We've gotten word from eBay that existing eBay Publisher Netowrk affiliates can continue to earn from links on HubPages after August 1st, and on an ongoing basis. There is no need to remove eBay capsules or take any action.
We are working with eBay on a plan that will allow new HubPages users to sign up and be approved for EPN under their new policies. If and when it comes together, we'll let you know.
That's really excellent news. Thanks for the ongoing communication on the issue.
That is awesome news!!!!!
Thank you so much for working with them on this. Ebay has become a big part of my Hubpages earnings and I was really bummed that it might go. Glad its here to stay!!!
That's great news! I didn't expect that at all. My earnings were just starting to pick up with EPN, so I'm happy to continue using that capsule.
Thanks for smoothing that out with them, that's a huge deal!
That's too bad. I've taken all my eBay modules off already. There's only one hub I'd even think about putting them back on again. I wasn't making any eBay cash from that one anyway. Ah well... I'll look at this as an experiment on the earning potential of Amazon. :-)
oh ye of little faith....
All I did was remove my affiliate ID, which I've now pasted back in. Not that I'm earning much from eBay on HubPages either, but I do earn from my other websites so I'm not having a problem reaching monthly payout.
Jus luv when Mr. Paul and our HP team are working the behind the scenes for the betterment of our HP world
Yay! That's great news. I had taken Ebay off a bunch of hubs, but I left it on all the ones that were set up just for Ebay stuff. Now I don't have to touch them.
And I think the ones I took it off, I will leave off. They were just extra capsules thrown here and there. Now everything is more focused and my adsense earnings have upticked a bit.
Edited just to add that I went and looked at transaction data for the last four months and found that there are only 34 hubs of mine that generate Ebay sales and aside from a few that have done some one off sales, about 30 of those hubs are consistent earners, seeing sales every week. Thankfully, I only took Ebay off a couple of them
this is great news
I was rejected yesterday from EPN so maybe with your help I can join
I hope you'll all join me in raising a glass to the HubPages team! Thanks for working this out for your site and users.
And I hope that the EPN/HubPages deal includes new users having to prove themselves as capable of true HubPages quality before they get approved.
That's good news! I am happy I did not remove the capsules in my hubs. I just need to add eBay to the newer ones. Thanks a lot and thumbs up for your efforts.
WELL DONE AND THANKS. Glad I only took ebay off one hub...
For those of us that have not yet joined, would it be advisable to join now before the August 1st implementation?
SCORE!!
Hopefully, this won't change in the future. I've been stressing about changing out or deleting the capsules.
I posted that same email a few days back over here which I received from ebay. I am really glad to hear the news that we do not have to edit our ebay capsules. Thanks a lot Mr. Deeds.
That is awesome and I knew there was no need to panic. So let the money flow!!! Yahoooooooooo
Wonderful! I've actually earned money from my eBay capsules, so that's great news!
Phew! Luckily I have been too lazy to make any changes since the original announcement, kind of hoping it would go away or somebody would sort it out, and you have - thanks!
Hopefully this will be the first and last time you make a post like this.
Looks like Squidoo received good news from epn as well.
We can't use our own epn links as expected, but the eBay modules are fine.
Just fyi.
This is wonderful news, I was sweating over having to remove capsules and things, no worries. Good job hub team!!
Im not sure where I stand with Ebay. I have been posting their adds foer two years but somehow the link between my account & them was brocken so i earned zeoro dollars. I emailed them got an unsatifactory reply. Then I got an email asking me to fill out a questionaire about their customer service standards, Which i did.
Any update on the EPN for hubpages. For some reason I am having difficulty getting approved.
I got shot down THRICE! No kidding.
Perhaps it has got to with the fact that I am from Malaysia.
Add me to the 'shot down' list 2x. Anyone getting accepted these days?
