trying to get the hubs that would draw the most traffic, maybe. I don't know, but that's what it looks like.
I found several paragraphs from awordlover's MS articles condensed into several arthritis articles. I found paragraphs from "how to" on creative writing mixed in with other writers who also wrote 'how to" articles on writing. They took a lot from billybuc and even left his picture on the listing so you can see it is his, just going down the title list.
I sent an email as per Writer Fox's instructions (TYVM) and filed the way he directed and can only wait and see what happens from here. If enough of us get attention to this, then the rest won't have to do anything because the site will just be taken down.
Then we will have to be vigilant for where it pops up again, because I'm sure they kept copies of their uploads after doing all that translating with a program that didn't even correctly translate. Some are so totally off the mark with what American words mean (or are out of context) and it is very evident in their translations.
I strongly feel that Hubpages needs to assist in these massive article copying sites. It's OK for individual authors to chase a couple of articles of their own, but seriously, if there are thousands of hubs stolen, I feel that Hubpages should step in to protect their writers and the integrity of the site.
I agree and there is a way to prevent copying and pasting. The reason I know is I found an article with large sections from one of my hubs. When I tried to copy and paste it, so I could send it in an email to them, I couldn't. So there is a way to do it. Where is Hubpages on this one.
There is a way to disable it so no one can right click to get it. I do it on my blog, it ticks off readers, but I don't care.

It wouldn't really. The big problem with theft on HubPages isn't from individuals copying a chunk of an article. It's with professionals using scraping software, and right-click protection won't stop that.
True. I saw there was a lot of scraping software available. But no right click might get rid of a few stupid people.
In the past month, whole articles have been copied from awordlover's hubs. The scraping was bad also, about 90 sites with about 200 scraped content citings that I filed against - primarily Wordpress.com. I just received the last report from them that all have been removed and I checked to make sure. But then the real work begins. I have to go to URL removal and put each one in for removal so that Anne DiGeorge's name stops coming up in the search results, so URL removal takes those out since the sites are no longer live.
But all of the full content copies have not been removed and they should be easier to prove since the whole article is there word for word. The scraper should take longer to prove because they really have to look for individual phrases to locate them unless they have some sort of reverse scraper tool to find them! . Since I have been taking care of awordlover's account (June 2013), I have filed no less than 275 DMCA for fully copied hubs and about 200 for scraped content. Any way I look at it, this is work I shouldn't have to do. If right click were disabled so they can't copy the work - by scrapers or by viewing (copy pasting), then it would make being here on HP a pleasure. No you don't. They will disappear naturally with time. The URL removal just gets it gone faster.
It's just the nature of writing on an article site, I'm afraid. HubPages is a magnet for scrapers and copiers and always has been - just look at the related searches under this thread, and you'll see this has been going on for years. Pre-Panda, you could make big money by setting up a scraper website using a source like HubPages to create a huge site with a constant flow of fresh content - exactly what Google was looking for. Google is tougher on duplicate content these days, but there are still plenty of "internet gurus" flogging the idea to newbies, and so it continues.Marisa, I have fair knowledge of the differences between the two since I've been filing DMCA removals on awordlover's behalf since last June. Some people here on HP have been so kind to explain to me the differences and Google has returned some of my filings telling me that what I thought was copied content was indeed scraped because they have a separate form just for scraped content and I was directed to fill out that form instead.

I never bother filing a DMCA with Google anyway. I'm not satisfied with getting the site removed from the search engines - I want to get their site closed down and hopefully get them banned from Adsense, so I always go for the hosting company and Adsense. If those work, the site will disappear from the SERPs in its own good time anyway.
It looks as though it has already been removed. Besides, I'm not sure I understand why it would require so much attention? If you file with the hosting company, you don't have to file a separate DMCA for each individual article - just list the lot on one email, using the correct wording, and send it to the correct email address, and you're done.Matt Cutt's site says the Google scraping reporting tool is ONLY if the offending site outranks yours. So if it doesn't they don't want you using that tool. So I file DMCA because I don't care if it isn't outranking me, I want it gone anyway because the offender copied the work.
Marisa, if you don't bother filing DMCA with Google, then you wouldn't know that they limit you to 10 groups of filings per form. When you have volume like I did, they require you to cite each item you are complaining about, the infringing site (10 to a group) and your copyrighted reference site on each group. With 10 as limit, I had to do it 14 times to cover 140 filings and keep it all straight.
The reason to file with Google is because the hosting company either does not respond or has no contact info. Once the URL is taken down, if you want it out of search results you have to file URL removal or Google can take months before they get to it. In the meantime it keeps showing up in search results when people search YOUR keywords. Even though your site comes up first, people will always want to look for others as references or to see if there is any info is different, new or newer.
But On sites that said Powered by Wordpress.com (as opposed to wordpress.org), I didn't know that Google won't act on them because Wordpress.com has their own reporting system at automattic. com /dmca. For more than 2 months, I didn't understand why wordpress URLs were not getting attention like the other filings until a friendly hubber clued me in. On their form you can only list ONE at a time. This week, I called their attorney so I could talk to a human and I was told I didn't have to use their form because of the volume I had and that I could put them all in emails. So they could keep them straight he said to limit each email to 25 sites as long as they had the same scraped content on each, and send it to him. He took the sites down within 15 minutes. For example:
Many sites had Copyright Anne DiGeorge 2009, sprinkled into their articles that were mostly sexual in nature. They were talking about sex, the act, switched to Bible verses and then her name was put in the middle of it. Her name has no business being on their websites in the first place since the article was not authored by her. But since 145 sites had her copyright info mixed into their garbled posts, I had to file with Wordpress's automattic .com/ dmca one at a time (i.e. per form) until the lawyer told me I could send him an email with 25 on each one. I got about 40 done before I started using the email.
Then there were other 'select phrases and sentences' from 13 of her medical articles that were also sprinkled in more than 40 other Wordpress sites and they had to be filed separately until I was directed to do it by email. The only reason I had to file at all is because when I highlight select sentences from her hubs and put into a Google search, all their articles came up in the search with her's being 1st, but with all theirs under that. I also Google her name just to make sure her name isn't attached to anything I don't already know about. That is how I found her name and copyright mixed into their splogs (lawyer called them that!). So he told me that Scraping is select sentences or phrases that are mixed into other people's sentences and phrases and usually make no sense.
Content scraping is when full paragraphs and articles are put into topic context and the thief takes them as their own authorship.

