If it weren’t for this limerick thread
I’d be drowning in annual holiday dread
    The relatives are coming
While a tiny drummer sits drumming
And singing repetitive carols in my wee head

I actually think holidays are crazy
Why celebrate only once a year, are we lazy?
    Celebrate every day
With a huge party, I say
This way you’ll stay happy, if a bit hazy!

      Limericks are hard,
      You were the bard,
Inspire me fom wherever you are!!!!!!!

I love you Earnest, you were so kind to me on occasions.

      Joy, what a beautiful tribute,
The love we must really distribute.
      Ernest would be proud
      He'd be screaming aloud:
"More limericks, please all do contribute!"

His granchildren were mentioned each day,
He would stop hubbing juct to watch them play.
Then come back to the screen
      Tell all that he's seen
And we would laugh at the things they would say......

A huge hug to all the grandchildren, that are missing a special grandad.xxx

Oh Earnest, I've got to weigh in
Tho' BO says aetheist love is a sin
I never made it Down Under
    Guess that was my blunder
Miss and love you, oh Earnest, my friend.

earnesthub has gone and left us...It's a true pity...
Though he left us with many a word...that was witty...
His words will live on through the ages,
As remembered fondly upon this Hubpages,
A part of him will always be seen in each little ditty!

Thanks...Best to you, friend...through your sad and happy recollections!

"How wonderful to see what someone meant to us in our day to day busy lifes."
(Sounds like something...a poet ought to say at this time hmm )

I think earnesthub's memory will resonate upon Hubpages...for a long, long time...and show us just how much someone can be missed...that we shared a couple of good puns with...

There once was a man from down under
Whose wit, wisdom and warmth were a wonder
    We counted on him
    And his light-hearted grin
To relieve the dull drone and loud thunder

When talk grew monotonous or heavy
With a post he would always levee
    The stupid, the dim
    The hopeless or grim
With a word to the wise and some levity.

If car questions you had you could not miss
When asking Earnest to check on your list
    But his best hub perhaps
    Which drew the loudest laughs
'Does my butt look big in this?'

Manly, mythical and marital advice aside
Earnest was a man of deep yet modest pride
    His friends he all moved
    Cherished family he loved
It was hard to hear the news that he'd died.

In his sleep we are told and are thankful to know
Surrounded by family whom he did love so
He journeyed forward into "cosmic being"
    A final fantastic earth-bound freeing
We all stopped and jealously cried no! No...

    But posterity would have him
Though if we could we'd grab him
And have him in the forums every day
Where he'd keep up the good fight
And turn the tide of wrong towards right
With his young ones home around him safe at play.

But he is gone and we must find it within us
To keep his legacy alive through the lessons he left us.
To be true, to be honest, a fair dinkum mate
To reject the poison, to defy the hate
To return darkness with light, and grievance with laughter
To embrace life now and leave to itself the here-after
To have real respect, to call opponents a friend
To never give up, and to fight to the end
This is the legacy he left us, the importance of being Earnest.

We will never forget him, he meant too much to us
But he wouldn't like all these tears and the fuss
Reason it out and he'll be there
Love an enemy and we'll see there
That his time spent with us meant so much

In the style of limericks true
Earnest is in me, and he might be in you
And to be on the level
He was a right handsome devil
And the wickedest angel I knew.
