Just got home from Ocean. we had a wonderful time. I always hate when it starts to get dark. As you know I am a sun worshiper.Did a little window shopping at the 5&10 store
on the Island/ Had the whole place to our self It's nice when all the weekenders go home and the Island is so Peaceful. Went to Barnaget where all the fishing Fleet go out of. The one ship is there although I forget the name of hand that is one the show Deadliest Catch"I envy you Mark.. you are hogging all the sun and the sand.. love the beach but I get there just once a year and that too for only one week
You have all the fun you can before it becomes cold again and I shall pray that you get the job that you have applied for so you can have more fun LOL
@ Klara - thank you !! You might find me on your doorstep around February or so... that's when it will be the coldest!!!
@ Sophs -- ha ha ha you have had to have grown up in a climate with four distinct seasons to appreciate it. Without the four seasons, I feel at a loss!!! but, when the warmth is replaced with the cold, I feel lost!!!

Hi Everyone-well I am officially off of my orientation. That's a bit scary b/c now they expect me to know all of this stuff, which is quite different from the other hospital I was in. I'm still driving my hour and half back and forth from my home to my job...but, my schedule is set for three in a row and I stay with a co-worker. That is a great thing EXCEPT I am paying rent on two places.
The other news I have is my hub for the 5K I ran is finished and just posted it this eve. so if anyone is curious about it go to my profile pg and click on it.
Beth-I didn't realize you were working shift work. I fully relate to the fatigue. Hope you are able to move to the place you want. Wouldn't it be lovely if we were all able to retire and sit with Markie on his beach in the summer...and then with Klara in the winters,

And, because he has so many doctor appt's I couldn't try to work and manage that and his schoolwork during the week so I requested w/e's.Gosh..12 hour shifts... the loooooooooooong drives back and forth ... .. and all the baby sitting.. ..I wonder how you do it.. hats off to you Denise.. take good care of yourself

Hi and bye everyone...it is now 3:30 a.m. and I am FINALLY going to bed. My gosh, I have only been on this stupid second shift for a few weeks and I cannot get out of the 'midnight' schedule when I am off of work. Every day this week I have been going to bed at 3-4-5 in the morning. It is insane.
@Beth-I am so happy, happy, happy for you. (that's me skipping)As for my weekend, my dear-well the WEEKENDS are when I work. I am opposite all of my friends here. But, it works for me being home with my nephew during the school week.

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a great weekend!
CARA - The kids did great on the fieldtrip which was really hard to believe. THey looked so cute! They had never been to a theatre and had never seen a musical before. Second row, so you can imagine! They were thrilled, then we went back to school and they came back an hour later for music class, it was back to the disrespect, not wanting to do a thing, not listening, not caring about a thing. So, I gave up. I sat on the computer and waited for their class to be over. I honestly felt like crying. They are so damaged that any attempt to give them love and attention goes unnoticed by them.
DENISE - We are still having our Summer showers every afternoon. We won't see Autumn until it's time for Winter. Still, I went to JoAnn Fabrics and got me a gorgeous Autumn wreath for the door, with berries and red-color maple leafs. It's kind of stupid that we celebrate the seasons when we have 10 months of Summer, and two months of Autumn/Mild Winter.
BETH - I'm here, girl! Nothing happening... just went to a little store in Coconut Grove to buy gifts for two of my friends that are celebrating birthdays.

I made that name up for you Okay. Well lets see, first I put a termastat in the car and that fixed the problem until now I have a leak somewhere of antifreeze and can not see where it is coming from. Now I have to get it to the garage and put it on the lift. The car is too low to see anything from laying on the ground
Now as far as the bed situation, I think you are going to need about 3 king size beds. I guess if Linda comes that would be one and then you have Beth, Denise, Cara and Sophie, but I am not sure she will make it tooooo far away.
Linda went back home (old place) to look at a couple places with Stefani for here wedding Resp. to be held. I can't wait till that day, but maybe I can because my daddys little girl is all grown up and married. That will be say in a way when I have to give her away to the groom
Anyway I have to get a coffe at Mikie Dees, (MacDonalds) thats what I called it catch you later sunshineHey Mark! It's time to buy a new car! Once they start giving you problems you either pay for a mechanic or you pay monthly payments. That's how I see it anyways. I wish you much luck with that.
I'm staying home today, heading to the dr in a little bit. I have a bad sore throat and I think it's another ear infection. I didn't get to the allergist this week because the drive was so bad going home that it took me 1 1/2 hours to get home, not enough time to make it to the allergist. And now I'm feeling it, scratchy sore throat, nasal drip, ears popping. It sucks!
Oh, well, this year I'm planning to take care of myself first even if that means that I have to take some time off work without pay. I have to take care of myself. No one else will.

