I bet you didn't know that Hubs are numbered in order.
If you are editing your Hub, and you look at the URL while you are in edit-mode, you will see a number at the end. That number indicates the order in which your Hub was created in with all the others. Of course, Hubs get deleted, so there are probably millions of Hub numbers missing from the site.
What's the number of your oldest/first Hub?
My oldest/first hub shows #421, meaning it was the 421st Hub created on the site. (Eight years ago this very month)
What's the number on the first Hub you ever created?
Congratulations on the eight years of Hubs. This is interesting, Relache. I never noticed the number before.
My first one says 815,949
Congrats Relache, on making it eight years. It's always an honor to be in your presence, I meant that.
I have deleted several hubs that were trash, IMO, but the oldest one I have published is #2,253,882
3,510,526 published January 8, 2013.
I didn't know what I was doing, so my first hub has a permalink that doesn't match the topic.
#3,946,129 and it was created last month. I did not know this O.o
I have always noticed that number while in edit mode, but I never knew it was a sequential counter of all hubs. I already deleted my first hubs a long time ago, but the oldest I have at this time is numbered 911,063. It's from Oct 2009.
Yours 911,063
October 2009
Mine 814,580
10 September 2009.
96,483 hubs in one month! (depending on your exact date)
Sue, the exact date of my oldest remaining hub was 20th of Oct 2009. So that's 40 days later than yours. The average monthly increase would therefore be 72,362 hubs.
At that time. The average monthly growth is probably a lot higher today.
Yeah, I meant at that time. But presently the number of hubs is decreasing. A year ago in July 2013 we had 1,051,759 published hubs. Now in July 2014 we have only 845,280 published hubs. I've been keeping tabs on that. Source: http://hubpages.com/about/us
That's probably due to all the crap that has been filtered out since the quality standards went up. So it's a good thing.
I keep those records too.
We now have fewer registered users on the site than we did in April of 2009.
Wow, October 2009 and HubPages was just closing in on their first million Hubs. The next million sure came a lot faster...
My first hub was published on 8/21/09. #764,158
There seemed to be a lot of new users in 2009-10, pre Panda days. I never knew what the number referenced. Thanks for the interesting trivia.
Number 200,665 on 5/2/08.
My first commenter was Lissie, a New Zelander who was around for quite awhile.
3913814 that is my number.. Wow, Hubpages has gone a long way
My first hub is numbered 2,363,242 - published in April 2011.
I tried to figure out which one was number 1 by plugging the number into the hubpages URL in various ways. Alas, I did not succeed.
There used to a lot of ways that you could enter info into a URL and navigate uniquely through the site. You used to be able to go through users by their numbers too.
I know who the first registered user is, but it's clear their single Hub was not the first one ever made. I suspect there are almost no surviving published Hubs as old as my oldest.
Fun fact: The first hub ever made was this one, written by Paul Edmondson.
http://hubpages.com/hub/How_to_Clean_a_ … l_or_Squab
My oldest hub, created on 1/11/10 is # 1,025,877.
Interesting, I didn't know about that number. ;-)
I've deleted a lot, but my oldest remaining (and probably one of the few first handful I did when I first signed up) has 90491 (November 5, 2007). (And I've never known that number is what it is. I tend not to notice those things - so thanks. )
(Oh, and congratulations on the eight years. )
Lord chile,, that would take hours to locate....
{chile is southern for child-
My first hub was published on 6/16/14 .. number #3,950,828 .. Almost 4 million, woah, can only imagine the amount of knowledge shared through this site.
That's interesting - I must not be very observant as I never noticed the number up there when I was in edit mode. My first hub is 2,539,973 - good to know
I honestly never noticed that. Now I'll always keep looking for it lol
I'm hoping over the weekend we hear from more of the folks who arrived in the big swell of 2009-2011. And maybe even an old-timer or two...
Mine was published on 6-10-2010, number is 1,421,704.
Thanks for the information -- I never knew about the meaning of the numbers!
Very cool stat, relache. Thanks for sharing. Mine is 3,340,856 published on 8/27/2012, the same day I joined HP.
You know what one of the most interesting things about these stats is?
You know how you always read posts where people say they can't think of a good title because they can't come up with a unique URL? For almost four million times, people on this site actually have managed to come up with a unique URL. And they keep doing it.
63,508 fairly venerable, in the transient world of hubbery, I guess
Okay, here's one from the range we've not seen reported as much. This one was still in the first 100,000.
I have two Hubs, both are within about 100 of your Hub number. Did you make your first Hub somewhere around August 11, 2007?
Exactly on that date - 11 Aug 2007! And it has been one of my most popular, with about 150 hits a day and over 550 comments. What was your first one about, Relache? Mine was about home wine-making.
739,534 in November 2009, congrats on 8 years I bet a lot has changed in that time!
So much HAS changed. We all used to be able to put up porn and get lots of traffic from it. That's not a joke, that really was how 2007 went.
wow, I know since I started that I've had to unpublish a few risque poems that I wrote, but it's all for the better, creating a better community and better HubPages product (i guess).
Mine is 2,931,595 posted in January of 2012. I saw this number but never knew what it meant. Thanks for sharing relache
1,925,862. Dang! That was a heckuva lotta hubs before I even started. The one I'm working on now is 3,961,518. Just over two million more in 4.5 years.
1,158,198, published on 2-13-10
That said, I have deleted a few, so I'm not sure that was my actual first-ever hub...which is a pair of short poems, not an article.
I'm pretty sure the majority of people here have deleted their first Hubs. I've got some still going because the topics were something I've managed to keep updating for seven years.
If anyone hasn't grasped what "evergreen" really means, think about how many years you can keep updating a Hub. I had already been a content writer on another site for four years when I started here.
Mine is 3,231,232 and it is the very first hub I ever wrote here just over 2 years ago.
These are interesting stats for sure. My first hub was published October 15, 2011. It was 2,761,501
Fun topic! Mine is 790,285. It's about ancient Mayan prophecies and was written in 2012, shortly before a supposed apocalypse. ;-) http://santacruz.hubpages.com/hub/The-2 … -Nonsense.

How to Know if You are a Good Mom
(Still gets consistent views. But my one on friends got me nominated for a Hub Nugget - if you remember those - in that first week. It was a great way to start. Then I was one of the 100 best new hubbers of that year. Haven't won anything since!!!)
by Disillusioned 8 years ago
I took my 30-days page views count; divided it by 30 and further divided it by the number of published hubs. Thus I got a fair representation of my average number of visitors per day per hub. It comes to a whopping 1.6! How about yours?

I have 4 hubs that are unfeatured, and no matter how I try imporving them, they remain unfeatured. Some of them are high scorers: One of them scored 88 today and yet it is still unfeatured. I can't understand this. Can anyone clue me in.
by Carolee Samuda 11 years ago
What's the least amount of views per hub that you would accept before deleting it?Not sure if the question is clear, but what is your criteria for deleting a hub? We know that hubs that do not do well will drag the hubs with potential. When do you delete? How much traffic per month that would make...

So I was bored and decided I would Google some of the topics of a few of my most recent hubs... Two of them popped up on the FIRST PAGE!! WHHHHHAAAAATTT?!??! lol. Sorry, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, but I almost swallowed my own tongue I was so excited and I need to tell...

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they fluctuate so much. What's the point? Am I supposed to use these scores to tell me...

So, I've had a hub unpublished due to HP claiming that it's overly promotional. The hub only has 2 outbound links ( which is the number of links we're allowed to put for the other external sites ) this is the only thing that I'm having in my hub. There is also NO amazon products or Ebay or...
