I quit publishing a while back after only 12 hubs...but have to admit I am encouraged to keep on going now. And finally starting to see a bit of money coming in too.....( a bit....lol). I was so excited when I started just under a year ago, then all the negativity got to me. Also most of the views are for three hubs....maybe I need to concentrate on the niches that get read instead on indulging my own curiosity. Anyway, it feels great to know that 10,000 people have read my stuff and maybe I made a bit of (better) difference in some lives out there. Anyway....hurray!
Hi Sheri, Yeah it was the same case with me as well initially. Infact I got slowed down in publishing hubs inbetween. But really I saw the difference once after I kept my negativity away and started publishing hubs as usual. I was able to make 43000 hits with 60 hubs(though they were not niche hubs). But still it is interesting for me to keep publishing cooking recipe related hubs as it's my passion . Anyways congrats & keep going. Never stop. All the very best to see more hits.
Thanks Choose to live. I just checked out your hubs and recipes and have always wanted to try Indian cooking. I had an Indian lady working for me and she used to bring in these yummy crunchy lightly spices things. She said it was a dough that they dropped into oil I think. I can not remember what she called them but it was a snack type thing and like long string things. Do you know what they are called and do any of your hubs have the recipe for them? I know...not a very good description. And wow! 43000 hits! Congrats! Lots of people eating yummy meals because of you!
Oh great Sheri & you are welcome to my hub to see new recipes that are yet to come. Based on what you said, I assume the snacks is called in south india as Medu vada. Though we won't make it that spicy. But the pepper seed & sometimes green chilly (we don't add green chilly in any our recipe) that is being added would give the spice taste. However we would publish that recipe as well in coming month. But only point I don't understand is long string things. Anyways we would post this hub shortly. Sorry if we didn't get our assumption right. Our hubs has lots of snacks recipes as well. But if you tell us which Indian snacks you love to know, then we could post the recipes of those as well in our hub. Credit goes to my wife in preparing the recipe & me posting them in the hubpages Thanks & welcome. Mr & Mrs.Choosetolive
You may be right. My favorite hubs I wrote were on insects and English and they get very little attention. I think people search the net for "what's in it for me" type thing or a quick how to rather than the "why's". Are you allowed to post on here your best performers so I can read them? Or a search term? Thanks again!
Congratulations on reaching that great milestone!!! I'm seeing some traffic rising on 3 of my Hubs, but I have a long way to go to hit 10,000 views. I am getting close to a hundred every day on a couple of them though, so that is progress. Keep up the great work!!!
I usually don't post milestones in the forum, but wanted to share this one with you. Hopefully it will encourage others.I reached 100,000 views sometime in Sept or Oct., 2011 Yesterday or very early this morning I reached 200,000 views - I have 58 hubs.I was amazed to see how many views...
I just reached 100,000 views on 35 Hubs. (I only had 2 beginning in May of this year.) So, you can get great traffic from Google on HubPages! I'm happy about the traffic, but I wish the CPM were higher.
Woop, woop . . . I hit another milestone today, 100,000 views to my hubs. Yeaaay! I'm grateful to all of my fellow hubbers who read and share my hubs. But I'm eternally grateful to those who come by way of organic traffic. Organic traffic is King. Woop, woop!Advice: Patience and luck. Having one or...