content scraping is the same as stealing either the whole article or paragraphs of article.
So while some call it by one name and others call it by another, it still comes down to stealing the works. It is just a matter of how much of the work is stolen. I usually go after sites that steal a paragraph or more, but because these sites chose to take her name with the word COPYRIGHT as if she wrote it! and more than 40 phrases for each of their articles, I went after them for that.
I know I said I wouldn't close her account, and I am certainly going to try to hang in there, but the reason the other 2 moderators quit is because of all the copying. They couldn't protect her work and they gave up. I can see now why they did because it is exhausting trying to keep up. I spend more time on this site than any of the other sites where she was a contributor and this is the only site where her work gets copied.
There is something wrong when one site gets copied this much and it doesn't happen to any of the other sites where her name has been on their contributor list since 2007. None of the content on those sites has ever been found to be copied. That doesn't say it never was, but it means no one ever caught it. The work on those sites doesn't show up in search engines the way her HP articles show up stolen, in part or in full. I know she is not alone because I read what others write that their work is stolen too. But it is only this site, so why is that?Did Google tell you that? It doesn't make sense. Reporting to Google gets a site removed from the search results: reporting it to a host or blogging platform (like Wordpress.com) gets it closed down.
I'm glad you've discovered you can use email to report multiple URL's. You can take the exact same approach with any host - they never "have to be done separately". It's just a case of finding the right email to send it to, as they usually have a special one for DMCA purposes. If you're having trouble finding contact details for a host, it's worth posting on the forums because sometimes other people can help (WriterFox is a mine of information on that). I've never had more than a handful to report to any one host, so I didn't know about the limit - that's a nuisance.
Well he's wrong, as the references you gave me prove. The only difference between copying and scraping is that scraping is copying done automatically from the computer screen, not manually. What the output looks like, depends on the software used and what people do with it after that. Some thieves run the output through a translator into another language, then back again. Some mix it up with other words to fool the duplicate content checkers. Some "spin" it (substitute synonyms). These are all additional processes which are done after the scraping, they are not scraping - but they are all automated. And as you say, it doesn't really matter what the word means, it's still theft.
As for "why HubPages" - as I explained in my other answer, I'm not surprised that HubPages is the only place her work is stolen. These get-rich-quick scrapers want to build a huge website fast, and then they want lots of fresh content every day to impress Google. HubPages has a huge database of articles and is adding more every day, so it's the perfect source - they can set up their scraping software to monitor HubPages, walk away and their job is done. Why bother trawling through lots of smaller sites when you can do it all with one click?

The theft on Hubpages lately is from people who are either still on Hubpages with dormant accounts or former hubbers on Hubpages who are still here with ghost accounts. There are several forums in last few days on this topic. The one I am writing about here is a hubber who copied all the ones listed at the top of this forum page.
Do not go by the title. Go to the site and click on it to see if it is your work. he changed some of the titles. I found awordlover's work under a different title, same article. So click and check,don't go by the title I gave you at top.
I resent that he had the nerve to copy any of us when he knows the rules. His account has no posts, he's been a member for 3 years. And stolen hubs have been going on for a long time, but I bet this isn't his first claim to fame making these two websites to steal our work. He was also stupid because he left names on many of the copied work.
I agree, disabling copy and paste won't stop it - but it sure would make it harder to scrape the content.Not really, because scrapers use software that can bypass all that.
I appreciate the new copied hubs feature, but I agree we need more help to fight this plague.

I write on several other sites - commonly criticized in the HP forums - where this has never been an issue for me.

My first thought was great! They took it down. But, when I went to the site, it is still there.
Use a different browser like Chrome or Firefox. IE doesn't open all webpages.
