Yea, I Passed one half million views today! Celebration!

   I took 3 years and 4 months--my first hub was published on 6/17/14-- but I passed 500,000 views this morning. (As of the last update 500,064) views. I was hoping to hit 500 followers for a double whammy, but I am still 6 short. At my current rate of views, I think I will hit one million in 1 to 1 1/2 more years.

         Hang in there, brave warrior. Once it starts to happen for you, it is exponential. You will soon go from every other month, to every month. I think the key to success is to have a lot of high-quality hubs. Even hubs that only get 10-20 views a day--they add up.

       Congrats, Catherine.  Actually, it will go much faster now.  I hit a million fairly quickly once I hit 500,000 and now am only 200,000 away from 2 million...all in less than a year.  I have found this to be true all the way through my journey here.  When I hit 10,000 someone told me views would add up more quickly but I didn't believe them.  That one did take awhile, but it's what happened.  I'll be here 6 years at the end of December, so actually you're doing much better than I did!

          Just kept plugging away day by day view by view. I know others have much more views and others reached this landmark much faster. I got lucky in that I had a few mini-viral events. It will take others longer. I think it helps that a lot of my hubs have been moved to niche sites. I think with another year  f steady submissions, I can get all of them moved.

   Congrats! Interesting how things work differently for different Hubbers. For instance, I've been here almost as long as you, and I have a bit more views but much less followers. Regardless, well done. It's fun to imagine just how many people have had their lives impacted, however briefly, by our work.

      Jeremy, that makes some sense to me.   Having a lot of followers suggests that Catherine might be spending a lot of time interacting within the HubPages community.   That is good for motivation, but doesn't contribute to success.  If Catherine had spent less time in the community and more time writing or networking outside HubPages, her figures might be more like yours. 
      
      So actually when you look at it, Catherine's figures are even more impressive because she's managed to do both at once - be popular in the community here AND get traffic.

   This is awesome Catherine! I've only been on about two months or so, I think I'm at around 1,220 views. I'm really hoping to supplement my income but in the mean time, even getting 10 cents has been so exciting for me!

      It took me 9 months to get my first payout, but after that I made payout almost every month.  It is slow going at first.