It was a rainy day here too, on and off, but I don't mind. I love summer rains but hate the cold weather.
I don't have an infection yet but it could head that way. I have to reinforce my allergy medication and nasal sprays this week so that I don't get sick. I missed my allergy shot last week and I can't go without it. I immediately get sick if I do. But I cooked a really good Italian soup today and that made me feel better.
Off to bed now, I have to drag myself to work tomorrow no matter what, even though my body is asking me to sleep all the time.
Turns out that the sun's a little lazy, Mark. It likes it here, down South. He's a hottie and I can't push it your way without getting burned.

Hello Denise, I know exactly what you are talking about. Say it 's now Sunday right. i am already counting the days when I will be off on Saturday. Each day that passes I say well, 4 more days and I'm off. This is what happens when we have a crappy job at least for me that is.
It is like wishing our lives away. So sad, when we are not happy with our employment I have been thinking and putting a few apps in for a different line of work. Marky is BURNED OUT!!!

Bummer that you're weekends are our weeknights. Miss talking with you!! I haven't had a chance to come over and read your 5k, but I will!! My daughter is training for her first 5k that she's running on October 23... and she's running a 3K on October 22!! I'm really proud of her -- she's overcome asthma, a cut heel (almost lost the back of her foot a few weeks ago) and a whole swack of changes in her life!
@ Mark -- oh, the beach sounds soooo wonderful!! It was beautiful today but spent most of it indoors.... -.- not too happy about that!! I'm soo bloody tired. Spent yesterday with my daughter at a special exhibition -- over 200 booths and all catering to women!! every man's nightmare... unless you're single and looking, then it was a sea of heaven!! It was her 16th on Thursday night, so I pulled a little number on her yesterday. It's our Foundation's fundraising event --12 of the hottest fireman in town!! ha ha I had them pose with her (private shooting) and they all signed their photos on her calendar! She was just a little embarrassed as it took place in front of a crowd of about 200 people!! The most memorable 16th birthday for any teen girl!!

@ Mark -- She said thanks for your birthday wishes! She's still glowing after this weekend, but is getting into a foul mood because I won't let her buy something. I don't think it's safe, but she is hickity pickety bent on getting it.
It's a EMS (electric muscle stimulation) belt for toning muscles. It's basically a TENs machine, like the ones they use in physios -- small electrical currents cause a contraction of the muscle which tones it so it can strengthen after injury. What ever happened to working out at the gym?!?

I'm taking sudafed in the morning, then at 6pm, and my allergy pill at night.
it still hard waking up in the morning. I have to put my alarm clock at 5am to take the sudafed and wait for the congestion to dissipate a bit so I can get out of bed. I can't get my allergy shots until I get better, otherwise I'll get much worse than now.

As far as the link to the Tiki bar I am coming down for sure. I made Lin satnd behind me as I read the article and I said see.... No one like the cold. I loved the part South Philly and South Jersey. I can deal with thos e hurricanes. I want to be a snow bird!!!!!! 6 months at the Jersey Shore and 6 months in Florida. My moms brother did that for years and loved every minute of it. He too hated the snpw and the cold windy frezzzing cold just like me.

Didn't go to work today to give myself three straight days to heal correctly. I actually have a workshop tomorrow (THIS TIME IS FOR REAL) I don't know if you heard my most recent "musical moment" where I showed up to a workshop a month earlier!
