Look at all these lovely, empty subforums in art and writing. sad

I was wondering if there are some other painters around.

As for me, I am a watercolor painter, and also enjoy inking and occasionally using Japanese Copic markers. My themes vary from fantasy to gothicism, usually with female subjects.

So, where's all my painters at?
If so, what medium do you prefer painting in? Subjects?
Is it a hobby or something you make some money off of? How long have you painted? And, add anything else.

Speak up, so we can bring NEW discussion to 'em repetitive forums.

I paint acrylic on canvas.  My wife is my biggest collector but I try to sell them as soon as the paint is dry.

Finding the time to paint is becoming more and more difficult.  When I was lecturing part time my mind was in that mode.  Now that I'm in business full time the rhythm is different.  I guess HubPages has stolen me from my art studio as well.

I have done about two hubs on art.

Interesting---I'll check them out. Yea, I used to be kind of prolific, but now I hardly pump out any paintings.

Texan-Hey, if you feel that way. Art can be just about anything based on perspective.

I sketch mostly, I have been working on writing a science fiction book for a very long time now and am working on illistration's for that.
I find it easier to draw the female form then the male, I don't know why. I also especially like drawing tree's, a bit random I know LOL!

I paint, nudes and portraits mostly, for hobby and fun. Sold some twenty odd pieces in the past, but horde my babies to myself mostly. Acrylic and oil on canvas.  Also ink drawings. Nothing much to boast about. Peace, CC

I painted years ago to take my mind off of pain. I mostly painted kids and angels.  Some of my work is on my hubs.  It's not great stuff but it got me through a hard time. smile

That's great. I am writing a 'book' rather a script for my graphic novel and drawing it.

Is this a graphic novel/book you are making or do you just enjoy illustrating your characters from your book?

Ralwus-Psh, that's great you've sold some...def. worth mentioning. I have sold some prints, but no originals..;(

Tom-It doesn't have to be great. Art is as much of a hobby for me as it is a stress reliever. smile

I prefer acylics and oils, but overall I'm a comic book type of artist who just draws alot and inks my drawings, am working on several graphic novels which seems like forever trying to bring them together.

That's awesome. I'm working on a graphic novel too. It truly is great to incorporate art with writing.

Thanks again, Brother Misha! Nice new avatar you got too!

Everybody seems to be doing graphic novels wow! I am doing one, but not illustrating it. Writing the script and art editing it. The producer of the comic is in the US, I'm here in India and the artist is in Argentina. smile

I took art studies in college. Sadly more, theories less applicarion. Should've taken studio arts instead. But I make up for it by hubbing about art, particularly painting cool
