People who copy news articles and past them off as there own. The nerve of some people!
If anyone see copied articles please flag them!
a few of mine got listed as duplicate. Why? Not the material(you can't possibly know some of this stuff I write unless you have LEO experience)but because I put a lot of links to help people get needed counseling or whatever. That is seen as highly promotional. I also make quotes, with appropriate links to where I got them at the end of the quote. It still is stamped duplicated...go figure. Guess you can't win. But the system on hub mostly works because ppl do copy a lot of stuff and call it their own, and that does make me mad too.
I just came across a 2 day old hubber with 109 copied hubs from yahoo, mtv etc
Sometimes I report them to the site they stole them from...
There's a online plagiarism checker thing. HubPages has it I think.
this is awful and I hope that whoever decides to take credit for work that is not theirs suffers the seven year itch. I occasionally search my content on copyscape to check for stolen work. Haven't found any yet but always remain vigilant for this.
If I have poetry that ws published on another site can i post it here with any static or should i delete them from the other website first>
If it is your own work I don't see why not
You have to delete first, if not it will show as duplicate. By the way, welcome back! i read u had some problems....
So if you delete it, then republish the dupicate vanishes ?
U delete first in the other site, u publish here, and if by any chance it's flagged , u wait until hubpages fixes that 4 u
but I thought the contents belonged to us? hubs etc ,to do with what we want too.
Yes, but if they are published somewhere else it's duplicate.
it has to do with the search engines
ohok.
That seems to be everywhere though, Ive seen duplicate from companies all over the place.
Rules suck.
You should ask Maddie. She's like God in here !
Hubs regard it as duplicate even if it is your own !
also, I publish my works on other sites too....
I don't know how to get that damn thing to stop stamping duplicate on a few of my hubs. I DON'T COPY.
I once had my entire business website copied verbatim by one of my competitors. I sent her an email, and got no response. So I called her and told her to take the content down. She actually said to me, "Lisa, you don't own the internet!"
Needless to say, I sent her information on plagiarism and copyright and she finally took it down with very big apologies!
Guys, i have two blogs, one at wordpress and another at blog, the content is 50% similar. am i in trouble?
I hate it when people copy my hubs and post them as their own. It happens at least a couple of times a month. It's easy to take care of by filing a report with Google, but it takes time and it's really aggravating. It's even happened here---Like, people write hubs, then they turn up under another name at HP! It's nuts.
I think "hatred" is a rather strong emotion....however I most certainly sympathize with your plight.
I have seen people copy work and post it under the guise that it is their own....I have had work stolen as well.
Certainly infuriating...the only thing you can do is report the content and acknowledge that anybody that engages in these sort of acts lacks any sense of creativity or the ability to form a thought on their own.
I don't feel hatred towards them...I feel sympathy. A sad commentary in and of itself...
To learn more about plagiarism, you may find my hub useful: http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Deal-With-Plagiarism
A few of you on here have read it already I know, and Im not trying to drive traffic to it.... but I think it is (at least was) the only dedicated plagiarism hub on hubpages.
We don't need to go to any hubpage to learn about plagiarism . It's all in Q & A in hubpages.
Tantrum by name, Tantrum by nature, almost every post I have seen from you has been a moan - a lot of people have found my hub useful; so I'm not going to cry about the tantrum not heading my way.
No harm in being an opportunist I guess ryan ,but to be fair , I have seen you get pissy on occassion lol
Yep guilty as charged, I can certainly be a moody bugger - hands up for that one, I guess that Tantrum has just ended up in the same places as me a lot today.... but he/she did show a complete sense of humour failure on Pamda Man's satirical thread earlier...
I think you're too slow! I'm joking all the time lol!! i'didn't miss anything , I think you're missing something BRAINS!
I think that you have most certainly hit the nail completely and fully on the head, I am missing my brains. I graduated last month with a First Class degree by complete fluke; shame that they didn't offer a taught module on the use of smily faces then isn't it? Maybe I would have failed that one?
Don't know about that , but look at your score in 12 months and look at mine in 3 weeks
Sorry something happened in my labtop... I wrote mine last week If you want 2 know.... Anyway this is childish ! have a nice week- end
moaning ? that's funny ! I've been laughing all the time ! now I'm laughing at you !
You don't need to use five identical emoticons to emphasise your current emotion Tantrum, I am fully literate so just telling me that you are laughing is fine. If any doubt does ever arise over my ability to understand a sentence in my native language then the use of just one emoticon will be sufficient

What is duplicate content? When I get flagged for duplicate content, it kind of breaks my heart, especially when I write something that is totally original - no quotes, no links, etc. I see so many "duplicate" hub oriented hubs and wonder why they exist without being flagged as duplicate...

I found out this morning that this site had stolen at least 2 of my hubs. The more I looked, the more I noticed that it appears every single post on the site is a stolen hub, completely copied in most cases (including the authors' names and copyright notes, ironically). I see lots of names of...

Got a bunch of duplicate content warnings and I am not sure if Hubpages found duplicate content in my Hubs or on the web. If Hubpages finds duplicate content, how hard is it for them to share with us where they found it and what exactly they found? It sure would save and lot of time and...

Has anyone ever had an article marked as a Duplicate when you wrote every word yourself? How can this happen?
by Ghost32 13 years ago
This is puzzling to say the least. One of my hubs, i.e.Product Review : The Yamaha EF2000is Portable Generatorhas been flagged for duplicate content. Yet ONLY the title, NOT the content, is anything other than 100% original work. In fact, it's a blow-by-blow account of our...

Good morning, I've just completed a piece on a legend from Irish folklore, https://hubpages.com/education/Field-Gu … -Gollerus#It's been submitted, but is showing the "Duplicate" warning. I'm not sure why, I haven't published this anywhere else and have re-written the story in my...
