Yeah, they are REALLY dead.  Except for those damn pesky zombies.  But if you shoot them in the head they die, keeping them from eating your brain.

I don't know how true this is, but I think death was not even supposed to exist. It merely was created long ago. Like I think perhaps a millennium ago people would not even know what death is. Death is merely a punishment. Life is a test?

Death... What it is?.. is a good question which many cannot answer.

When someone dies are they really dead? ...
Silly question whch make it plain that the first cannot be answered.

Is a leaf dead when it falls to the ground? When an animal gets run over by a car is it dead? What happens to dead things?  The body is decaying, yet with in everything is a light.  As the light goes out, it is consumed with darkness.  Death is absence of light.  What is light?  Einstein says it best and our substance is made up of light.  Light is color, sound, energy, touch, forward movement, words etc...
Imagine if the light went out all over...there would be complete blackness, colder than the coldness in space, no sound but absolute silence, no touch or movement since light is an energy. You would be dead but your spirit would be alone with just what your mind has imagined though out your life time.  If you were left with just your mind, alone you would soon start to go mad with just your thoughts.  That would bring on weeping and torment and a strong desire to escape.  But to where?  That is death, absence of light.  What is light?  Jesus is the Light of the world, the world.  He is the word, the word is light...Right now the light sustains the world and even in decay there is new life because light exist on earth.  The bible says that dust to dust ashes to ashes, man will return to the earth as he came.  Yet, if you receive the Light your spirit will not taste death but immediately be in the presence of all loving light in heaven.

Death--the cessation of life; an unconscious state of nonexistence.

No one die, just soul go away from one body to another body. So never cry as no one die but soul changing his or her constumes (body)

Soul goes away and then new human birth.

No!! only their physical body dies, but their soul remains alive. Then they take birth some where else in another body to purify their soul.

Are you looking for "Is there life after death" type of answer? Gotta love those questions. I'm not dead so I couldn't answer. Your body is definitely dead, since no vitals and you're possibly in the ground. If you're still alive in that body then you're basically screwed. I'd like to think we leave our bodies and move on to Hub Heaven and live there but I can only say for sure If and when I make it there. But we are not allowed back on Hub Pages so I won't be able to answer.

I would do all you can to be sure...it would suck to end up dead and find out that you could have learned the truth.   Seek and find out...get a bible and ask God if he is real.  Then if you have sought and did your work and still can not know...at least you searched and you know you did all you can to find out.

Speculation only, I think our bodies are gone but our inner-self, soul if you will, continues on to a higher plane. Heaven, Shangrala, Vallhala whatever you choose to call it. I say Heaven.

I imagine it's like anaesthesia. I've been anaesthetised about twice in my life, and waking felt like waking from complete nothingness. If that's all it is, I'm not worried about it; but I do love life, so it hopefully won't happen too soon ...

Death is when your soul leaves your body. Our bodies are just a way for us to exist on earth.

When our time is over on earth I hope our soul goes to a better place.

Like the song says This is Our Temporary Home by Carrie Underwood.

You know when a bug crawls up your neck and you smack it, turning it into a smudge on your palm?

Whatever happens to the life of that bug happens to every single living thing. Quite peaceful actually, like a sleep you never awake from. smile

What if I am wrong? I live my life honest and fair, helping more than many who call themselves religious. If there was a god or whatever I'm sure I'd be ok with him/her/it. smile

What if your wrong? Same thing actually, you just die, so it's no big deal. Sooooooo, it does not matter to me or you if we are wrong, lol. Chill out and live life, you only have one dear. smile

The Bible says that death "is like sleeping", that the dead "know nothing" and that all who believe in God and accept Him into their hearts will be brought back to life and restored to perfection one day.. A perfection we lost when we chose sin.

God is so amazing becuase we are sinners and deserve death, but He loves us SO much, the thought of spending eternity without us is SO bad to God that He sacrificed His only son so that we could get a chance to live forever with them.

God is faithful! I love God big_smile
